This is the true joy in life, the being used for a
purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one;
the being of a force of nature instead of a feverish,
selfish little clod of ailments and grievances
complaining that the world will not devote itself
to making you happy.

About the cover page:
The cover page comprises of title Predictive Homoeopathy part
III. It elaborates the thoughts of the author. It has been designed
by the author and executed by artist Bhushan Vijayakar.
11
4. There is a genetic control over all these defenses and hence
the depiction of chromosome in the background.
5. All this is genetically governed and mathematical if
understood properly and hence the sub-title 'Mathematics of
Human Defense against Diseases'.
6. Colour scheme- The colours used are Red-Yellow-Green, the
colours of a signal. Green stands for going on, Yellow
slowing down and Red stop which somehow is similar to
Psora, Sycosis and Syphilis.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
"The secret of success", says Dr. Vijayakar "is that I have
tried to bridge human related sciences, with their recent
advances and the homoeopathic science"
Dr. Vijayakar happens to be the first homoeopathic
physician in the world to have gone into the depth of embryology
and tapped the significance of Herings Law. This is a very big
contribution that he has made to the field of Homoeopathy. A
solid, scientific base has been given to this magnificent science.
This interpretation is put in the form of his chart of suppression.
He is the first Homoeopath to show his failures in seminars and
point out how Homoeopathy can also cause very bad
suppressions when practiced in the wrong way. The chart beauti-
fully illustrates, how disease progresses gradually from one
system to another and how the reversal takes place in cure. It
serves as a clear cut guide in practice.
It is said that the modern medicine has progressed.
Homoeopathy is based on principles which are rock solid but it is
not understood by the people.
In addition to being the first homoeopath to show his
failures in his seminar series, he is also one of the few
homoeopaths to invite questions. The fastest constitutional
prescriber, a quick good look at the patient, his body structure,
body language and his diagnosis of the patient's remedy is ready
as soon as the patient enters and starts talking. He is also the
largest crowd puller to seminars in India today. He stands a
record of 1150 people attending his 3 days seminar in Punjab.
13
Firm and sound knowledge of homoeopathy and human
related sciences, an enquiring and a questioning mind, keen
observation, ability to synthesize the information gathered faster
than any computer, a brave heart, die hard confidence in himself
and in homoeopathic system of medicine and above all the
passion to see beyond the ordinary and then to perceive and find
an explanation, an answer... this is what has led Dr. Vijayakar to
an extraordinary success.
Homoeopaths around the world and Homoeopathy itself
has a lot to gain from this charismatic man! It is not without any
reason that he has been nicknamed the "Lion of Homoeopathy" or
the "Einstein of Homoeopathy". He always says, "Let's grow
together and let us march towards Unity in homoeopathy".

PREFACE
The name of this book has been coined as The end of myasmtion
of miasms. There is no such word as myasmtion but it is a word
derived from a combination of 'miasm' and 'assumption'. The first
two letters 'my' literally mean 'mine'. In short, the theory which I
herewith propose in this book, has been based on firm scientific
facts. The study of modern advances made in pathology and
embryology has helped to decode the actual meaning of what
Hahnemann could have meant by miasm. The application of this
knowledge has helped me to unravel the mysteries of miasm and
thereby helped me to get fantastic results in incurable cases or
cases with grave pathologies. This knowledge has undoubtedly
helped me to do away with all the assumptions, which I had about
this subject. They say when you assume things; you make an ass
out of you and me. This has been happening in homoeopathic
world for a long time and is perhaps the reason why homoeopaths
do not have credibility amongst other therapeutic sciences. This is
also the reason why homoeopaths do not get consistent results.
Whoever had a good knowledge and command over the subject
of miasm, never tried to relate it to the modern science and if they
ever did it, they never tried to propagate it or share it with others.
Because of this, many people have tried to distort the meaning of
this sacred word miasm converting it into a fantasy and with
ulterior motives.
17
here on earth - to become better myself as far as
possible and to make better everything around me that
is within my power to improve- I should have to consider
myself as lacking very much in worldly prudence, to
make known for good of the people, an art which I alone
possess and which is within my power to make as
profitable as possible by simply keeping it a secret.
18
With these three objects in mind, I proceed to put forth an
explanation to the ever debatable, ever confusing 'Doctrine of
Miasm'. Though thoroughly scientific, a touch of philosophy, which
induces logical thinking may give it a line of deductive hypothesis.
It is timely to recall that 50 years ago, Fredrick Gowland Hopkins,
a famous human biochemist stated:
19
nothing of the nature of the 'physical basis of life', which no form
of "philosophy can ignore", He further states "...It is necessary for
a biologist and biochemist (or whoever is interested in the working
and existence of human being even if it be a homoeopath) that
the 'data' collected by them (by means of science) be related with
the activities of the organism as a whole."
20
proposing a new science which Hahnemann did if the limitations
were to remain the same. This means Homoeopaths have missed
on to something important and not understood something which
Hahnemann wanted to convey.
Thus with the above dictates I'm humbly trying to co-relate certain
well known principles of physics, chemistry, biology, genetics,
immunology, human biochemistry and embryology to try and
simplify the doctrine of Miasm so that it may be of help to the
youngsters as it has undoubtedly helped me in curing the higher
level, grave diseases with pathological changes and bring
homoeopathy out of its maligned "symptom or mental relieving"
camouflaged outfit.

