15- Principe and Structure: Reagent zone on the test strip and the biochemical composition of
urine reaction to produce color changes. The color depth of color makes it different reflectivity in
monochrome light irradiation. It can determine the amount of urine biochemical substances
according to the gradient reflectivity, and test a number of reagents; this can be used to realize a
number of biochemical substances in urine test. The Instrument operate by the scan of the test
strip by three different kind of monochromatic light, scanning system converts the optical signal
into electrical signal, Electrical signal after being processed by the microcontroller to receive,
process, and calculate the value of a certain color reflectance.

According to the value calculated by reflection rate, we can know the density of certain
biochemical components in urine. Through software processing, show and print the test result
with the unit which has clinical significance.

BW-200 urine analyzer is composed of control unit, mechanical unit, optical scanning unit;
The structure frame diagram is as follows:

Main board is the core of the instrument, including CPU, memorizer, I / 0 expansion of the
circuit, signal processing circuit, keyboard control circuit, clock calendar management circit,
driver circuit, system of automatically adjustment of the circuit etc. Its main function is to
receive, transfer, storage, processing, sending various signals, control, coordination, drive to
various parts to work. The head plate is mainly for optical scanning of cold light source system
to complete detection signal acquisition, conversion and amplification, filtering, A / D
conversion and other processing. When the optical signal is change into single chip it can receive
digital signals.

Under the control of main board, the mechanical system finishes the transferring and scanning to
test strips. LCD is used to show the date, time, test result, instrument status etc, and prompts user
to operate, realize man-machine conversation. Keyboard is used to input user’s operation
instructions, complete the testing operation and the instrument settings. The printer settings can
be used to print the result according to user needs. Data communications interface is the standard
RS-232 interface for communication with the computer connected. External printer interface is
used to connect external printer, print the test results, to facilitate permanent storage of data.

【Important notes, cautions and indicative descriptions】

1.Use the "↑" key to move stage into instrument, use the "↓" key to move stage out. Do not
use hands to push or pull stage, in order to avoid damage to transmission mechanism.

2. When replacing the printing paper, use your fingers to press the middle of the lower edge of
the printer cover, the locking spring under the printer cover will pop the cover up . Do not use
screwdriver to pry the cover.

3. When cleaning the stage, do not wipe it with anything that would scratch the stage and the
calibration block material. Avoid using any type of solvent cleaning calibration block.

4. After turning off the device, we have to pause one minute to turn it on again in order to avoid
any damage to the device circuit.

5. Each day we should use standard gray bar to do the quality control to urine analyzer. The test
result should be as same as <Standard gray bar test result>, or we should stop using the device
and contact supplier.

6. The instrument should be supporting the use of test strips and urine analysis, urine analysis
test strips fit models following: URS-8, URS-10, URS-11, URS-12, etc. when testing, according
to【Instructions】 in the 3.3 / 3.4 steps

7. Supporting the use of Urine test strips should be used one time. Centralized collection after
use, you should collect it back and sterilized it before abandoning it.

8. After a test is completed, especially after a high positive samples test, you should wipe the
stage with absorbent paper or soft cloth, cotton balls, etc., absorb the legacy urine of the last tests
on the stage, in order to avoid cross-contamination of the next test.

9. When putting the device, please do not block the device power socket to make sure we can
disconnect plug in time when encounters emergency.

 【Installation Instructions】

Please install the instrument in direct sunlight horizontal table, away from electromagnetic
interference, install the print paper, and connect the power cord correctly before you can use it.

Attention: install paper.

1. Choose a width of 57 mm roll of thermal paper.

2. Press down on the bottom of the printer cover on the center position, the printer cover pops
up, remove the printer cover

3. Place the printing paper in the feed bin and pay attention to the thermal part of the printing
paper.

4. Open the printer paper installed handle paper, put the print paper into the printer vertically,
pull the paper up and down , feel the paper can move freely, and you can be put down the
handle.

