Evaluation Essay

A place to be proud of, something that provides comfort to be in and live in. A home that you
grew up in, places you’ve lived, places you’d like to go, and a place to call yours. Few people
with homes stay for their entire lives, most move around in certain areas. Though, there is
always an ideal perfect place to settle everyone dreams of. Like the movie UP, we all hold
sentimentality in things we own, use, and are gifted, now being in a place we spend the most
time in makes it more special. Pondering about the privilege of having a home makes you
wonder about the groups of people without.
The brutality and mistreatment of homeless people that was exposed to me effectively change
the trajectory of my career. Putting myself in the shoes of someone that has no home is
heartbreaking to even think about nor to experience. One without a home, family, their kids, or
any support system is almost inhumane from how normalized it is. According to the text "In
January 2020, there were 580,466 people experiencing homelessness on our streets and in
shelters in America most were individuals (70 %) and the rest were people in families with
children." Making 18% of the population while increasing because of COVID since 2016, is
worrisome considering this is the second decade of the 21st century. Now, knowing that now
was the primary reason for my career change plan. Cosmetology was my career path before but
my attention span wasn’t holding, the passion was only temporary compared to the ongoing
goal of real estate. It was more so because I enjoy nails and the art form of it, rather than
anything substantial to my life that drives me to do it.
Getting into real estate with an idea that it was easy was a mistake, it is more complex in its
learning. Building relations, consistency with clients, staying with companies for foundation
bases, marketing strategies, accounting, the law, and business. These layers of courses and
practices are all involved in my career path including credit. Staying on top of your credit score,
with an awareness you don't have to be in debt for your credit score to drop, there are many
ways that your credit could've gone down according to credit karma "credit score can drop due
to a variety of reasons, including late or missed payments". Credit scores play a big part of
being a realtor making sure that you are able to get the house you want or to see if you are
even able to get the house you’re looking for especially within their price range. The average
home price is $428,7009 in America, 1,230 per month, for a 30 year fixed rate loan.
Affordable options for people in this current market right now is crucial. The future generation is
uncertain and statistically it is unlikely for prices to be affordable or minimum wages to be raised
with the tools that are being used now. Dividing the communities whilst the communities itself is
also being rebuilt for the high demand of that land. Homelessness is more common in America
than people realize; the unfortunate won’t help the unfortunate unless it is fortunate for them.
Not even in Florida state is this affecting but multi populated states as well including California,
New York, and Washington. With a disproportionately large number of those being underaged
and veterans is why the underprivileged should be most protected. Ending homelessness would
mean meeting the demand and the outcomes not solely on the outputs without actual solutions,
that hold consequences over who chose not to follow. Addressing the 3 main reasons why
being: Mental illness and disability, unemployment, and affordable housing, which from the
capitalist system that was placed formed a slippery slope. The solution rises in Finland
according to CBC “Starting in 2008, we committed to systemic change in the homelessness
policy and homelessness service structures. We replaced existing shelters and hostels with
permanent housing solutions. It's your own rental apartment, with your own rental contract, and
there is support staff there.” So providing housing is better cost friendly than keeping people
homeless considering all the donations, charities, and shelters not going toward better housing.
Japan with the first lowest homelessness rates according to tomorrow.city “offering training
courses for these citizens, many of whom were around fifty years of age, as well as incentives
to encourage businesses to hire these employees and subsidized rent options for housing,
together with direct food aid for the most deprived people.” With Japan and Finland being in the
lead will other neighboring countries ever fall in line? These examples show the possibility of a
better outcome in another light entirely, pointing out the need for support for citizens.
Circumstances in different countries have different outcomes but the betterment of the people
and societal image is one of the priorities. There are too many families that are not able to afford
a home and not even groups of families, though there are posts of others invading their space,
trashing their tent, and shelters.
In conclusion, this evaluation is but a stepping stool to the bigger issue at hand that will affect
how our lives in America will function. Helping those find exactly what they’ve worked, saved
and loaned for with a glint in their eyes as they begin their memories is touching. Starting on a
journey of entrepreneurship is never a linear process of learning nor growth. According to the
National Association of realtors “For most home buyers, the purchase of real estate is one of the
largest financial transactions they will make.” furthering the passion towards the agency of
realtors. Having invented and/or created something from the ground up with the ideas of
someone else's mind or even a couple to make up a structure that changes people's lives is
why I choose real estate.