Chapter 1
EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER
After a thorough enquiry with the relatives, I found that this was a
regular feature, at least for the last 3 days. This type of shrieking
was occurring at least 6 to 7 times in a day. I took a complete
history and went home with an instruction to the relatives of the
22
patient that they have to come and collect medicine from my clinic
in the evening. I worked hard on the case with my repertory and
referring the books on materia medica and I prepared myself to
give a good remedy to her in the evening. In the evening, nobody
turned up to take the medicine. Next day too, none of the patient's
relatives came. 3 days later I learnt that the same patient was
seen by a senior Homoeopathic physician who prescribed on the
spot and the patient recovered even as I was deciding upon the
remedy. I contacted the physician later and asked him what
medicine had cured the lady. This was to enrich my knowledge. I
was told she had been cured with Helleborus.
Quite a few years later, I was called upon to deal with a case,
which was in similar condition, only the cause was different. The
case was that of advanced astrocytoma with hydrocephalus. The
symptoms were almost the same. The patient, a male aged 37
years, was shrieking for a while and receding into a stupor. I gave
Belladonna, single dose. There was no change. I changed to
Helleborus. Again there was no change. I tried repeated doses of
Belladonna. Yet there was no change. The patient succumbed to
the illness and died.
23
because of cirrhosis of liver and the patient was in a hepatic
coma. Belladonna was prescribed by her (the doctor). The patient
came out of coma. This was all the improvement she got from
Belladonna. Even repetition did not help. The patient did come out
of coma, but could not talk, could not move his limbs. He led a
vegetable life until after 3 months of trial and error, he breathed
his last.
There are however still a few diseases, which, after the most
careful initial examination (Aphorism 84-98) present but one or
two severe, violent symptoms while all the others are but
indistinctly perceptible.
24
More frequently, however, the medicine first chosen in such a
case will be only partially, that is to say not exactly suitable, as
there was no considerable number of symptoms to guide to an
accurate selection.
25
In the last case where the patient of hepatic coma came out with
Belladonna only to lead a vegetable life for 3 months, the very fact
that the patient came out of comatose condition means the
remedy was 'similimum' to that state of coma. The fact that it
removed the comatose condition means probably it corrected the
metabolic encephalopathy or reduced the cerebral oedema, which
happens even with a intravenous drip of mannitol or steroids. The
cause of the metabolic encephalopathy, which in this case was
the cirrhosis, was not controlled and the liver went on getting
damaged, disease went on increasing and the patient died.
26
are peculiar diseases one finds that patient says "I am much
better ever since I started your treatment" and yet he deteriorates
gradually but surely to make a mockery of the principle of 'Similia
Similibus Curanter'.
In all the above cases, the million dollar question is, has the
homoeopathic principle of Similia Similibus its own limitations?
Should it only be of use in physiologically reversible diseases and
fail in more dangerous and terminal diseases? But then we have
heard of so many incurable cases reversed! We have heard and
read of miracles in homoeopathy! Why then are the miracle cures
so rare? Or are they accidental? In short, what are the reasons for
failures of homoeopaths? Why do homoeopaths who boast of
being good interpreters of human mind and having fantastic
analytical brain to discover and invent (newer and newer
remedies) do not know how to cure a case of cancer with
Sulphur?
The answer for all the above questions is in one aphorism by Dr.
Hahnemann - Aphorism 205. It states - homoeopathic physician
never treats one of these primary symptoms of chronic miasms,
nor yet one of their secondary affections that result from their
further development, by local remedies but he cures, in cases
where the one or the other appears, only the great miasm on
which they depend, whereupon its primary as also its secondary
symptoms disappear spontaneously He further writes ....that the
primary symptoms are destroyed by the allopathic physician. The
hypertension which was the cause of the renal failure was
suppressed by allopathic suppressants, thereby removing the
primary reaction of the organism and worsening the secondary
reaction, that of destruction of the kidneys.
27
Let's see what happens at physio-pathological level. The
narrowing of the renal artery causes reduced blood supply to the
kidneys. The kidneys which are now starving from less nutrients
because of less blood supply in turn ask for more. In response,
the organism as a whole reacts by feedback mechanism and
orders the heart to pump blood with greater pressure into the
narrowed arteries so that optimum blood supply to the end organs
is maintained. But the allopathic physician as also the ill-informed
homoeopath tries to reduce the hypertension with local remedies,
which are called anti-hypertensives. The very idea of the
organism to defend its end organ by increasing the pressure now
stands defeated. The kidneys now receive less than optimum
blood supply and hence less nutrition. Thus it starts getting
degraded. The kidney parenchyma gets destroyed not because of
hypertension but because of lowering of blood pressure and the
patient is now ready for dialysis. Thus, the primary course of
atherosclerosis of blood vessels caused by 'Sycosis' miasm goes
untreated, the disease progresses and the patient dies.
In Aphorism 205 he further adds:
.......... the homoeopathic physician finds that primary symptoms
have already been destroyed and he has to now deal with
secondary ones that is affections resulting from the breaking forth
and development of these inherent miasms, but especially with
the chronic diseases evolved from the internal Psora.
28
symptom similarity or a 'core' similarity or a disease similarity, he
means that the 'similimum' should include even the 'miasm
concerned'
In the first case of coma, where the lady was cured by Helleborus,
the primary 'Psora' which was responsible for high fever and
acute diarrhoea that is the inflammatory stage of intestine was
transferred to the meninges giving rise to meningism and later on
cloudy sensorium as the disease progressed to what we call as
'sensorium commune'. This is a purely 'Psoric' derangement of
cerebral functions and of the whole nervous system. There was
no destruction whatsoever in any of the parenchyma of the
organs.
Helleborus was thus not only covering the symptoms but also the
underlying miasms. Therefore she responded well.
The second case of coma was having the same symptoms but the
underlying cause was a malignant astrocytoma. This required a
remedy, which had a power to produce 'growths'. This means I
required a Psoro-Sycotic remedy. Belladonna does not have the
power to produce astrocytoma and hence cannot cure
astrocytoma. Nor does Helleborus have this capacity. Other
remedies in rubric e.g. Cuprum, Aurum, Zinc could have been
indicated. But here I did not use my 'judgment' (as Hahnemann
mentions in Aphorism 177) well. I did not use the symptoms well
to prescribe and stuck to 'homoeopathicity'. The 'miasm' or cause
of the disease was not covered and hence it was not
'homoeopathic' similimum.
29
clinic again and again for the same old bronchitis, wheezing and
fever relapsing at the slightest indiscretion in food or change of
climate. We take the mentals, physicals, and the generals into
consideration and relieve the child to give a result, much faster
and quicker than the contemporary medicines. The mother
happily comes to us because of one advantage. "My child does
not become cranky or loose appetite when on your treatment, as it
happens with the antibiotics" is her contention. This is what
makes her stick to us. But she says, "can't you eliminate my
child's problem permanently and comprehensively?" Instead we
go on prescribing the patient, the patient goes on getting relief -
he goes on relapsing and we go on changing remedies and go on
giving excuses or rather blame the patient for not maintaining
dietetic restrictions or other precautions! But the result is the
patient is 'stuck' to you for years! This is not only in cases of
bronchitis, same vicious cycle or chain-of-events are seen in
patients with arthritis or with migraines, with cases of mental
depressions or any other chronic ailments.
30
During the years 1816 to 18271 have been employed day and
night, with very serious problem of finding out why all the
medicines known to homoeopathy bring about no real cure in the
diseases under discussion and of securing if possible, a clearer
insight into the true state of those thousands of stricken ones, who
remain uncured in the face of unimpeachable truth of
homoeopathic system of healing. Lo! In this time, the Giver of all
good things offered me to solve this sublime riddle for mankind's
good as a result of incessant thought, tireless investigations,
accurate observation and the most careful experiments.
These are Hahnemann's words in the first part of his last medical
work 'Chronic Diseases their nature and homoeopathic treatment'
(Edition, Arnold, Dresden and Leipsic 1828).
Are most of us even today not facing the same serious problem
that Hahnemann, the founder faced, 200 years ago? Then what is
the difference between him and us?
31
problem' offered by Hahnemann, still go on practicing to relieve
temporarily or suppress or let go the patient blaming the 'failure
on homoeopathic science' that the number of drugs proved are
insufficient; that the theory of 'miasms' in not the truth for our own
good; that though there are millions of plants species and millions
of insect species, we have only proved a few hundred and many
more lame excuses are put forth.
The starting point for the main idea of the book was the
observation that certain chronic diseases of venereal origin and
otherwise could be alleviated or relieved by homoeopathic
remedies but not cured. Special conditions, like indiscretion in
32
eating, drinking or change in weather or emotional outbursts
caused the 'apparently' cured symptoms to appear again
frequently with new and stubborn symptoms. New remedies
chosen were also of no avail.
First Hahnemann and his students thought (as we also think
today) that the reason for failure might be found in insufficient
number of remedies proved and the prospects would improve as
more and more remedies would be added to physician's armory.
This could console the students (as of course most of us who are
frantically trying to prove newer remedies to suit our convenience)
but not so with Hahnemann. The Master could not rest satisfied
with it. Day and night, he was occupied with the question why?
Oh, h the carefully selected remedies did not produce 'cure'?
33
able to improve the treatment of chronic diseases and effect a
complete cure of a great family of chronic diseases.
34
frequent observations, Hahnemann had discovered that almost all
(if not all) the chronic diseases, which would not yield to the usual
homoeopathic remedies, had some connection with a 'previous
outbreak of itch'. Itch, a skin disease, which was rampant
centuries back was caused by an insect called 'mite'. When this
was treated locally to make it disappear, a train of evils or
diseases more and more grave followed like pneumonia,
bronchitis, dropsy, epilepsy, hysteria, pthisis etc. Not very
surprisingly, Hahnemann was not the only one to establish the
connections between these chronic maladies and 'expelled itch'.
20 years before Hahnemann published his book on 'Chronic
Diseases' another scientist had referred to this phenomenon.
Authentrieth, a University Professor of Tubingen was
experimenting on this in his clinic in 1808. He had also noticed in
his practical therapy that many chronic diseases resulted from
dislodging the superficial 'itch'. Only difference between him and
Hahnemann was that he attributed it quite wrongly to 'salves'. But
he being an allopath, advocated removal of the itch by silver
sulphur and soft soap which was equally not good.
35
starting point of illness. He traced back the journey of diseases to
the first symptom ever suffered or noticed by the patient. It was
obvious that by now Hahnemann was aware that diseases began
on skin and proceeded inwards. The beginning point or the 'start'
symptoms were traced back right up to the skin, the least
important organ. (Here I refer the reader to my book Predictive
Homoeopathy Theory of Suppression').
How many types of taints could there be? This was a question
looming large in front of Hahnemann.
At this juncture, Hahnemann rued the fact that science was not
advanced enough (in 1828) to allow him to give proper
explanation for his findings.
He wrote in the preface to the fourth volume ............................
36
We have no means of reaching with our senses or of gaining
essential knowledge as to the processes of life in the interior
of man and it is only at times granted as to draw speculative
conclusions.
In the first half of the 19th century, of course there was no electron
microscope, no advances in the field of pathology, immunology,
human biochemistry, leave aside molecular biology and genetics.
He had to work to find the root of chronic diseases only
empirically, experimentally and logically. Experimentally and
analytically, he was able to state that the incurable chronic
maladies owed its origin to only 3 basic 'start' points somewhere
on the skin either itch or venereal warts or chancre. Hahnemann
says in 'Chronic Diseases' "Analytically and logically, I have
concluded that all the chronic ailments owing their origin to a
certain skin disease or expression, had their fundamental origin
firmly established as chronic miasms".
This means their parasitical existence in human organism goes on
continually strengthening and increasing irrespective of healthy
life style, diet or robust constitution. They will never pass away by
themselves, but will grow and vitiate themselves until death
supervenes (that is they will always end in destruction of the
organism). All these benign looking skin ailments of itch, warts or
chancre have a deep- seated origin which are finally the cause of
destruction of man.
Finally probing the patients and their illnesses and their prior
illnesses, he concluded that there are three local visible
diseases, which can be the mothers of 3 groups (classes) of
chronic diseases occurring later in life.
His experiments showed 3 groups as follows:
37
itch.
‘Itch’ (as well as venereal warts and chancre) were not the cause -
but result of the disease which after firmly establishing itself in the
whole organism expressed itself on skin as itch, warts or chancre.
That the chronic disease or miasm had a parasite-like existence
inside the organism which went on strengthening even in a
healthy life style, diet and robust constitution.
38
gave rise to chronic diseases. Only two of his trusted lieutenants
Dr. Staph and Dr. Gross were informed about his works, by Dr.
Hahnemann before the publishing of his book, in order to maintain
complete 'secrecy'. This was exactly because he had anticipated
such 'adverse' reactions, which he thought would be hindering his
research.
39
doctrine of miasm) presented to them!"
Both these thoughts in the mind of Dr. Hahnemann that of 'doubt'
and 'sense of insecurity', were accompanied by hopefulness-
hoping against hope that they (his contemporaries and followers)
will do better.
Chapter 2
40
Chronic Diseases after 12 years of toil and experience. He
declared it as his 'Greatest discovery' without which even
discovery of 'Science of Homoeopathy' was incomplete. He was
fully aware of the consequences of not understanding the theory
of miasms. He also ruled the fact that science was not advanced
enough to provide an explanation to his theory of chronic
diseases. Nevertheless he has put in bold the explanation based
on logic and experience which explains the theory of miasm.
Taking it as pure hypothesis homoeopaths have tried to cash-in
on absence of certain scientific explanations, some have implied
it as a hoax, some tried to dilate, inflate and even distort the
theory of miasm to the extent of adding newer and newer
miasms based on the disease suffered, his is a dangerous Syco-
Syphilitic trend of putting forth imaginary hypothetical
propositions. In the age of sufficient advances of human-related
sciences instead of attempting to explain the fantastic
Hahnemannian thoughts which are of almost Nostradamic
perfection, such modification of miasms shall only end up
confusing the already confused homoeopathic lot and lead to
certain doom of homoeopathy for those who blindly follow it.
41
and can be that my solution to the incurable miseries of mankind
in the distant future, one is waiting for. Waiting for the 'distant
future' the Sycotic minds amongst us float theories beyond the
realms of human realities. Theories and hypotheses were
proposed by Hahnemann 200 years ago because science was
not advanced enough. Theories or hypothesis being proposed by
homoeopaths today either stink of sly intention of 'one-
upmanship' on the great master or to lure' the 'mesmerizable'
homoeopaths like the pied piper to make homoeopathy a 'mid
summer night's dream'.
42
carefully and honestly interrogated.
When one deals with only the mind in arriving at the similimum,
one tends to go into abstract or spiritual dimensions.
Imaginations and conjenctures take the place of facts and
solidity. Whether it is in materia medica or in the understanding
of the miasms, this imagination or conjenctures are exactly what
Hahnemann has told us to avoid. Such conjenctures are good
enough to catch the imaginations of the gullibles and those who
like to theorize and fantasize. Building castles in the air is always
going to have shaky foundations especially when not
substantiated with enough proofs of concrete and consistent
results. Such a distortion of facts of homoeopathy will invariably
lead to it's doom.
43
spirit and mind’ in solid appearing body, there must be a sense to
it and relation between each other. He has not created anything
useless in this world. Was Almighty a 'fool' to create a cage in
the form of body to retain the abstract part of us? Why, then, did
he create different features and structures in different people with
different natures? and molecular biology has amply proved it.
(Note - Scientists in USA have been able to reconstruct an image
of a murderer or a rapist from a clue offered by genes in tissue-
cells of the criminal, retrieved from nails of the victim. And this
can include height, weight, age, looks, complexion, nature etc.)

Chapter 3
THE MATERIALISTIC BODY TO THE
IMMATERIALISTIC MIND
45
systems are made up of organs and organs are made up of
tissues, which in turn are made up of number of cells. The cell
is a unit of life which is having almost all the properties of the
man himself, as its functioning is governed by the genes and
the genetic code which is inside the nucleus. This comprises
of what is known as 'the geno-type'.
46
Although they had relatively simple structure, there was
presence of intelligence and hence they could adapt to suit
their needs. The basic functions of the cell, arose from the
needs.
The food available to the cell in the form of proteins, lipids and
carbohydrates was broken down step by step in a sequence into
smaller biological molecules. By oxidation of these biological
molecules, cells obtained energy. Energy was stored in the form
of A.T.P. in the mitochondria.
47
oxidation and eliminate the waste CO2.
lb) The Digestive system: which helps in digestion and
assimilation of the food molecules.
(c) The Excretory system: which helps us to eliminate the
waste products through stool urine and skin
(perspiration).
(d) The Metabolic activity in humans, which helps in
production of energy A.T.P.
The world of 'living beings' is, was and will always be hostile. The
living beings, which in this material world represent a fraction of
cosmic energy which rules the universe, have to follow the laws
of energy. The second law of bio-energetics states, "that every
system (living being is also a system) has to degrade". Thus
every life has to end. Every living being has to die. But the first
function of oxygenation, nutrition and energy production is
meant for 'survival'. Life becomes a tug-of-war between two
forces - one for survival and another for destruction. Darwin's
theory of 'survival of the fittest' holds good only because the
DNA, RNA oriented genetic structure of the living organism
constantly shows adaptations in the organism to help it to
prolong life. But the period of life is limited and that is the
'eternal truth'. Nothing in this world can be immortal. An
organism tries its level best to improve it's own quality of life by
adaptations but a time comes when it has to perish. The 'life
which we lead could be a waste', so the 'living being' decided
48
not to let go what it has achieved in its lifetime by producing one
of its own kind. "If not me, my progeny will continue my work in

score over the destiny of mortality by cloning myself. I am too
selfish to give up all that I have learned all that I have achieved.
I'll deceive fate, I'll not let my gains. I have to reproduce,
reproduce, reproduce!". This may have been the philosophy
behind the development of the second function - that of
propagation or production or generation.

developed a system or mechanism called the immune system.
50
The material body, which is made up of cells, suffers from
various diseases.
Many times causes were not known or at least were not known
until the recent advances in molecular biology and genetics.
51
All physical diseases can be traced to 'organ injury' Virtually all
forms of 'organ injury' starts with physiological, molecular or
structural alterations in cells' - This concept was first put forward
by Rudolf Virchow, known as 'father of modern pathology', many
years ago.
52
homoeopath considers himself a holistic healer, he has no right
to neglect the 'unit of life', which is the cell. The 'cell', which
makes up a tissue, to form an organ and ultimately the system, is
the building block of 'man' and is very much a part of holistic
approach.

