GUIDELINES FOR MINOR PROJECT REPORT

Minor project is a part of the Course Curriculum of BCA. The project report & presentation
prepared carry 100 marks as a part of University criteria. If any student fails to submit project
report they will not be able to clear their papers in Final Year University Exams.

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS:

1. It is compulsory for all the students to make the project report.


2. Students are required to prepare their project report and get it evaluated by the by your
faculty/Project Supervisor.
3. No two project report of any students should be identical, in any case, as this may lead to the
cancellation of your project report by the University.
4. All the students would be required to finalize the topic for their project in consultation with
their respective project supervisor.
Guidelines of Writing the Project Report

❖ NUMBER OF PAGES:
• Minimum 50 pages
• Maximum 80 pages

❖ TYPING INSTRUCTIONS:
• Border Indents
• Page Numbering – Bottom centered
• Font Type – Times New Roman
• Font Color – Black only
• Font Size – Uniform & Consistent throughout the report Chapter Heading – 16 (Bold)
• Titles – 14 (Bold)
• Normal Text – 12 (Regular)
• Line Spacing – 1.5
• Graphical Presentation – Color / Black & White
• Reference Number - Each and every Table / Exhibit / Figure must be assigned its
reference number. E.g. – Table 1.1, Fig 1.1, etc.

❖ BINDING INSTRUCTIONS:
• Two Copies - Black Hard Binding with Golden Imprint
• Along with a soft copy in a CD pasted inside the report at the last.

❖ PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS:
• Paper – Executive Bond
• First Copy - Original in all respects.
• Second Copy originally printed / photocopy of the FIRST copy.

❖ ALIGNMENT
• Title page: Centre Chapter
• Heading: Centre Sub
• Body of Text: Justify
❖ MARGINS
• At the binding, edge
(Left): Not less than 3 cm
• Other Margins (Right,
Top, Bottom): Not less
than 2 cm.
❖ TITLES
• All titles and subtitles should be printed in BOLD.
• All the Tables/ Graphs /Charts should have appropriate titles.

❖ NUMBERING of the Table / Graph/ Charts


Table /Graph/ Charts should be numbered in the following fashion. Second table / Graph/
Chart in Second Chapter should be numbered as Table /Graph/Chart No 2.01, 2.02….
where first digit stands for Chapter No. and digits after (.) period stand for Number of
Table / Graph / Charts in that chapter.
Same numbering system should be followed for other chapters. Table /Graph
/Charts must be followed by proper explanation and analysis.

❖ Pagination(Page numbers):
The Title page should not carry any page number.
For initial pages, (i.e. from Students Declaration to Executive Summary) numbers should be
given in small Roman Numbers. (Like i, ii, iii, iv, etc.)
Report should contain main page numbers (i.e. 1, 2 …) after Executive Summary.
Main page numbers should start from first page of Chapter No. 1 and will continue until last
page of the report.
Page numbers are to be given at the center of bottom of the page. Pages separating
Chapters should not be numbered but be counted.

❖ Binding of the report


The project should be hard bound with golden embossing as per the standard format
· Number of Copies to be prepared
02 Hard copies (Hardbound), A4 is compulsory.
· Each student is also required to make a copy of project in CD and submit along with
his/her project report.
❖ SUBMITTING PROJECT REPORT:
• Project Report is to be submitted to the class Coordinator after getting approved by
your faculty in charge/project supervisor.

Chapter1 Introduction (Theoretical Background)
A brief theoretical backdrop and literature review about the project is required to be given like
referring to some standard text books, journals, magazines, newspaper, etc. Attempt should be
made to collect latest information by scanning latest articles published in periodicals, journals,
etc.Research Methodology& limitations of the study.

Chapter 2 Introduction to Company


2.1. Overview of Industry as whole -#-
2.2. Profile of the Organization -#-
2.3. Problems of the Organization -#-
2.4. Competition Information -#-
2.5. S.W.O.T Analysis of the Organization -#-

Chapter 3 – Data Analysis & Interpretation -#-

In this chapter Primary data collected or secondary data collected from published records be
systematically analyzed and tables, graphs, diagrams also are used wherever necessary to present
the data. Every table / data should be followed by suitable interpretation.

Chapter 4 – Findings/ Observations& Recommendations (If any)


Based on analysis of the information relevant observations inference to be made / drawn.
