VAPMS COLLEGE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY welcomes you all to join it’s


Silver Jubilee Celebrations.

Physio Fest - AURORA is the celebration in which the Physiotherapy fraternity


(BPT/MPT/INTERN/FACULTY) shall join to compete, enthral, enjoy and cherish
the moments of togetherness. It is thus named to be as Ambitious & Uniting
Radiation of Omniphysio Rising Aspirants.

Henrick’s’ Academics Alfonso’ Sports Mitchell’s Culturals

 The registered participants have to get carry their college ID cards and
along with an authenticating letter from their respective Principals
(authorising their identity and genuinity).

 Rs 100/- per head per event is the registration fees. A person wishing to
accompany without participating in any event, can also visit by paying Rs
100/- as nominal registration. Registration itself confirms the consent for
any consequences during this period. (such as injuries, theft, mishaps… )
 Confirm dress code (colour) for sports & carry apron for academics
 We request all the participants to abide to all the rules, guidelines and
regulations framed by organizing committees to conduct the events
smoothly and without any bias. Respecting the jury and umpires is
respecting our participation.
 Winners & Runners of events shall be awarded with a trophy. All
participants shall receive the certificate.
 Highest points secured college shall be the Overall championship Award
Winner.

PAPER PRESENTATION
ON :-28th NOV FROM:- 8am to 11am
TITLE:- “ PHYSIOTHERAPY IN CRITICAL CARE “
RULES & GUIDELINES:-
1. Presentation should contain maximum of 12 slides, with FONT
SIZE -30 , FONT STYLE - TIMES NEW ROMAN.
2. Participant name or college name should not be written in
any slide , only AURORA registration number should be
written.
3. Language of presentation should be in ENGLISH only.
4. Participant should mention their TITLE HEADLINE.
5. Content of presentation should not be copied. Any
plagiarism, if detected will lead to disqualification.
6. Presentation time for each participant is 6 mins, followed by
3 queries.

Poster Topic:- “ Innovations in Physiotherapy Practice ”
Rules & Guidelines:-

1. One student per poster.


2. Maximum time allotted for poster presentation is 5mins (3mins presentation &
mins questions).

3. Poster title should be clear.

4. Poster content should be clearly visible from a distance of 3 FEET.


5. Size of poster (potrait ) is 36"B×48"L & should be riveted on 4 corners.
6. Can use appropriate pictures / graphics , diagrams, graphs, tables & charts with
clear resolution.
7. Aspects considered in judging criteria are CONTENT OF POSTER, APPEARANCE,
PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION & SPELLING MISTAKES.
8. Do not mention participant name or college name on poster, only AURORA’S
registration number should be written

RULES &GUIDELINES:-
Team should consist of 4 members.

Replacement of participant is allowed after additional

other electronic gadget during quiz.

GENERAL RULES:-
Work should be done in fevi-cryl shades.
Only white charts will be provided with dimensions 70cm in length & 45cm in
width.
Any entry found copied by any means will be disqualified.
Participant need to carry own drawing stationary.

“SPONTANEOUS THEME WILL BE GIVEN ON DAY OF COMPETITION”

Sprint (Girls & Boys)

• The winner of the 200 meter sprint is the first runner to cross the finish
line.
• Start every200 meter sprinter must begin the race with his/her feet in the
starting blocks.
• The official race starter will call the sprinters to their blocks and on
command the runners will adopt a set position.
• The set position requires the runners to have both feet in the blocks and
adopt a position with the body weight on their hands.
• On the starter's Call all runners begin the race.
• False Start: A false start is called when the feet of a runner leave the
starting blocks before the starter's call.
• Any sprinter who leaves his/her lane or obstructs the path of another
sprinter will be automatically disqualified from the race.
Shot put (Girls)
• When an athlete’s name is announced, he or she will be having only 60 seconds to commence
the throwing motion.
• For safety purpose, the players can tape their fingers but they certainly cannot wear gloves.
• The resting position of the shot is near the neck and it should remain over there throughout
the motion.
• With the use of only one hand, the shot should be released above the height of shoulder.
• An athlete can use the perimeter of inside the circle but certainly cannot use the border or
outside area of the toe board. Extension of the limbs outside the circle during the throw is
allowed.
• The legal sector is 34.92 degree of the throwing area. The shot should be thrown within that
range.
• An athlete should leave the circle from back.
• The player throws the shot put for 3times and best score will be selected.