(b) all changes are governed by genetic make-up of the
individual;
(c) 'changes' differ according to the 'state' of the organism, vis-
a-vis the defense of the organism against the perseverance of
the stimulus and that too is governed by genetic apparatus.

single dimensional existence; if there is -day there has to be a
night ; if there is a color which is black there has to be white; if
there is good there has to be evil. Two opposites have to co-exist
if this world has to go on. Thus if there are factors to prolong life
there are also factors which try to end life.
The factors that are hostile to other's life, try to attack a living
being in order that they themselves survive. The attacked
organism uses all the means at his disposal to combat the hostile
forces. There is thus a constant combat going on between the
offensive and defensive forces and result is "survival or death".
The cell is attacked not only by animate but also inanimate
things. Symptoms produced due to this combat are what are
identified as 'diseases'.
58
'coolie' or a 'loader' who is used to lifting heavy weight has his
arms and forearm muscles gradually bulging in order to meet the
increased demands on them. Increase in muscle mass is due to
increase in size of individual muscle fibers. The work load is thus
shared by a greater mass of cellular components and each
muscle fiber is spared of excess work and so escapes injury.
This adaptive response is called 'hypertrophy'.
59
If in case of constant stimulus the adaptations are not sufficient
to re-establish ‘homoeostasis’, cell injury occurs. The cell injury
can be reversible or irreversible.

like, are exciting causes of such acute febrile affections; in reality
however, they are generally only a transient explosion of latent
Psora, which spontaneously returns to its dormant state if the
acute diseases were not of too violent a character and were soon
quelled.

CELL DEFENSES AT WORK
62
63
Call defense mechanism
Every cell or living organism faces damage or cell injury from
pathogens, toxins, chemicals, radiations, thermal factors etc.
It has different types of mechanisms to defend itself.
A-Physiological defense
B-Morphological defense.
64
acids on the skin epithelium. It may induce a ‘cell' to produce
free fluid in large quantity so that the bacteria or fungus can be
washed off. This is commonly observed in cases of upper
respiratory tract invasion by any organism where first defense is
the production of fluent coryza.
65
tissues.
66
It is needless to say that the microbes like bacteria, viruses, fungi
or toxins are not necessarily the cause for pathological
inflammations but some change prior to it, in the tissues, which
acts as an invitation to pathogens and results in easy
inflammations, The first defense of inflammation is often
associated with irritation, sensitivity, redness, swelling and
sometimes anesthesia.
67
simultaneous affair along with reduction in vascularization and
pain stiffness guarding, again, a protective mechanism should go
away only after inflammation and pain have subsided. The use of
muscle relaxants is dangerous as the 'guarding' by muscles is
relaxed even before inflammation has subsided. Functio-laesa
that is loss of function.
The dreaded inflammatory diseases, mentioned above, are all
due to the first defense mechanism at work. If most of the
dreaded inflammatory diseases mentioned are due to the first
defense mechanism at work, then there is a possibility that most
of the other diseases, which do not fall into this category, are
also due to cell defense mechanism at work.
Let us imagine for the time being a situation where two people
are sitting next to each other. One of them Mr X the aggressive
one tries to 'poke' the second Mr Y with a pointed instrument in
the arm. Mr Y basically a peaceful, non-aggressive person,
cannot fight and does not want to fight and therefore tries to
avoid the 'poke' which is irritating by bringing about mere change
in body position, the structure remaining the same. This defense
from the 'poke' or 'irritation' is brought about with the existing
physiology and anatomy. This is equivalent to 'physiological
defense'.
68
period, it can be destructive and dangerous to life. It can, in the
long run make Mr Y feel brittle. He wants to survive so he invents
a novel method to defend himself from this. He places a fat
pillow or constructs a wall or a barricade, which he thinks will
protect him from harmful effects of the ‘poking’ irritation.
Somewhat on the same lines the ‘cell’, which also has a ‘mind’
governed by the genetic apparatus, tries to defend itself.
At the level of the 'cell' and its parts 'accumulations' start taking
place. The accumulations can occur in cell wall or cytoplasm.
Cell wall starts thickening by excess accumulation of lipids,
proteins or glycogen etc. Thus a 'Wall of China' is developed to
protect the cells from irritation. This thickening occurs due to
excess production of everything within the cell or system.
The Pathology, which can arise out of such a defense includes
growth or thickening pathologies like polyps, warts, cysts, tumors,
atherosclerotic plaques, deposition of pigments and minerals.
69
changes the constructive changes, he might decide to cut off the
arm or the part, which is being poked or under attack.
He decides this defense to save the whole body from the effects
of the attack on the local parts. When the first defense of
inflammation is not sufficient to take care of the invading hostile
stimulus, the cell may undergo changes at the genetic level. It
shifts it's gear of defense to defend or to save the whole
organism by destroying a part of it.

This response starts with hypoxia and ischemia leading to
depletion of energy generation. This in turn affects the cell
functioning and health.
It states:
Among chronic diseases we must still, alas! Reckon those so
commonly met with, artificially produced in allopathic treatment
by the prolonged use of violent heroic medicines in large and
increasing doses, by the abuse of calomel, corrosive, sublimate,
mercurial ointment, nitrate of silver, iodine and its ointments,

venesections, shedding streams of blood, leeches, issues,
setons, etc., whereby the vital energy is sometimes weakened
to an unmerciful extent, sometimes, if it do not succumb,
gradually abnormally deranged (by each substance in a peculiar
manner) in such a way that, in order to maintain life against
these inimical and destructive attacks, it must produce a
revolution in the organism, and either deprive some part of its
irritability and sensibility, or exalt these to an excessive
degree, cause dilatation or contraction, relaxation or
induration or even total destruction of certain parts, and
develop faulty organic alterations here and there in the
interior or the exterior (cripple the body internally or
externally), in order to preserve the organism from complete
destruction of life by the ever-renewed, hostile assaults of
such destructive forces.
In the above aphorism Dr. Hahnemann talks about chronic
diseases being most often the result of prolonged use of ‘violent’
‘heroic’ medicines in large doses and here he mentions many of
them which were in use at the time. These medicines, he says
weakens the vital energy to unmerciful extent and more often
than not, the organism succumbs to it. If not then the organism
and its vital energy fights against the injurious agents. This fight
he calls as 'revolution' in order to maintain life. It is as if the
organism must produce a revolution or defense mechanism
against the injurious agent, if it is to survive.
He clearly mentions 3 types of revolutions :-
(I) Either deprive some part of its sensibility and
irritability or exalt them to excessive degree as it occurs
in complex syndrome which follows physiologic defense
(rubor, dolor, calor, tumor functio laesa). – Psora
(II) Cause dilatation, relaxation, contraction or
induration.
77
Dilatation is caused by less fibrin (Sycosis less)
Relaxation of tissues is caused by less elastin (Sycosis

78
In a letter to Dr. Friederich Golthelf Baugmaster (Allg. Hom.ztg.
Vo. 32 page 42) Hahnemann wrote in 1820 "In the homoeo-
pathic writings as yet published, there is still lacking, the great
keystone which binds together all that has been so far
published so that we may be able to improve the treatment of
chronic diseases". He further writes: by thousands of
experiments, I have at last attained my object. None of my
pupils as yet know anything of this ‘invaluable discovery’, the
work of which to mankind exceeds all else that I have ever
discovered and without which all existing homoeopathy remains
defective or imperfect. And this Aph. 74 holds the great
keystone. The keystone which solved the mystery of incurable
diseases. The keystone which revealed that the organism
revolts in only 3 different ways to give rise to 3 different type of
diseases at the base of which are miasms - Psora, Sycosis,
Syphilis.
79
responses are only secondary to the first. The primary response
of inflammation is from childhood and no individual can survive
without it. Therefore Psora (inflammation) is the mother of all
diseases . Sycosis and Syphilis are only secondary to Psora
because the destructive and con structive pathologies cannot
exist without the primary inflammation. Since nobody can survive
without the first physiological response nobody can free of Psora.
80
Chapter 9
ACUTE PSORA
81
(i) Nutritional imbalances
All the above factors cause cell injury and bring out the cellular
defensive response which may start as reversible and end in
irreversible or death. Interestingly, Hahnemann has mentioned
almost all the above causes as exciting causes and injurious
influences which cause, as he states, transient explosion of latent
Psora.
They are of such kind as attack several persons at the same time
(i) infectious agents (ii); meteoric, telluric influences physical
agents e.g. atmospheric changes and radiation (iii) and injurious
agents (chemical agents and drugs) the susceptibility for being
morbidly affected by which are possessed by only a few persons

at the time (here Hahnemann implies genetic predispositions and
immunologic relations).
83
Hahnemann calls as burst of ‘latent Psora’, which equates to
acute diseases
(Aphorism 73).
84
Hahnemann mentions that ‘every agent’ and ‘every medicine’
deranges the vital force and causes alteration in health for longer
or shorter period. Vital force endeavours to oppose it. This
resistant action is a property or automatic action of our life
preserving power. It means that our vital force or the force, which
pervades our cells and tissues and the whole being. In its own
intelligent way is trying to save our life.