5. Put the print paper through the printer paper outlet cover and then close it well.

2. Menu function

2.1 Turn on the power switch, the system will inspect itself automatically, including the light
intensity, mechanical unit, main control unit and photosensitive probe. If the self-inspection is
OK，enter into main screen, and display time, date and other information, Urine instrument
will be in standby state .

2.2 System settings: in the main menu, move the cursor to the system settings; press <Enter >
key to enter the system settings.

2.2.1 Move the cursor to the clock setting, press <Enter > button, press the required to enter
the correct time value
 2.2.2 Move the cursor to the paper type setting item, press <Enter> button, you can switch to
the paper type URS-8, URS-10, URS-11, URS-12, etc.

2.2.3 Move the cursor to the internal setting key, press <Enter> button, and enter the correct
password from the keyboard.

2.2.4 Move the cursor to the test mode, press <Enter> button to select single test or continuous
test.

2.2.5 Move the cursor to the backup, press <Enter> button to select the backup or not.

2.2.6 Move the cursor to return; press< Enter> button to return to the main screen

2.3 Unit settings: Moves the cursor to the unit, press <Enter> button to enter, then press OK
button to choose the old system or the SI system.

2.4 Data Query: In the main menu, move the cursor to the data query; press <Enter > button to
enter the list of query menu.

2.4.1 Code Inquiry: Search for records by inquiring the corresponding code number. Move the
cursor to a code inquiry, press <Enter > button, the number to be queried by the prompt,
press <Enter >button to find the desired record.

2.4.2 Previous record: This item shows the current recorded by previous record number.

2.4.3 Current record: This item shows the last test or query

2.4.4 After the record: This item shows a record of the number of the current record.

2.4.5 Clear record: This can be used to clear all the records stored results. The interface will
continue to require confirmation, after a certain answer to clear the operation, or to
confirm the interface to cancel this operation.

2.5 Print setting

2.5.1 Type selection: Move the cursor to the inner or external selection, press <Enter > button
to convert, Built-in is referred to the printing of the instrument itself thermal printer.
External refers to the use of an external stylus printer or connect urinary sediment
analysis system.

2.5.2 Model selection: move the cursor to the mode selection, press <Enter > button to choose
to print automatic / manual. Print Automatic means the test is completed, the printer will
automatically print out the results; manual print means the test is completed you will still
need to press “Print” to print the results.
 2.5.3 Turbidity and color choices: Move the cursor to "ON", press the enter button to enable it.
When a single test, the screen prompts for turbidity and color choices, the result will be
the same with dry chemical test results printout; select "Off" Disables the function. It is
no continuous test for this feature.

2.6 Self-Test: Move the cursor to self-test program, press the <Enter > button, the instrument will
control the test of control unit, test unit, test accuracy, mechanical unit and the light intensity.

3. Operating procedure

3.1 Start the instrument: the instrument is installed; turn on the power switch, the instrument
system self-test. When the test is passed, the instrument into operation, the main screen is
displayed.

3.2 Check the stage: Before starting any tesst you should first check the stage to see if it is clean
or not, the loading platform and the white calibration tile are clean or not. refer to a manual
about urine analyzer maintenance and repair.

If the stage is not clean or position is not correct, refer to the "maintenance method" for the
maintenance of urine analyzer.

3.3 Single strips test mode: Press the Start button, the instrument alert beep dipped into the urine,
the countdown will start from 63 seconds (for 8 dipstick test, the countdown will start from
33 seconds), remove the test strip and then immerse it completely immersed into the patient
urine for 1-2 seconds, then remove the strips, use a cleaning paper to remove excess urine
and then put the strips on the stage, the top of the test paper is to touch the top of the test
paper slot.