Fouls:

• The athlete does not pause before the throwing action within the circle.
• The athlete is unable to commence the throw within 60 sec of calling his name.
• The athlete holds the shot below the shoulder level or outside its vertical level.
• The athlete is not able to make a continuous contact of the shot with the neck and it slips off.
• If during the throwing the shot touches any of the following
• Top or ends of the toe board.
• Upper side of the iron ring.
• At any position outside the circle.
• The athlete goes out of the circle before the landing of the shot.
• The athlete does not move from the rear half of the circle.
Badminton
• Preferable synthetic shoes if not bare foot is allowed.
• Everyone should carry their own rackets.
• Shuttles will be provided by organizers for game purposes.
• For practice shuttles will not be provided by organizers.
• During the play everyone should wear their respective college jersey and
shorts or track pant.
• Before playing commences, a toss shall be conducted and the side of
winning the toss chooses to serve or receive first which side of the court
they want to be on.

Scoring system

• A match consists of the best of three games of 21 points.


• The side winning rally shall add a point to its score.
• If the score becomes 20 all, the side which gains 2 points lead first wins
that game.
• If the score becomes 29 all, the side scoring the 30th point, wins that game
• The side winning game serves first in the next game.

Singles

• At the beginning of the game (0-0) and when the server’s score is even,
the server serves from the right service court.
• When the server’s score is odd, the server serves from the left Service
court.
• If the server wins a rally, the server scores a point and then serves again
from the alternate Service court.
• If the receiver wins a rally, the receiver scores a point and becomes the
new server. They serve from the appropriate service court – left if their
score is odd, and right if it is even.
Doubles

• Player of the serving side shall serve from the right service court when
the serving side has not scored or has scored an even number of points in
that game.
• A player of the serving side shall serve from the left service court when
the serving side has scored an odd number of points in that game.
• The player of the receiving side who served last shall stay in the same
service court from where he served last. The reverse pattern shall apply to
the receiver’s partner
• The player of the receiving side standing in the diagonally opposite
service court to the server shall be the receiver.
• The players shall not change their respective service courts until they win
a point when their Side is serving.

Faults

• Serving before the opponent is ready.


• Touching the net with your body or racket.
• Hitting the shuttlecock more than once in a row.
• The shuttle touching the person or dress of a player
• Hitting the shuttle before it crosses the net.
Throw ball
• Each set consists of 3 sets and each set consists of 25 points.
• Each team consists of 7 active players and 5 substitute players.
• Rotations for every serve change.
• Service must be done from service zone within 5 seconds of time.
Underarm serve is considered as foul.
• While servicing the ball if the player touches the service line it is
considered as wrong serve.
• If the ball touches the net while servicing is considered as foul.
• Player must have contact with ground while catching the ball and the ball
must be caught with both hands at once.
• Double catch or double touch of the ball by the player is considered as
foul.
• Two players cannot touch the ball at the same time.
• The ball must be thrown with the single hand from above the shoulder
with in 3 sec of time. Player can jump while throwing the ball.
• The ball cannot be shifted from left to right or right to left ,if it does can
be considered as foul
• Player cannot touch the ball with any other body part other than palm.
• For every foul opposite team is awarded with point.
• If the ball falls on the box line or dead zone it is considered as foul.
Chess
• Player with white moves first, then alternate one.
• Touch move rule, if you touch a piece that can legally be moved, you
must move it.
• Scores should be noted based on pieces.
• Game continues until the checkmate has done.
Games points for pieces:

Pawn: 1 point (soldier)

Knight: 3 points (Horse)

Bishop: 3 points (Camel)

Rook: 5 points (Elephant)

Queen: 9 points (Mantri)


Caroms
• Game should begin with striking white coins.
• Black and white coins rule is applicable.
• Thumbing and scissoring is not allowed (side coins).
• Half reds are not allowed.
• If opponents’ coin is dropped no need to keep it back on board.
• Scores should be noted based on no. of coins left on the board.
• At the end if both the teams with single coin and red coin then striking of
red should be done first… While striking red if black or white coin is
dropped then (black or white coin with red) on board declared as winner.