95
individual is 'tainted' with or 'polluted' with or have traces of
'certain behaviour' it is bound to lay an impact on every part of
the cell and individual.
This is true for all human beings as well. As we know the genes
make a man or any living being, these genes are responsible for
their physical structure, mental make up and other tolerances,
intolerances or susceptibility. If 'genes' have timidity and lack of
will as one of the qualities then compensatorily there are other
qualities the genes 'have to' or 'must' develop to create a balance
96
so that individual survives. For example, if an individual
possesses the gene of timidity, weak will then it is obvious that
this timidity can never make him fight a battle for survival. This
quality cannot give him toughness needed to frighten or fight the
opponent, therefore it has to be endowed with the innate
characteristic 'to escape' or the quality 'to resign' or be 'mild', with
'no confidence' in oneself or to be 'bashful' or 'to hide' etc. All
these negative innate characteristics basically develop as a
reaction of the 'negative will'.
97
Similar things have been observed in humans too. Not as a rule,
but many times timid Calcarea patients have their upper teeth
projected outwards. All this of course comes under the purview of
'physiognomy', which is not our topic here for now. This is only to
heighten one fact that man, his structure and nature develops
purely as a reaction or rather defensive reaction to hostile
stimulus, which it faces from outside or from inside and in terms
of nature he possesses.
98
The genetic code decides the reactions of an individual to an
action. Example: If a person throws a stone on a group of people
standing on the road the reaction of every person is going to be
different governed by his individual genetic code. One person
could be fast enough to see the stone coming at him and take
evasive action, another could be taken aback or surprised by the
stone being hurled at him and become frightened or panicky, a
third might not be keen or sharp enough to notice the stone at
such short interval of time and got struck badly or take a wrong
evasive action. A fourth might get angry at the situation and can
catch the stone and hurl it back at the thrower in protest. A fifth
might not realize what happened even after he is struck down.
99
governed. Whether the cell should inflame, indurate or ulcerate
depends upon the genetic code character of the cell.
If all these are defense oriented then even the 'cures' the real
cure should be 'defense oriented'. Aim of 'real cures' have to be
by boosting the defense mechanism of the individual rather than
attacking the hostile stimulus. Rightly so Dr. Hahnemann
denounced the concept of treating the disease in man and
proposed the concept of treating man in disease. He proposed
that the treatment should be done only by taking into
consideration the mental make-up, physical make-up, general
make-up, all of which are the products of the genetic code and
hence reflect the defense trait or miasm.
100
whole genetic set up of an individual is designed to ensure that
the mind, physique, tolerances, likes, dislikes as well as
susceptibility to diseases are designed for prolonged survival of
individual.
Similarly:

layer). A bronchitis disappearing or an asthma getting relieved
by partial similimum may show up as 'arthritis' or spondylitis (third
layer). A sciatica, spondylitis, or joint pain disappearing with
partial similimum could result in volatile hypertension or stress
hypertension or ischaemic heart disease which is characterized
by what the cardiologists call as unstable angina. The unstable
angina as the name suggests, has instability, which is associated
with biochemical changes in the intima of arteries. The psoric
'ischaemia' or lack of blood supply to heart is due to spasmodic
constriction of the blood vessel rather than any 'concrete'
'structural obstruction' associated with arteriosclerosis which has
origin in 'Sycosis.
Sycotic Constitutions:

inflammations. Insidious diseases like diabetes, high blood
pressures, anaemias, hyperlipidemias, ischaemias, are common
at an early age. Warts, moles, keloids thrown up externally gives
us an indication that the patient has entered the sycotic defense
stage.

were forced to change the gear of defense to destructive defense
at the level of neuro-ectoderm that is the retina and that too in a
short period of one month. We can here conclude, that the child's
disease had gone from ectoderm to endoderm to straight neuro-
ectoderm, (instead of mesoderm) indicating a remedy, which
does not follow the rules, or with a hysterical trait. The remedy
had to be fast in speed, looking at the speed with which the
disease had progressed. Therefore a destructive, Syphilitic, fast,
revolting, chilly and thirsty remedy which is badly influenced by
bad effects of vaccination was selected and that was Mercurius
Sol.
PART-II
106
Chapter 15
All the above facts suggest that the vital force or the force, which
107
pervades the cells, has its own intelligence. (Surprisingly many
Homoeopaths call vital force unintelligent). It looses the
intelligence in the Syphilitic miasm when it looses control and
starts sacrificing important organs.
Thus the cell or the organism fights physically only with guidance
108
from the 'mind of the cell'.
Mind of the cell is in its genes. The genes decide nether this
individual is going to be coward courageous, audacious or timid,
angry or anxious, haughty or servile etc. These and other
genetic traits further express themselves through emotions of
fears, anxieties, loves, attachments, hates etc. As we know and
have already seen that the world of life depends on defense
(Darwin's law of survival of fittest). Defense can be physical or
mental. We saw the cell defending in face of physical attack.
Now we'll see how the cell defends the attack mentally.
109
and change this body for being better and better suited for life.
And the higher purpose of life is to change for the better and
evolve for better and peaceful existence.

Chapter 16
PSORIC MENTALS

beyond normal senses but rationally.
[Diligently working for 'materialistic gains and greed' and not for
needs is Sycotic and not Psoric. Overworking, uncontrolled
desire to work without caring for life, can be Syphilitic. Thus
workaholics can be Sycotic, Syphilitic]
112
things required to sustain life. The man's needs are (a) earning
daily bread to provide energy and (b) knowledge which
ultimately helps him to earn bread and which also helps him to
protect himself.
Similarly for a 'cell' the need is oxygen and nutrition which will
provide him energy.
'Body always speaks the 'mind's language'. Body and mind are
not two different things but two poles of the same 'axis'. Thus
the 'sensitivity' is increased also at body level to give rise to
'pain-factor'. The pain-factor' essentially is 'Psoric'.
'Hypersensitivity’ of body level can give rise to allergies and
hypersensitivity. Thus rhinitis, bronchitis, asthmas etc. caused
by sensitivity to fur, dust, pollens, cold air or change of
113
temperatures or any food articles which commonly go under the
term 'allergies' are increased sensitivities, a purely Psoric
defense. When a skin is scraped or scalded, the upper
protective layer is no more present and the exposed skin is now
sensitive not only to sharp, pointed or metallic things but
becomes sensitive to even a silk cloth or a cotton piece.
Similarly a sensitive mind starts getting hurt and offended very
easily by matters like jokes, reprimands and rudeness etc which
otherwise would have gone unfelt and unnoticed.
All this time the cell was fighting a lone battle with a hostile
stimulus purely using 'physiologic defense'. The physiological
defense is the most primary defense and every being has to go
114
through it.
After the first defense the 'organism' is not bound to go to the two
secondary defenses in order of Psora > Sycosis > Syphilis or
Psora > Syphilis > Sycosis. The secondary defensive
mechanism, as the books of pathology tell us, totally depends
upon the genetic code of the individual organism.
115
A constitution, which uses constructive pathology more often and
more easily due to the inherited or acquired trait in the genes is
'Sycotic constitution'. The constitution, which uses destructive
pathology easily and predominantly is 'Syphilitic constitution'. In
cases where both Sycosis and Syphilis have been inherited, say
for example 'Sycosis' from father and 'Syphilis' from mother, then
the one, which is dominant and the genes which are activated,
will determine the pathology or the uppermost miasm at that
particular time. If 'Syphilis' is the dominant trait, then the child can
suffer from destructive pathologies first e.g. in nose-ozaena,
caries of nasal cartilage; or retinal degeneration etc. at a young
age. This could later on switch to 'Sycosis' or constructive de-
fense pathologies and the child can start showing signs of warts,
excrescences, polyps, or even a brain tumor. In another child, it
could be exactly opposite.
But all said and done every cell has to use primary response or
physiological defense before either going to any of the
'secondary responses'. 'Psora' has to be the fundamental miasm
before Syphilis or Sycosis can come in and that is the ultimate
truth.
116
Chapter 17
SYCOTIC MENTALS
117
invader, the cell's mind uses all the 'guiles and tricks'. It may put
up a 'show' to make itself 'foppish' to hide and 'project' what it is
not. This false projection of exterior not reflecting the interior, is a
part of the shrewd, sly, maneuvering tactics for self defense.
Painlessness of complaints which are otherwise painful is
classical example of such tactics. The whole mentality is based
on selfish motives and gratification of urges. All this it does
shamelessly.
118
what is your chief complaint they will start their narration right
from their childhood. A man who just wanted to give a news that
his wife aborted, has started his narration right from the time he
came home from work in the evening, after which he took his
wife for a long walk, where they botl1 ate some delicious ice
creams and how they took a detour from the market to the park
and around the park, to his place of residence and then see how
his wife complained about spasmodic pain in the abdomen and
then how she was taken to the hospital and she aborted. In
contrast, a Sycosis under expressive would have just finished the
whole thing as….. 'Doctor - bad news - my wife aborted'. Some
loquacious people whilst narrating one topic may loose their
thread and go to another topic. Some of the patients who try to
impress upon the importance of their complaint end up
exaggerating. People who talk vivaciously, with flowery
language, who are very eloquent (Lach, Op), who are flatterers
or who talk about money, making money or about luxuries and
amusements rather than daily needs and necessities, tend to
have 'Sycosis' trait.
119
to this group. For them, mother and grand parents or a maid is
someone who is taken for granted. The child knows these people
with whom he spends most of the time, as very harmless. These
are the people who give him 'love' and never mean him harm.
He has nothing to fear from them and therefore can dictate terms
with them. The father, who is not present throughout the day is
taken as an outsider. He may be harmful to the child as would be
a 'boss' in an office or 'teacher' in the school. Such people could
be potentially harmful. In front of them the child who is devil at
home could become a meek timid entity. Such may be the
sycotic variations of Lachesis, Lyco, Veratrum or Platina.
120
So the 'progeny' production was supposed to be a 'maneuver' to
deceive destiny (death). That even death should not make me
part with 'my' invaluable. The selfish motives, self-interests, self-
centeredness, fear of loss and deception perhaps drove the cell
to evolve mitosis to create a 'ditto'. But there were other forces
acting in the world, which prevented a 100% 'ditto' or a 'clone'.
Even a humanly architectured , scientifically perfect method
cannot produce a 'clone' which can be cent percent 'identical'.
The obvious reason for this is that identity does not only depend
upon 'genes'.
121
In short any being, which lives, has to defend to live. And
anything, which ‘defends’, cannot be 'identical'. Even identical
twins react differently in the same situation. The defense
miasms, which are modes of defense, prevent identical
existence and hence is the base of what Hahnemann calls
individualization.
There is a bad side to this same quality too; when a 'sly' element
122
is added to this 'intellect' it makes a perfect pirate. Pirated books,
stories, songs, films and even theories are offered to the world
'camouflaged' as originals. Copying 'clandestinely' taking three to
four theories and combining and dishing out a brand new one is
a surreptitious act of a Sycosis excess intellect.
123
and beat-en-up are both trying to overpower each other. Once
success after success is achieved then the psoric anxiety
disappears 'Now to hell with the conscience'. The person
becomes 'thick-skinned', (a slang but apt phrase used to describe
Sycosis by layman inadvertently). Verbatim he becomes 'thick'
due to accumulation Sycosis. Though fear lurks from within, a
thick wall of rationalization is built. He goes on acquiring the
needs, which within short time turns to greed. The easy money
later is used to carry on this same business of flicking pockets by
using smaller thieves hired by him. He becomes the 'boss' of a
gang protected by guards sitting in the safety of home (coward),
not risking his dear life and getting his work done from others.
This organization may acquire larger dimensions, sometimes
even to international levels. The petty thief who once started as a
pauper becomes a person with high ambitions, acquires high
standards of living and becomes most exclusive and too elusive.
He operates internationally with a big nexus of people and
gangsters ready to work for him, die for him and kill for him all at
a price, which he is more than willing to pay. He is the 'brain'
behind. Very often he manipulates and maneuvers his way to
become a respectable, charitable magnanimous philanthropist,
V.I.P., industrialist or even a minister. All credit goes to his
Sycotic brain.
124
for gratification of sexual urge makes the 'fertile' Sycotic mind
manipulate circumstances to achieve what they want. The 'boss'
enjoying a 'clandestine' affair with his secretary or multitudes of
them and then when threatened with obvious consequences,
getting cold feet due to the coward nature is an ideal example of
Sycosis morals. Fear of being caught or exposed, loosing his
social position is upper most in his mind. 'Flirting' with ladies,
ideas, jobs and even dangers may make him appear capricious
or even frivolous. The mind is full of 'lust' leading to
lasciviousness in acts and speech. Such constitutions very often
suffer from bad effects of 'masturbation' or 'debauchery'.
125
silently is petrified. There is a sense of 'insecurity' what if my
parents divorce. The child is sensitive to all this and weeps and
gets frightened because of his predominant psora. The timid
constitution is sensitized everyday and weeps until the tears dry.
He tries to pacify the parents in his own way. But for him, he is
trying to change his parents, which he can never succeed. They
are blinded by their egos. The poor child's primary reaction of
weeping and pleading to the hostile stimulus of parent's fights
has failed. He mentally shifts his gear of defense. He is as if
orphaned. He decides to grow, to grow on his own. His second
defense of Sycosis switches on. He becomes precocious. He
becomes too much matured for his age. At the raw age of 7 yrs.
or 8 yrs., he starts having all the qualities of an adult. He starts
advising his mother about how to behave and how not to and
very often right. His decisions are mature. He stands first in his
class, immense intellectual capacity. This may go to the extent of
the child being recognized as a child prodigy. All his faculties are
well developed. Even the sexual maturity or the interest in sex
develops too early in childhood. He may start hugging and
kissing, touching breasts of mother, maids or even other ladies
which may go unnoticed for his age. The oedipus reflex of
children prematurely matures into sexual affliction.
The child has shifted from Psora to Sycosis too early in age.
126
Such a child looses its childhood too early. He prematurely
matures into an adult. The pity is that the child has skipped one
'phase' in his life. Diseases, which he starts suffering, are also
Sycotic. He may be soon diagnosed as suffering from diabetes.
Doctors diagnose this as juvenile diabetes - the childhood
diabetes and declare it as congenital or genetic. This is not true.
This is neither diabetes insipidus nor due to genetic aberration.
This is early onset diabetes. The child who used to suffer from
Psoric or inflammatory and infective diseases like viral rhinitis,
bronchitis or recurrent diarrhoea does not suffer from it any more.
Suddenly his tendency to take infections seems to have
vanished. The diseases caused due to immune impairment in the
endoderm is now suppressed to higher level or more important
organ that is pancreas. The type of defense that is miasm has
also changed from Psora to Sycosis (either it starts chronic
inflammation of pancreas or due to arteriosclerosis setting in too
early to block the blood supply to islets of langerhans in
pancreas).
There are other groups of children who suffer from different fate.
The fate of Sycosis less. We have seen some children come to
us for bad performance in schools. The story is very identical.
Until the child was in the 5th grade, the child used to score well in
127
all the subjects. He was considered to be one of the brilliant
students. Only, his health would not permit him to pursue his
studies well. He used to suffer from recurrent asthmatic
bronchitis. He did not respond to antibiotics and so was put
under homoeopathic treatment, which acted like a miracle. His
attacks have become much less as almost nonrecurring. Body
may or may not grow but his performance at school has gone
down. He has started getting 'easy fatigue'. He sleeps or at least
needs sleep of 10 hours or more. It is difficult to awaken him.
These children cannot score good marks in mathematics or
languages but do very well in science especially scientific
experiments. They do become expert in handling electrical
gadgets. They can even repair them. The mind works good in
machines, computers etc. but cannot comply with studies. Very
often they are even stamped as 'dyslexic'. Physically the child
does not grow in height. He becomes broad but 'stunted'. Bony
structure becomes prominent. In such cases the right brain may
grow but left does not make progress. Sensitivity, creativity,
imaginations show tendency to growth but are brutally covered
up by Sycosis. There are some cases where opposite happens.
Creativity, imagination takes a back seat. The left brain
dominates and growth can make him a good leader and ideal
businessman at a young age, but school studies suffer. (These
different aspects of selective growth retardation need to be
considered while arriving at a similimum to cure).
128
is of no avail the child decides to stand-up to the torture. He
acquires the second defense and becomes 'thick-skinned'.
"Come on beat me as much as you can, I shall never show you
that I am hurt" is the silent revolt. These sensitive children get
hurt but cover it up, do not show, hide their feelings and then go
and weep in privacy. We can literally see the eyes flooded with
tears not allowed to be let down. Their skin gradually becomes
dry. Their palms almost show corny thickness. Their hair
becomes dry, rough and curly. Their hair are difficult to comb
and are short and compressed like a cap to the scalp. All these
are ample evidence of lost childhood; lost love, fear filled life.
(Magnesium, Natrum Muriaticum very often have such hair).

