If the Bal-Con sensor position is changed, the forward or rear position of the bobbin will
change relative to the movable Bal-Con.
Set the movable Bal-Con stop position on the VOS.

Sec 1 Adjustment Standard

1-1 Bal-Con Height
Adjust the height of the Bal-Con using the clamp
lever or the bolt on the right hand side.

How to Use the Clamp Lever

Clamp lever Bolt
Pulling the lever towards you only unlocks the lever.

● When the clamp lever is loose

the right.
* To tighten the clamp lever, follow the loosening procedure but in reverse order.
* After adjusting the Bal-Con height, set the clamp lever in an upward direction so that it does not interfere
with the adjacent winding unit.

1-4 Movable Bal-Con Stop Position

The stop position for the movable Bal-Con can be
adjusted using the “Movable Bal-Con Stop Position”
settings on the VOS. (Refer to Chapter 3) Movable Bal-Con

1. Set to “Bal-Con Operation Check” on the VOS

maintenance screen. (Refer to Chapter 3)
2. Use the unit operation buttons to ensure that
the movable Bal-Con stop position meets the
Bobbin chase
top of the bobbin chase.
3. If the stop position does not meet the top of
the bobbin chase, select “Up” or “Low” in the
“Movable Bal-Con Stop Position” settings on Movable Bal-Con stop position
the VOS. Then, adjust it accordingly so that the
bottom of the movable Bal-Con meets the top
of the bobbin chase.

The stop position for the movable Bal-Con may vary depending on the winding unit.

1-5 Bobbin Forward/Rear Position
After adjusting the movable Bal-Con stop position, adjust the forward or rear position of the bobbin.

When adjusting the forward or rear position of the bobbin, ensure that the following position
adjustments have been completed: Bal-Con height, bobbin holder position, bobbin angle
and right / left position, and movable Bal-Con stop position. When checking, use empty
bobbins.

1. Set to “Bal-Con Operation Check” on the VOS maintenance screen. (Refer to Chapter 3)
2. After performing the centering operation using the unit operation buttons, set the Bal-Con to the
bottom position.
* If the Bal-Con does not lower to the bottom position, re-adjust the bobbin angle on the ejector. (Refer to
Chapter 4Pb)
3. Ensure that the bobbin and the movable Bal-Con center are aligned.

4. After adjusting the sensor, check again to ensure that the bobbin and the movable Bal-Con center
are aligned.
* Repeat until the bobbin and the movable Bal-Con center are aligned.
* When setting the Bal-Con to the bottom position, ensure that the sensor is turned OFF.

2-3 Precautions When Connecting the Sensor Cable
When connecting the sensor cable, hang the cable while the movable Bal-Con is raised so that it reaches all
the way to the slide screw shaft. Then connect it.

If there is insufficient slack in the cable length, the cable may disconnect.

2-4 Precautions When Installing the Lower Cover on the Raise/Lower Shaft
When installing the lower cover on the shaft (raise/ lower) section, pull the sensor cable through on the inside
of the partition.

2-5 Precautions When Mounting the Eject Cutter

• Apply locking adhesive to the bolt before mounting the cutter.

Since the cutter is ceramic, over-tightening the fixing bolt may cause the cutter to fracture
or break. (The recommended tightening torque is between 0.2 and 0.3 N•m)
• Be sure not to touch the cutter as it can cause injury.

3. Remove all old grease on each part completely.
* Disassemble and clean when necessary
Guide shaft
When old grease congeals, it
increases the resistance on the
sliding screw and nut, causing the
mechanism to wear at a faster rate.
Therefore, clean and remove old
grease.
MOLYKOTE

4. Apply grease (0.5 mL) to the guide shaft, slide
screw, arm guide and arm guide felt.

If too much grease is applied, it

produces resistance and causes
malfunction. Therefore, apply the
proper amount evenly.

5. Spread the grease evenly by raising and

2-8 Tightening the Timing Belt

Turn and adjust the motor.

Ensure that the belt is not too slack or too taut. (Recommended tension:30.2 – 40.6 N)
Malfunctions could occur if the tension is out of the recommended range.