3.4 Continuous strip test mode: In case of continuous testing, the countdown will start from
"32"(for 8 dipstick tests, it will start from 3), after the instrument beeps, prepare the second
strip, immerse it in the urine and then put on the absorbent paper and wait for the next beep.
When the instrument beeps again prepare the third strip, at the same time put the second test
strip prepared on the loading platform, and complete a continuous operation. In Continuous
test mode, at the end of the test you will have to remove the strip from the stage so that the
instrument stops automatically, otherwise, the instrument will go on testing the same strips
over and over again.

3.5 Gray strip test: gray strip is the standard fixed-absorbance used to test the stability of urine
analyzer. It can be test directly on the machine. It is prohibited to dip in water or urine, the
test results should be consistent with the "gray strip test values", otherwise, please contact
the after-sales service personnel.
4.Operation flowchart

Please operate equipment in strict accordance with above operation methods as prescribed by the
manufacturer, otherwise it can damage equipment testing stability and security provide by
equipment.

【Maintenance Methods】

1. Daily maintenance and matters need attention

1.1 Machine should be cleaned by soft cloth regularly. If the surface of machine is dirty, you can
use clear water to wipe, but avoid using gasoline, paint thinner, benzene compound, which
would make equipment deformation, affect its normal work.

1.2 Do not wipe screen with water, it should be cleaned by soft cloth or soft towel.

1.3 Should keep the stage clean with clear water daily. when there is dust or foreign matter on
white calibration film and stage, should wipe with cotton cloth with distilled water or soft
absorbing paper. When the surface of white calibration film is damaged or worn, it should
be changed.

Attention: Avoid using any rough material wiping stage and calibration block. Avoid using any
type of solvent cleaning calibration block.

2. Regular cleaning

If there is urine alkali on workbench, cleaning as following steps:

1) Use cotton swab dipped in 0.1%HCL, wipe off the stage. Do not contact with the solution of
white plastic calibration block.

2) Use wet cloth wipe out residual HCL on workbench.

3) Use absorbing paper wipe stage to dry.

3. Disinfection treatments

It is recommended to conduct a disinfection treatment of the plate-form every week: specific

operation as followings:

1) Use household bleach (5% sodium hypochlorite) as disinfectant, can use the original
concentration, or diluted to 1/20 (for 1/20 solution, mix 5 ml of bleach with 95ml water)

2) Remove the stage from the instrument, use cotton balls or impermeable material to protect the
white calibration block, and then immerse it in disinfectant for 10 minutes, then rinse.

3) Use soft towel or cloth wipe stage to dry

Attention: Avoid damaging white calibration block and avoid sharp objects touching white
calibration block.
4. Put the instrument on a fixed cleaned surface avoids direct sunlight and no strong
electromagnetic interference level surface.

5. The printer cover should be built on the printer to avoid the liquid entering the instrument.

6. Every day before shutting down the equipment, the test platform should be removed. The test
platform should be clean with water, absorbent paper and then be dry on the groove. To put it in
its original location, click "↑" key to replace it correctly.

7. When the apparatus is set off, you must wait after 1 minute before reboot to prevent damage to
equipment lines.

【Storage conditions and method】

Long-term storage should be selected as a ventilated and dry place, avoid direct sunlight.

1. The serial data communication between urine analyzer and computer

By BW-200 urine analyzer serial port on the back you can connect with the PC terminal socket,
using a standard RS-232 communication cable to connect to a computer. Open the main menu
in the print setup interface, in the location selection of printer selection "external", realize the
data communication between them.

Urine Analyzer BW-200 and the computer have a fairly completed data communication
function, all urine analysis test results can be sent to the computer directly.

The computer can save test results and establish a complete urine sample case database. The
operator can conveniently and accurately do operation like computer database management,
case display, data printing and other operations. Data can also be transferred to the online
hospital management software, for network management. It constitutes a diagnosis system for
provide services for the medical expert system.

2. Parallel data communication between computer and urine analyzer

At the back of the urine analyzer there is a printer parallel port terminal socket; parallel port
connection can be achieved with the computer to permit data communication. With the
upgrading of the equipment, this function has been completely replaced by serial data
communication.
