Please report to the audition room at the beginning of your audition time block and sign up for an audition time. No talking in the audition room. If you have a question or do not understand the instructions, leave the room and ask the monitor for clarification Audition material will consist of: 1. Scalesyou will be asked your chromatic scale (articulation to be designated). Play the complete practical range of your instrument with enough speed to demonstrate technical proficiency. Major and minor scales are to be played (with articulation as asked) by stopping on the tonic. Note: Do not play arpeggios. 2. Prepared music excerptsSymphonic Band excerpts will also be available no later than Friday, August 13. Be sure you download the correct music! 3. Sight reading * Audition results will be posted on the Band Office door and outside the Orchestra Room (SOM 118) by 10:00 pm on Sunday, August 22.