'anguish' of Syphilis.

or Psorinum will have more anxieties and less number of
fears or vice versa. A remedy, which is 'broad spectrum',
meaning tri-miasmatic (or in homoeopathic language
called polychrest) will have Psoric rubrics, Sycotic rubrics
and Syphilitic rubrics to represent the miasm, which they
cover. This is the base of my Tri-miasmatic materia
medica.)
Grief: How can one over express her grief? Crying, wailing or
to attract pity or sympathy of others is characteristic of 'Sycosis'
over expressiveness. Moaning, grumbling, involuntary sighing
indicates hidden grief of Sycosis less.
133
Anger: Sycosis excess means accumulation, collection. When
such an accumulation takes place in arterial walls, the arteries
get thickened to give rise to arteriosclerosis. This is a gradual
process. This pathology gives rise to resistance to flow of
blood. The resistance occurs also due to thickening and accu-
mulation of fats in the surrounding tissue as well as inside the
blood (Hyperlipidemia). When there is an obstruction or
resistance to any smooth flow, everything is slowed down.
Naturally the reaction is bound to be anger. Even the heart
muscles, which could pump the blood to different parts easily,
feels that unnecessarily it has to put on extra effort. To put on
the extra effort the muscle mass has to be increased
(hypertrophy). This is an 'anger arousing' situation. Hence most
of the hypertensive patients tend to loose their cool and
become angry at the slightest drop of a hat. Anger on
contradiction, anger easily, anger involuntary, anger about pain
(something which acts as an impediment), anger when
disturbed, interrupted, temper tantrums, anger with obstinacy,
(anger:- temper tantrums, opposed, when in the least Thuja).
134
'inhibitory Sycosis in the fact that the anger there is suppressed,
not expressed, with reserved displeasure.
It differs from Psoric anger in the fact that Psoric anger is due
to paroxysm, spasm, irritation hence is sudden, violent,
temporary, followed by quick repentance.
135
secretary with expensive gifts, a minister's P. A. receiving costly
gifts from public, stinks of 'Sycosis' exhibition of love with ulterior
motives. Even the size, shape, color of the gifts purchased by
Sycotic people will inadvertently reflect the Sycotic mind. Their
gifts will be big or large in size so as to impress their love in
proportion. The colors will be bright, decorative and attractive.
The articles will be unique and uncommon reflecting the
importance of the giver (not the recipient of the gift!). On the
other hand, gift given by the Psoric constitutions will be in
proportion to the importance of the person receiving the gift. The
gift will be small more daily-use-oriented, less decorative and not
very expensive. The teenage love is also quite exalted, ex-
pressive with uninhibited hugging and kissing. It may border on
lasciviousness and lewdness with no importance to morals or
conscience. Excess desire for sex may lead a man of immoral
character to adultery or debauchery. Love for animals even may
be an offshoot of overflowing love.
Overflowing love for society and overflowing love for God will
136
Overflowing love for humanity may make good philanthropist,
with their names 'etched in gold' or associated with every project
making them immortal.
Overflowing love for God and may be the fertile mind of Sycosis
make a religious philosopher. The 'philosopher', social or
religious with his profuse flowing thoughts, fertile imaginations
and command on speech and eloquence has the ability to
mesmerize the ordinary man with this quality. He can lead peo-
ple in right direction, on the other hand even mislead the
masses. (Even the homoeopathic world is not free from such
philosophers. Masses of homoeopaths are led away from reality
by fascinating rosy imaginations. Such theorizing has been
condemned by Hahnemann himself in Aphorism No. 144).
137
vanity, ostentation, pretentiousness, affectation are all arising
out of 'Sycosis'.
138
people are Sycotic. Those who preach to be noble, mild, never
angry, never jealous, never cursing and do not practice the
same for themselves are 'Sycotic'. Religion, when used to
fragment the peace of society, acquires 'Sycotic' hue.
Religiousness should arise purely from love for God and not fear
of God. Prayer to God often includes one's demands and
desires. "Oh, Lord let me pass my exams with flying colors or let
me get a good job or even let my income increase so that I can
purchase a car and house". These are purely selfish, self
centered prayers. A lady priest' coming for treatment requested
to be taken in early, she wanted her to be given preference over
others because she said, she had a vast followers for whom she
was a 'Messiah'. Cure 'me' and you'll be doing good to so many
sufferers who come to me. I am equal to many and therefore I
advise you to give me preference. God will definitely bless you!
This is a Sycotic request. A person who thinks himself or
herself as a God's messenger or messiah or one who feels his
or her 'pompous importance', is not real religious person but
Sycotic religious person. This lady's congestive cardiac failure
problem got solved with Nux Vomica. Nux vomica is not in the
rubric importance feels, his pompous. In this case, which was
chilly and thirsty she was not only projecting her importance but
was looking down upon ordinary men and women. People who
try to advertise and volunteer information about their religious
attitudes are not really religious at heart. Those who really are,
never even try to make a mention of it.
Case: A man who came for help for his allergic rhinitis and easy
spraining of ankles and backache made it clear that he had
sneezing attacks when he was exposed to flowers at near
139
quarters. He got backaches when he had to sit for 40 hours at a
stretch. After a two and a half hours history he never mentioned
why he could not avoid flowers, which aggravated him, or what
was that which brought him close to flowers. When the
accompanying person was questioned for details he disclosed
that the patient was a very well known spiritual and philosophical
adviser who had improved lives of thousands of people in the city
of Mumbai and in the rural areas. The history, which gradually
unveiled, was that he was once upon a time an alcoholic who
used to beat his wife and children and steal money for his
alcohol. As destiny would have it, he changed from a bad man to
a good man. He not only realized his mistake but also went on
sharing his bad and good experiences with others and persuaded
many drunkards to leave alcohol and accept the path of religious-
ness. He started a temple-like meeting place where in front of
God they would give up drinking as he went on giving discourses.
He became famous as messenger of God. On a particular day in
a month thousands of people gathered to give him offerings of
flowers which he had to accept as a token of love. This was the
reason why he could not stay away from flowers and wanted to
get rid of the allergy. The respect for such a man automatically
turns into veneration. So much work he had done for the down
trodden and not a word of it in the history. The religiousness, the
ardency, the sympathetic helping nature had to be dug out. The
secretive attitude had literally covered up his history. He had
created a revolution and changed the fate of millions. With his
chilly, thirstlessness and ardent, religious, sympathetic, secretive
and religious natural traits he improved and got cured with a
similimum.
140
What was required in this man was a remedy which had its
defense Sycosis that is Sycotic remedy. The Sycosis had to be
inhibitory, a Sycosis (less). All attitudes were hidden though
good in character. There was no exhibitionism. The remedy was
one which had to have Sycosis less, had to be good at heart,
chilly thirstless and could bring about a revolution. Fittingly the
chronic complaint of easy sprains and strains is also Sycosis
less. Less amount of 'elastin' produced in ligaments and muscles
causing easy sprains and strains. And the remedy which covered
mental make up, physical make up, general make up (along with
the thermals and thirst) and the miasm (defense) was Causticum
(the revolutionary).
141
retardation' of a Baryta, as an example. The Sycosis less stunts
the growth of Barytas, both physically and mentally. Any stimulus
which enters the body through the receptors of our nervous
system has to proceed up to the cortex, assessed properly and a
response from the brain in the form of proper or just action. In
Barytas, we can say, the stimulus does not go as high as the
cortex and as if takes a 'short cut'. A pre-determined reaction to
any situation is the result. The reaction decision is not as per the
situation. This is something called fixed ideas. In such persons
adaptability is conspicuously lacking.
142
into someone's eyes. The lack of courage expresses as
cowardiceness. The 'Sycosis less' people 'compromise easily'.
They 'recognize' but do not move. In grief when they lose near or
dear one they suppress their emotions and 'never cry' or express
their grief.
143
cares for me, but he never gives me what I want. He never hugs
me or never caresses me. I long for his touch. I don't know but
he can never do that. It's perhaps his 'ego' which comes in his
way. You can never say what is in his mind. It fits with perfect
hidden Sycosis constitution.

