High Specialization
Piano Masterclass

Goals
IThe Hig Specialization course is held by Cristina Cavalli, pianist and teacher of
international trajectory. The purpose is to train young pianists to face a
musical/concert career and international competitions, remaining open also to
those who intend to improve their piano playing for educational purposes, but in
both cases through a training path of excellence.

The study repertoire will be freely agreed between teacher and student; the
repertoire includes the preparation of a recital program, centering the main
focuses on:

Connection between gesture and sound


Performance enhancement
Domain of the piano tecnique in function of interpretation
Techniques for improving performance stress and memorization
At the end of the masterclass a Frequency Certificate will bi issued.

Place
The annual masterclass will take place at the Accademia della Musica, in Piacenza, Italy,
vicolo del Guazzo nº2 (5 minutes walking from the train station).

After her official studies, she undertook specialization
courses in Piano and Chamber Music, at the Academy
Incontri col Maestro of Imola and following important
mentors, such as Sergio Fiorentino, Pier Narciso Masi and
Marisa Somma. Her trajectory is international: several
works by European and American composers are
dedicated to her, and she is often asked to hold the First
Playing of new piano works (London, Shanghai, Milan,
Cartagine International Prize Helsinki, Belgrade, Rome).

Mongolia. In 2015 she embarked on her first concert and
masterclass tour in China, debuting with a highly
successful solo recital at the Shanghai Symphony Hall.
Her latest album, Ritratti, was among the winners of the
Global Music Awards in Los Angeles, USA.
She has collaborated with several universities in Europe,
the latest of which is the Faculty of Music of the Alfonso
X El Sabio University (Madrid). In 2020 she was awarded
the Cartagine 2.0 International Prize for the Music
section for musical and human merits, and in 2021 she
was awarded by her hometown as an Italian Benemerita
nel Mondo, for her cultural and philanthropic activity.
She has given masterclasses in Europe, America and Asia
and is the creator and founder of the musical project Ad
Libitum, and co-founder of the Leon Piano Meeting.
She teaches for High Specialization and Post Degree at
the Escuela Superior Musical Arts Madrid. Ms. Cavalli is
currently President of WPTA Italy
(World Piano Teachers Association).

When: November 2024 - May 2025
Limited enrollments: 8 places as active student
Admission to the course is subject to approval by the professor and the organization committee.

Masterclass Options

Option A
10 individual lessons (60 minutes each - or 5
lessons, 120 minutes each (10 hours in total)

18 individual lessons (60 minutes each - or 9

Information and Rules

Pack 2 lessons
Group of two individual lessons, 60 minutes each (PLEASE NOTE: does not give
access to prize concerts and scholarships).

If necessary, all lessons can be attended online.

The dates of the lessons will be agreed with the organization with adequate
advance notice, any absences of the student will not give the right to reschedule
or refunds.

Option A: Registration fee 150 € + Course 1100 €

Option B: Registration fee 150 € + Course 770 €

Option C: Registration fee 150 € + Course 1940 €

Pack 2 lessons: Registration fee 100 € + Lessons 300 €


Deadline for application: 25th October, 2024

Payment can be done in one lump sum or in installments as follows:

Registration (150 euros) by the deadline to reserve your place


First installment by the deadline (Option A 700€, Option B 470€, Option C
1100€)
Second installment (Option A 400€, Option B 300€, Option C 840€) by 15th
January, 2025
The 2-lesson pack is not bound to a deadline, it is subject to the availability
of the teacher and must be paid in a single solution and at least 48 hours
before the first lesson.

In case of installments payment: failure to pay the second installment within


the established timeframe will result in exclusion from the course.
