    I. PRESENT SIMPLE AND PRESENT CONTINUOUS

    a.Forms: a.Forms:

    (-) S + do/does + not + V (-) S + am/is/are + not + V-ing
    (?) Do/Does + S + V? (?) Am/Is/Are + S + V-ing?
    To be: b. Uses:
    S + am/is/are + …. + Hành động mang tính chất tạm thời.
    S + am/is/are + not + …. Eg:
    Am/Is/Are + S + … ? - I usually go to school by bike but today I am

    d. Notes:
    Các động từ ko chia ở tiếp diễn:
    + Giác quan: hear, see, smell, taste, sound…
    + Tình cảm, cảm xúc: love, like, hate, enjoy,
    dislike, want, wish, desire, need…
    + Trạng thái, sự liên hệ, sở hữu: own, belong
    to, have ( có), look ( trông có vẻ), seem (
    dường như), appear ( có vẻ)…
    + Trí tuệ: understand, remember, forget,
    know, agree, disagree…

    II. PRESENT PERFECT VS PAST SIMPLE

    b.Uses: To be:
    + Hành động xảy ra trong quá khứ, kéo dài đến (+) S + was/were+ ….
    hiện tại, hoặc có kết quả lưu ở hiện tại (-) S + was/were+ not + ….
    Eg: I have taught at UTC for 12 years. (?) Was/were+ S + … ?
    + Hđ đã xảy ra nhiều lần trong quá khứ và có b.Uses:
    thể còn được lặp lại trong tương lai + Hành động xảy ra và kết thúc hoàn toàn
    Eg: Susan really loves that film. She has seen trong quá khứ

    c. Identification signs: Now he works in a company.

    Since + mốc thời gian / mđề QK
    d. Notes:
    S + have/has P2 since S + Ved
    Eg: Van Anh has studied English since she was
    6 years old.
    S + be + the first/second… time + S +
    have/has + P2
    Eg: This is the first time Ngoc has eaten this
    kind of food.
    S + be + the + SSHN + S + have/has + P2
    Eg: Dung is the gentlest/ most gentle person I
    have ever met.

    III. PAST SIMPLE VS PAST CONTINUOUS

    + Đã xảy ra tại thời điểm xác định trong Quá + đang xảy ra tại 1 thời điểm /1 khoảng thời
    khứ. gian xác định trong QK.
    Eg: Yesterday Tuan Minh did his homework. Eg: At 1am yesterday Tuan Minh was doing
    + Hđ đang xảy ra (QKTD) thì hđ khác xen vào. his homework.

    Eg: While Bao Chau was studying English, her
    elder sister was playing games.

    + at this time yesterday

    + from 7 to 9 yesterday morning