144
SYPHILITIC MENTALS
When the first defense is not sufficient the cell may undergo
changes at the genetic level to defend itself morphologically by
construction, accumulation or fortification which we equated to
Sycotic defense or Sycosis.

146
unwanted part. The 'falling off of a gangrenous toe in diabetes is
an ideal example of how a body defends by destruction.
147
When a part is destroyed, the balance is lost and control is lost.
This 'out of control' organism goes in for further destruction and
distortion. The Syphilitic miasm expresses itself as out of control
=> distortion => and hence ugly looks.
148
leads us to decide whether a person is positive, courageous
person or weak and timid person. The reaction of a person in a
situation helps us to decide upon whether he is courageous or a
coward. But what if a person's reaction to situation is not
constant. This is exactly the case in Syphilitics. The reaction to
situation can be too much or out of proportion to the stimulus or
too less. The behaviour is unpredictably too much or too little or
no reaction at all. There is no balance or control over the
system giving rise to haphazard, awkward, uncontrolled and
unpredictable activities. This leads to ugliness, wierdness both
in mind and body.
149
Cases
150
This is a good short cut". This is indiscretion, foolishness but
above all improper use of intellect.
In all the above cases we find that 'the sense of right and wrong
is abolished'. The 'intellect' does not know what is right for him or
safe for him or what is wrong or harmful. Such patients, if they
are chilly are Syphilitic Anacardium.
151
Emotions: Uncontrolled emotions are Syphilitic traits. Emotions
are essentially defense mechanism for an individual. People, who
are weak, have timid trait so that they don't involve themselves in
fights or harmful situations. Anxiety is the emotion highly devel-
oped in them to protect them (generally Psora). Coward and
intelligent but interactive mind of Sycotic individual develops 'fear'
and escapist attitude as their defensive trait. In Syphilis, the very
defensive function (3rd function) is defective, Add to it 'out of con-
trol' means the defense of 'emotions' are' out of control'.
Crime: Most of the criminals who kill, murder, and massacre with
or without remorse are made up of Syphilitic constitution.
152
CHAPTER 19
There are lot of arguments about this miasm being good and that
miasm being bad. Is Psora better than Sycosis or Sycosis better
than Syphilis? All these three miasms have their good and the
bad side. All the three are essential for survival of the being and
the species. Without any one of them the human being will not
function and will not survive. Without either of them humans will
not suffer or die!
The Almighty has made this world keeping in mind the balance or
153
equilibrium of opposite forces which makes this world go on. We
already discussed about the world being made of opposites. If
there is black there is white; if there is a male, there has to be a
female; if there is bad there has to be good. If 'Syphilis' has bad
qualities, it has good qualities too. The goodness of Syphilis lies
in the advantage of destructive tendency in body. The
'destruction' in the destructive response of a cell is basically
meant to save the whole by sacrificing a part. The destruction
is supposed to be, to remove the diseased portion, cell or tissue.
It is a form of cell death designed to eliminate unwanted host
cells through 'activation' of internally programmed series of
events. It occurs normally in following general settings (i) during
development (ii) as a homoeostatic mechanism to maintain
optimum cell population in tissues. The cells in the body go on
multiplying incessantly. Growth is stimulus after every cut. If
cells were to multiply without control, there would be many tags,
warts and tumours all over. Extra cells need to be destroyed, (iii)
as defense mechanism such as in immune reactions (iv) when
cells are damaged by disease or noxious agents and (v) in
ageing.
154
The Goodness of Sycosis: What is the advantage of growth
tendency in the body? Why has the body been given a tendency
to grow? The body both mentally and physically is bound to be
wounded many times. The tissues if they were to be destroyed
and not re-grow, at the end of life, a human being would have
been in tatters. Thus the growth tendency in the genes helps to
repair what is cut.
155
Chapter 20
BIRTH MIASM
156
change the miasm or defense from Psora (timid and anxious) to
Sycosis (positive and manipulate) which can be in the same
remedy, e.g. Lachesis in Psoric phase of defense when suffering
from inflammatory diseases of respiratory tract etc. will timid,
anxious, suspicious but once it changes defense (miasm) to
constructive pathologies, it switches its genetic traits to ma-
nipulative, sly, positive, creative, more or less bolder than before
to get its work done by hook or crook. With the obvious
activation of 'Sycosis' genes at mental level, the physique also
starts reflecting the change to obesity, rounded features etc. If
the other dormant trait is 'Syphilitic 'the person might change
from 'Psora' to 'Syphilis' type of personality e.g. Lachesis with
extreme suspiciousness, extreme jealousy, hatred, malice,
oversensitive to touch with suffocative tendency, bleeding,
destructive bluish pathologies at physical level.
157
and why the same remedy can be timid as well as courageous,
mild as well as angry, dull and intelligent, active and inactive.
These qualities are not just polarities but defense or miasmatic
representation.
158
response. The birth constitution may be 'Syphilis' but he 'has' to
suffer from inflammatory response, when first attacked by a
bacteria or virus etc. But the reaction to situation will differ in
Sycosis and Syphilis.
159
A 'Phosphorus' or a 'Sulphur' can be of any miasm. There can be
a Psoric Phosphorus, Sycotic or even Posphorus-Syphiiitic.
Similarly there can be a Sulphur-Psoric, Sulphur- Sycotic and
Sulphur-Syphilitic. It all depends on what were the inherited traits
that predominate in the individual. If the inherited traits of Sulphur
have been predominantly Psoric, then this man will remain in
Psora even up to a ripe old age. He will go on suffering from skin
rash, boils, and eczema throughout his life. These are generally
lucky people. They will suffer from minor Psoric troubles like
hypertension, diabetes, thyroid problems etc. If, at an elderly age
patients come to the physician with eczema, rash or coryza or
mild backaches recurrently, it is always advisable to make them
aware that they are lucky to have such 'minor problems' and any
attempt, if not proper with a proper similimum may be too
dangerous. There was this case of a man in his fifties who came
with the complaint of longstanding burning in stomach diagnosed
as hyperacidity with skin rash on the dorsum of hands since long
time. He was, after a long comprehensive history, prescribed
Lycopodium. The hyperacidity miraculously disappeared within 8-
10 days making the patient very much appreciative about
homoeopathy. The skin too started drying off and the red dis-
colouration disappeared and was replaced by black
pigmentation. This actually is a dangerous sign. The Psoric
manifestation was changing over to precipitation of excess
pigments of Sycosis. This warning of the body was not heeded.
The patient became a fan of homoeopathy. Within one month,
he was free of two distressing symptoms, which the
contemporary specialist had not cured for fifteen long years or
more. In the fifth week, the patient suffered from severe gastric
upset and vomiting. His appetite had already slowly reduced.
He was admitted for investigations and was found to be suffering
160
from jaundice, but the case was biliary duct carcinoma, which
turned out to be fatal. He was cured in one month and died in two
months. Moral of the story is that: (a) let Psora be expressed in
least important organs like skin and respiratory tract (Psoric
functional organs) at an elderly age and don't treat it. (b)
understand the language of disease expression and change of
defense mechanism from Psora to Sycosis or Psora to Syphilis
(c) last but not the least, never be happy with fast or rapid cures
in longstanding diseases. They are more often than not gross
suppressions.
Mixed Miasm:
161
CHAPTER 21
ADDITIONAL - MIASMS
There is a lot of hue and cry about 'tubercular miasm' and 'cancer
miasm' etc. There can be two possibilities:
(2) Hahnemann was wrong and there are more miasms which
Hahnemann did not think of. In the first place, could
Hahnemann's fantastic foresightedness ever have missed to
recognise common diseases like malaria, tuberculosis, leprosy,
typhoid etc. having original tendencies to cause diseases and
stamping them as miasms?
162
rather than creating confusion in the already complex
science which has been misunderstood.
163
C) The theory of three types is reflected at the physical sphere,
mental sphere and disease pathology sphere. Thus this
theory of origin of disease confirms to the holistic approach
of homoeopathic science.
164
expresses in three different stages:
165
Chapter 22

All these behaviour patterns, as deduced earlier, are defense
mechanism at work. These can be basic natural traits inherited
from birth or developed and acquired during the life time.

pointing upwards on the seat of a school teacher, knowing very
well that the teacher always sat in the chair with force. When the
teacher did so, it hurt him so badly so as to give him pain and
bleeding. This is Syphilitic mischief.
168
The shrewed planning, cunning mind of a Lachesis (Sycotic) or
Mercurius (Sycotic) or the Causticum (Sycotic) will find ways and
means to get over these obstacles.
These are examples of how every rubric itself will have different
shades. Thus everything an individual does, thinks or expresses,
can be seen in three different miasmatic expressions.

physical. If a 'miasm' say Syphilis is seen to influence an individ-
ual on the physical plane, then it goes without saying that the
same miasm 'Syphilis' has to be seen in the qualities of that
individual at the mental sphere. Thus a man coming to us with a
'Syphilitic disease' or a disease which is destroying an organ or
two of the individual, then this individual will exhibit some strong
'Syphilitic trait' at the mental level. We know that the most
important thing in man is his 'mind'. The mind rules the body,
controls the body and influences the body. As is the state of the
mind-so will be the state of the body and vice versa. As is the
‘mind' of a remedy so will be the physique of the remedy. This is
mathematics. This also forms the base of our 'prediction'.
173
From the above explanation, we conclude that patients with
tendency to Psoric or functional diseases e.g. Psoric dermatitis,
Psoric rhinitis, Psoric bronchitis or asthma, Psoric oesophagitis,
gastritis (without ulcerations), colitis (without ulceration) or cystitis
will have different nature, attitude, behaviour, etc. vis a vis those
having a tendency to suffer from 'Sycosis' related diseases like
hypertension, warts, tumours, fibroids, cancers.

will be present). One should not search for a typical ragged
philosopher with skin disease.

order and just dumping). This strange, queer attitude, behaviour
or say hobby is worth taking note of whilst prescribing for this
individual. But this 'strange' behaviour which is not normal
belongs to the 'abnormal' or 'distorted' miasm 'Syphilis'.
176
claimed that she was a good poet whose poems were very much
appreciated. She said she specialized on two themes. Her
poems were either for small children or for ladies and girls.
177
But here her poem frightened them to death. It prompted some
weird thoughts. Distortion or perversion was the theme. Now we
know why her 'unique' poems had never gained popularity. Why
she was never appreciated. Why she was never made the chief
editor and why her husband too had no attraction towards her.
Some homoeopaths would have begun the analysis of the case
with the rubric - delusion of fancy (Sulph - 3 marks).

chauvinism. She now fights the world which has harmed her.
She'll obviously fight with the weapon she has been provided by
her 'genes'. Obviously the extra-sharp, not so normal features
given to her by her genes is an indication that she has 'Syphilis'
as the weapon to defend herself. She thus defends herself in a
typically 'Syphilitic' way. Her mind imagines 'destruction' as
defense. Thus she gets these weird thoughts and imaginations
translated into poems. We take the rubric "strange crank opinion
and acts in". We have Sulphur, Verat. Her thirst and other
symptoms of heat of palms and soles etc. made me opt for
'Sulphur' which cured her dysplastic cellular proliferation in uterus
and cervix completely.

