1. (a) Rescue operation can be defined as an activity organized to free from danger or to save life during
an incident or dangerous situation.
(b)1. Urban search and rescue: This type of rescue operation is performed where the exact points of
location of the victims are not known for example victims trapped under a collapsed building.
2. Air-sea Rescue operations: Air-sea rescue operation are usually carried out during war by
trained and experienced airmen which may be military or civilian. Air-sea rescue operations
involve a wide variety of resources including seaplanes, helicopters, submarine, rescue boats,
and ships.
3. Rope rescue: This involves the use of static nylon ropes, anchoring and belaying devices to
reach victims and safely recover them.