• Per coin 1 point


• Red coin 5 points
• Game 15 points
Volleyball
• 6 players on the court at any one time 3 in the front row and 3 in the back
row
• Maximum of 3 hits per side
• Points are made on every serve for winning team of rally (rally-point
scoring).
• Player may not hit the ball twice in succession. (A block is not considered
a hit.)
• Ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve.
• A ball hitting a boundary line is in.
• A ball is out if it hits an antennae/net post, the floor completely outside
the court, any of the net or cables outside the antennae, the referee stand
or pole, the ceiling above a non-playable area..
• It is legal to contact the ball with any part of a player’s body.
• It is illegal to catch, hold or throw the ball.
• A player cannot block or attack a serve from on or inside the 10-foot line.
• After the serve, front-line players may switch positions at the net.
• Matches are made up of sets; the number depends on level of play.
3-set matches and each set matches for 21 points

Each set must be won by two points. The winner is the first team to win 2 sets.
Tennikoit
• Players can only catch or throw the ring with one hand
• The transition between catch and throw should be smooth (no zig-
zag)
• The ring can’t wobble too much when it’s thrown as it should be
smooth
• The player who wins the point makes the next serve from the court’s
baseline.
• Players or the ring can’t touch the net for any reason
• All matches are decided by best of 3 sets, each set consisting of 15
points.
• The koit in play must have upward direction when released from the
hand.
• No over hand shot.
• A koit touching the net during the Service will not qualify and the
point shall be awarded to the opponent(s)..
• A player shall have five Services in a row, no matter whether he takes
or losses the point. Service is always started from the right half court
of the Server.
• A koit is prohibited from entering through the net (meshes) and
falling into the court.

The following are the foul strokes which are penalized:

1) Wobbling 2) Shaking 3) Fore hand back hand shot in Caution Lines /


Restricted Area 4) Throwing 5) Delay 6) Pushing 7) Carrying 8) Body
Touch 9) Pressing 10) Dead-koit 11) Stepping 12) Squeezing 13) Baulking
14) Jumping.
Cricket Girls

• Hard tennis ball is used for matches.


• 10 overs per match innings, Team should be 11 players and four sub.
• A batter may still run and score if they miss the ball or it hits their body.

A batter may be out in the following ways:

• Bowled (ball hits stumps).


• Caught (the ball is caught in the air off the bat, no matter how small the contact).
• Run out (the fielders hit the stumps before the running batters can reach them).
• Stumped (the wicket keeper hits the stumps with the ball when the batter is not behind
their line or crease).
• Hit wicket (the batter hits the stumps with their bat or body).
• There is no Leg Before Wicket (LBW) out,
• One run will be awarded to the batting team for each wide,
• Extra ball & run will be allocated for a wide or no-ball. (where the ball bounces more than
twice before reaching the batter or arrives above waist height without bouncing or bowler
over crossing the crease).
• Wide ball (off side away from bat length from wickets, leg side ball missing wickets)

• Bowling
➢ 2 bowlers can ball three over’s each
➢ 2 bowlers can ball 2 over’s each
➢ Or else 1:1 ratio
TABLE TENNIS
The Server should:

• Start with the ball resting freely on an open palm.


• Project the ball near vertically upwards, without imparting spin, so that it
rises at least 16cm.
• Strike the ball so that it touches first his/her court and then, after passing
over the net assembly, touches directly the receiver's court
• Once the ball has been served, player makes return until a point is
scored.
• The players or pairs first scores 11 points. In the event that both players
score 10 points, a set is be won by the player to gain a 2-point lead.
• A full match is won when a player wins the best of any odd number of 3
sets.

A point is scored when:


• An opponent fails to make a correct service,
• An opponent fails to make a return
• The ball touches any part of an opponent’s body,
• If an opponent, or anything an opponent wears, touches the playing
surface or net during play.