MIASM IN DREAMS
189
be the result of the state of mind too.
Illustrative Case:
To assess the block in a few days was very difficult. How does
one realize that the remedy is right and we are on the right track?
The block is completely 'Sycotic' and hidden. In this case the
patient had a dream of jugglery on the first day of starting the
190
treatment. This was perhaps his biochemistry, which was
disturbed due to excess allopathic drugs, was trying to return
back to equilibrium. He was quite depressed and confused as to
whether he had taken a right decision or not. He wanted to be
assured that the medicine was working inside him and that he
was not wasting time. On the third day he became mentally
relaxed. He started smiling and taking interest in watching
television. On the fourth day he started moving his right hand that
was paralyzed and first thing he did was to sign on his cheque
book to withdraw all his money from the account which had
become frozen without his signature. On the fifth day he reported
of having a dream in which he saw that he was visiting a site
where a house was being constructed and this house belonged
to a prominent mafia boss who was accompanying him there. He
was surprised because he was never ever associated with this
man and why should he come in his dream. Above all he had
nothing to do with any construction or designing. For me this
dream had some different meaning. He was in total despair
because of his condition of paralysis of right hand when the
single dose of the similimum was given. This was a Syphilitic
stage of the disease which was characterized by paralysis and
despair and overwhelmed with emotions. Now he was seeing
dreams which showed construction, a mafia boss and designing
and creativity, all of which characterize the Sycotic miasm. This
indicated that the disease of arteriosclerosis comprising of
accumulation and construction (Sycosis) which had earlier
progressed to Syphilitic stage of destruction was now on the
point of returning back to the Sycosis state. For me this was an
indication sufficient enough to assure him that the disease was
under control and that my similimum has started working. This
indicated to me, the sixth corollary of return of disease from more
191
destructive miasm to less destructive miasm was being seen and
cure was in progress. On this very indication I could dissuade
him from going in for any operation. After the 8 th day he got a
dream in which he saw himself and his son driving a huge truck
through a very narrow lane. He got down from the truck and the
son went to park the truck in a parking area and did not return.
This gave him a lot of anxiety in the dream. Here the huge truck
was like the Sycotic block in a narrow artery indicating
Sycosis predominance. The latter part of the dream showed
anxiety which was Psoric. This meant that he was now returning
to Syco-Psoric sphere. A few weeks later he got a dream where
he saw his clinic burgled. He saw the lock in a broken state on
the outside of the closed door and there was tremendous
apprehension and anxiety about what he must have lost. This
was a clear dream of Psoric anxiety. After this his hypertension,
blood sugar, lipid levels and serum uric acid levels all of which
were never normal before even with the help of allopathic
medicines, became normal without any maintaining drugs and
still remain normal today after 5 years.
192
activities concerned, rather than the activity of keeping things in
place. He was not fond of wearing aristocratic dresses at all. He
could not bear any contradiction of his orders which would send
him into anger. Now-a-days his anger and vexation had started
causing him breathlessness. He was chilly and thirsty.
Psoric dreams:
Dreams of daily activities
For example:
193
Cooking, fishing, flowers, home, household affairs, music, etc.
Dreams of efforts being done, whether or not success is
achieved
For example:
Ascending a height, aspiring, climbing a step, failures, looking for
someone and failing to find him, train-trying to catch etc.

Any Dreams of Anxiety Pleasant Dreams
For example:

pleasant, rainbow, spanning the sky, swinging., wonderful etc.
Sycotic dreams:
Dreams of collection, gatherings, construction
For example:
Assemblies, being large, balls being at, buildings, child birth, of
computers, of fruits gathering, gardens, body parts swollen etc.
Dreams related to business and money
For example:
Business of, busy being, calculating, companies, interviews,
large of growing, money, etc.
194
Danger, death of, embarrassment, emotion suppressed, jealous,
job related, deceitful, political etc.
Dreams related to concealing
For example: Hiding, masks etc.
Syphilitic dreams: Dreams of accidents
For example:
Crash of Plane, explosion, fatal etc.
Destruction dreams
For example:
Bitten, bloodshed, body parts burning, bruising himself, cruelty,
churchyard, funerals, offensive pus, spitting, violence, ghosts etc.
Perverted dreams
For example:
Woman married to many
Dreams of wild animals
For example:
Birds, large black, bugs, enormous, dragons, snakes, vampires,
wasps, wild etc.
Clairvoyant dreams etc.

CHAPTER 26
AGEING
The 'first major phase' is from birth to say about 20 years. The
'second phase' is from 20 years to 50 years. The 'third phase' is
from 50 years onwards until death. The number of years in each
'phase' is strictly variable. These major 'phases' are 'periods'
when there is predominance of certain diseases.
196
survive, or to satisfy the basic needs of life. In this stage the
defense that a cell or a body uses is essentially and purely
physiological. In this stage of a man's career the face and the
features show normal, sensitive, Psoric features. We observe
that unless and until there is a strong inherited Sycosis trait the
younger generations do not accumulate much fat. They are lean,
thin, active and sensitive, all of which indicate a predominant
Psoric phase of life.
197
Sycotic defense makes the man gain fat with rounding of
contours to change the features and the face. The typical
rounded Sycosis face with putting on of weight on the abdomen,
which is known as sign of prosperity, is consistent with this phase
of life. A photograph of a face of a man or a woman in their
thirties do not show any resemblance to photograph of childhood.
The journey from Psora to Sycosis changes the facial features
considerably. This is a stage predominated by Sycosis.
Similarly the Sycotic defense can occur very early in the life. A
child with inflammatory diseases like tonsillitis or appendicitis if
198
not treated properly or if operated might go to Sycosis too early in
life. A young boy or a girl, suddenly putting on weight at the age
of 8, 9 or 10 years and suddenly becoming free of the relapsing
fever, relapsing bronchitis, tonsillitis or recurrent gastric or urinary
tract infections whether after treatment with homeopathy or
allopathy is not a welcome sign. This child has been pushed from
Psoric or physiological defense to constructive that is Sycotic
defense. This child might suffer now from concealed diseases
like hypothyroidism, hypertension, or even diabetes at a very
early age. The second stage of life has been hastened by the
doctor himself. This amounts to shortening of the life span of the
child. This child would go into the third stage of life that is
Syphilitic defense and start suffering from destructive or terminal
diseases very early in life and die a premature death.
199
Chapter 27
For example:
200
increased. At the same time leucocytes also increased.
This was bad sign from allopaths side because the
disease was increasing. It was good from my point of
view. This was an indication for me that the destructive or
Syphilitic defense, which the constitution had adopted
was reverted back to constructive or Sycosis defense.
Later there was WBC count reduction and haemoglobin
increased. Also, there was a reduction in the
lymphocytes count and increase n neutrophils count.
Neutrophil count, which had never risen in the last 3 years
now increased after the right remedy was
given.(Neutrophils are a sign of acute inflammation and
lymphocytes are a sign of chronic inflammation.)
201
is the right direction of cure as Sycosis - Psora.
202
Chapter 28
This means that the first type or Psoric constitutions are expert in
using "physiological defense." The Sycotics are expert in using
"constructive defense". And Syphilitics are expert in using
"destructive defense".

Mother's History:

Analysis Journey of disease
215
Interestingly this insufficiency of production starts in calf muscles
and gradually proceeds up, opposite of Hering's law direction. It
begins between the age of 4 to 7 years. Universally there is no
treatment for it once it has set in. Three stages are seen. First the
muscles get inflamed (Psora) due to any infection that may injure
the muscle in absence of dystrophin. Here it was because of
respiratory tract infection being transferred from endoderm to
mesoderm (muscles-connective tissue level). Secondly there is a
false increase in cell mass (Sycosis). Thirdly the muscle cells get
gradually destroyed (Syphilis). If at all a child of DMD has any
hope it is in homoeopathy and that too if anything can be done at
a stage one of inflammation or Psora. First of all if these are
genetically pre-diagnosed DMDs when it runs through the family,
homoeopathy can prevent the disease (immune-impairment)
from reaching the third or mesoderm-connective tissue layer,
(see chart of suppression in the book-Theory of suppression).
The deactivation of gene of dystrophin can only occur if the
immune impairment reaches the muscles that is if a child is
suppressed with allopathy or homoeopathy. If right genetic
constitutional similimum (GCS) is prescribed, that means a
remedy which will take into consideration the genetic traits of the
individual, is prescribed, there is a remote possibility of saving
this child. The GCS includes the mental make-up; physical make-
up; the general make-up; disease makeup; all of which are his
defense make-up or miasmatic make-up.
• Will
• Intellect
• Morals
216
• Diligence
• Defense
• Sensitivity
• Expressiveness
Disease makeup
In the above child first the disease stage was taken into
consideration. This was the beginning of DMD which is
predominately Syco-Syphilitic as the name pseudo hypertrophic
muscular dystrophy suggests. By our understanding of the
miasms, now we understand that this constitution is defending
itself or genetically been programmed to defend itself by bringing
about at first inflammation (Psora), construction (hypertrophy)
(Sycosis) and destruction (Syphilis) at the pathological level.
Mind and body talk the same language, because both are
governed by the same genetic code. This means the mind must
also have develop ed some characteristics which will defend
itself Psoro- Syco-Syphiliticaly. But at this stage the disease was
not fully established and yet defending Psorically as there was
217
only pains and cramps. Thus I have to consider the mentals of
this child which have the Psoric taint and Sycotic hue
predominantly. These mental rubrics can be used as eliminatory
rubrics because the similimum will have to cover them, Then and
only then it becomes a genetic constitutional similimum. This of
course will and should include the thermals, the thirst, desires
and aversions etc.
Mental make-up:
Will: Timidity - Psora.
Intellect: Creative and artistic - Sycosis
Morals: Conscientious - Psora
Sympathetic - Psora
Defense: Fastidious - Sycosis
Sensitivity: Sensitive to rudeness - Psora
General make-up:

Rheumatic arthritis:
Psoric when there is joint inflammation only.
Sycotic when there is swelling, proliferation of synovial
membrane and osteophyte formation.
220
Syphilitic destruction of cartilage and bone start due to
continuous friction and age.
Rheumatoid arthritis:
Syphilitic As it is an auto-immune disease, self destruction
takes place.
Osteoarthritis:
Sycotic When chondrocytes proliferate.
Syphilitic When progressive erosion of articular cartilage
takes place.
Gout:
Sycotic As there is deposition of monosodium biurate
monohydrate crystals.
Ankylosing spondylitis:
Syphilitic Due to the presence of auto anti bodies.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus:
Syphilitic As it is an auto-immune disease, self destruction
and distortion takes place.
Anaemia:
Psoric When it is diet related that is nutritional anaemia.
Sycotic (Less) when haemoglobin goes down due to any
causes like hypoplasia, which causes bone
marrow depression.
Syphilitic When destruction is associated like in Addisonian
crisis, Pernicious anaemia.
221
Thrombocytopenia
Leukopenia Syphilitic as there is destruction
Neutropenia
Thalassaemia:
Syphilitic as there is inherited impairment of haemoglobin
production.
Thromobocytopenia:
Syphilitic As there is reduced platelet count due to failure of
megakaryocyte maturation.
Leukaemia:
Sycotic As there is increased number of primitive white
cells in bone marrow.
Syphilitic When destruction takes place
Haemophilia:
Syphilitic As it is congenital bleeding disorder due to
reduction of factor VIII.
Polycythemia:
Psoric When it is physiological that is in persons living at
high altitudes.
Sycotic When red cell count increases due to timorous
condition of the organs.
Leucocytosis:
Psoric When it is physiological.
Sycotic In all other conditions as the WBC count
222
increases.
Neutrophilia:
Psoric Neutrophils increase during acute inflammation.
Lymphocytosis:
Sycotic As Lymphocytes increase during chronic
inflammation.
Down’s Syndrome: 21X Trisomy
Sycotic, Syphilitic …………….. Destruction
Neurological Disorders:
Acute confusional states due to drugs are psoric.
Endocrinal disturbances are Sycotic and Syphilitic
Nutritional disorders are psoric; due to organ system
failure are Syphilitic like hepatic failure, uraemia; due to
infection like bacterial meningitis are psoro-Syphilitic; due
to tubercular meningitis is psoro-syco-Syphilitic; due to
vascular disorders like hypertensive encephalopathy are
Sycosis; due to subarachnoid haemorrage is Syco-
Syphilitic
Epilepsy due to febrile convulsions is Psoric; epilepsy
after trauma is psoro-Syphilitic; after stroke is Syphilitic;
with tumour is Sycotic; due to meningitis is psoric and
status epilepticus is Syco-Syphilitic.
Dementia and Amnesic Syndromes due to idiopathic
degeneration are Syphilitic; due to vascular disorder are
Syphilitic; due to neoplastic disorders, benign tumours are
Sycosis; malignant tumours are Syco-Syphilitic. Due to
infections are psoric; due to metabolic disorders are
223
Sycosis and Syphilis.
Disorders of vision – Mononuclear disorders like cataract
are Syphilitic; glaucoma are Sycotic; Vitreous
haemorrhage are Syphilitic; retinal
detachment is Syphilitic. Disorders or ocular motility like
weakness of movement is Sycosis and loss of movement
is Syphilitic.
Thus all diseases due to inflammation, infection or
nutritional disorders are Psoric.
All diseases due to space occupying lesions or
atherosclerosis or under expression of neurotransmitters
are Sycotic.
All diseases due to destructive disorders are Syphilitic.
Miasms and psychiatric disorders:
Psoric ailments: are disorders, which are due to
deficiency and have purely physiologic tones. Neurotic
disorders – such as anxiety neurosis, restlessness,
simple depression, melancholia, hypochondriasis, that
have no pathological or structural changes involved are
psoric ailments.
Sycotic ailments: are those which are produced due to
space occupying lesions or due to metabolic disorders
like uraemia, bilirubin imbalance, hepatic encephalopathy,
hypochondriasis, phobias, imbecility.
Here the salient features are some kind of statis,
slowness, pseudoism, coverup ….
Syphilitic ailments: these are disorders due to some kind
of distortions and perversions like manias, obsessive
compulsive disorders, schizophrenia, psychosis, hysteria,
paranoias, mental retardation – down’s syndrome ….
Idiocy, perverted sexuality etc.
224
There is total loss of control over thoughts and emotions
in these ailments making them belong to Syphilis miasm.
The key phrase is ‘out of control’.

constitutions tend to suffer from right sided affections showing
immune impairment more on the right side.
b) The meek and the sensitive and the creative tend to suffer
from left sided affections.
It has been seen in our repertories and materias that right sided
remedies have more metals and positive remedies. The sensitive
and the hysterical remedies are given more on the left sided
affection.
Most metals:
Most left sided remedies are sensitive and hysterical e.g. Arg-Nit,
Asaf, Asar, Caps, Cina, Clem, Crocus, Graph, Kreos, Lach, Mez,
Phos, Sepia, Sulph
Oversensitive metals like Cuprum Met, Stann, Plat, Zinc, Ferr are
left sided.
228
The mental characteristics of Psora which stand for sensitivity,
matches the right brain dominant; Hysterical, sensitivity,
imaginations, illusion, delusions, fantasies and out of control
symptoms which are more of Syphilitic could be right brain
dominant and hence left sided.

229
Chapter 31
GENETICS OF SYCOSIS
The cell cycle. (See fig. BW-3-page 274) Cell cycle comprises of
two phases:
230
that is mitosis phase.
Every cell which divides by mitosis into two of its own kind has to
undergo this cell cycle which is controlled by certain proteins
cyclin dependent kinases ( cdk1, cdk2,cdk3 etc.) In this resting
phase we have 2 checkpoints, Gl & G2
231
suppressed by drugs or other factors and the Gl checkpoint
could be overcome. Thus leading to Sycosis. This is a probable
explanation for children going from Psoric recurrent
inflammatory disease to Sycotic disease after operation of
tonsillitis and appendicitis. Many patients start becoming fat after
delivery, or after major operation or after acute inflammatory
diseases like typhoid, pneumonia, hepatitis. This is when the
Sycosis gene is activated in the person. We homoeopaths also
suppress.
In cancers too it is the G 1 checkpoint which has been seen to
be defective. But one gene giving rise to multiplication tendency
that is overcoming of G 1 checkpoint is the same as what is
probably called proto-oncogene.
232
Chapter 32
GENETICS OF CANCER
233
alteration may cause phenotypic changes typified by the
progression in epithelial tissues from hyperplasia to adenoma to
dysplasia to carcinoma in situ to invasive carcinoma.
234
Chapter 33
SOME PRACTICAL HINTS
Syphilitic.
235
(3) A patient may start putting on excess weight and become
obese after
(i) Tonsil operation, appendix operation, hysterectomy
(ii) After treatment of acute infectious diseases
e.g. typhoid, malaria, hepatitis, pneumonia.
All this indicates suppression from Psora to Sycosis.
(i) ringworm
236
(7) Sudden suppression of any discharges leading to
excruciating pain anywhere in the body is 'metastasis' of
'toxins'. These pains can be easily cured with Abrotanum
200 one or at the most two doses if not much time has
lapsed.
237
Then at the age of 40 years, these headaches which were
paroxysmal, become more permanent. Gradually
headaches are accompanied by visual disturbances or
memory lapses or blackouts. Now the patient is
investigated and scanned and is found to be suffering from
tumour. It could be astrocytoma, meningioma, glioma etc.
What is interesting is that if the headaches were present
for many years, then was this 'tumour' also present for so
many years? Except for slow growing tumours this is not
possible. This means the growth or tumour is a recent
development and it can be traced back to the point when
the headaches which were paroxysmal became
continuous. This was the transition from Psora to Sycosis.
Before this point, the headaches were due to
inflammations or congestion of tissues. After this, the
inflammations got converted into chronic state and
induration and growth started.
238
seen to be developing boyish or mannish habits. This is
because the M.S.H. (melanocyte stimulating hormone) is
synthesized inside the pituitary from the neurons, which
are quite in close proximity to the ones, which synthesize
the prolactin and leutinizing hormone. These female
hormones control the ovarian hormones and thus control
the feminism. Menses becoming irregular during the
course of vitiligo treatment amounts to suppression or
wrong direction of cure.
239
reserved, introverted, much responsible, religious,
conscientious, and diligent to the extent of working in the
kitchen even with severe headaches and giddiness, before
she was hospitalized. She used to suffer from
sunheadaches off and on, since childhood, with increased
thirst and desire for bread. On the above basis, she was
prescribed Nat Carb 30 single dose. She became
conscious, was brought home and started walking, talking
and finally dancing too. She went on to get her re-
investigated (on her own insistence) and against my
advice. And to everybody's surprise the M.R.I, showed
complete regression of the tumour. They were happy but I
was apprehensive. My worst fears came true as she
developed giddiness 3 days after. The M.R.I done, within 3
weeks showed re-growth of tumour. She became
unconscious and died in about 6 week's time. Repetition of
Nat Carb, changing of potency, nor changing of remedy
helped her. The question is what happened and why this
happened
240
This aligning and re-aligning of internal elements of cells
and tissues amounts to injury. Even Hahnemann mentions
it in Aphorism 73. He mentions about meteoric or telluric
influences, which are essentially strong magnetic
influences, being injurious to cells and hence exciting
cause. He has mentioned them only in acute diseases
meaning those, which are bursts of latent Psora. For us
Psora amounts to inflammatory tendency and that is
physiological and we understand by now that strong
'Sycosis' constitution goes to the second defense that is
constructive defense immediately and quickly.
241
(11) Sycotic constitution people are liable to be more affected
by prolonged grief. It is something like an iron bar, which
undergoes stress for longer time and gradually changes in
shape. The Sycotic constitution people therefore, mostly
suffer from gradual progressed Sycotic diseases under
stress.
(13) Most of the time, it has been seen that patients suffering
from cancers, when get cured of cancers are left with
diabetes which is as good as compensatory cure as
disease comes down from third defense to second
defense.
242
common diseases is a sure shot signal that the patient is
getting cured.

CONCLUSION
Time-culture-disease chronology
The human race was then in purely nutritive phase. Man was
trying to survive, to make two ends meet. He was working and
learning so that he will help the human race to progress. There
were not many inventions not many discoveries. This was the
Psoric phase of man.
244
Most of them changed Psora to Sycosis. Inventions brought in
luxuries, machine inventions brought in ease, facilities. All of
which led to prosperity of human race. Nearly all the inventions
electricity, telephone, television, aeroplanes, rockets, satellites,
computers etc. occurred during this period. Things were
discovered to make life easy and enjoyable and allow man to
dream to achieve the impossible. Showmanship increased,
culture and morals went underground. Man prospered but
became greedy for more. More money, more achievement, more
knowledge, more enjoyment, more deceptions, more looseness
of characters causing adultery, debauchery etc.
245
miasm makes the injured cell respond differently to produce
variety of defects, which are more dangerous.
246
increased in every nook and corner of the world. Hijacking,
bombarding, mass killing, have become the order of the day.
Even the youngsters love movies having war, slaughter, hideous
faces, wierdity, horror etc. Movies depict distorted versions or
perverted versions of classics.
