Marian Concert
Marian Concert
Prologue:
On April 29, 1965, Pope Paul VI in his encyclical wrote: “Mary is rightly to be
regarded as the way by which we are led to Christ, the person who encounters
Mary cannot help but encounter Christ likewise. For what other reason do we
continually turn to Mary except to seek the Christ in her arms, to seek our Savior
in her, through her, and with her. To Him men are to turn amid the anxieties and
perils of this world, urged on by duty and driven by the compelling needs of their
heart, to find a haven of salvation, a transcendent fountain of life.”
Last March 2020, our lives have been greatly affected by the outbreak of COVID
19 pandemic. We have been struggling to find ways to tolerate social isolation
and stay at home orders. And above all, our anxieties are peaked by the fear of
contracting the virus. Yet, we, the faithful, believed that this pandemic will come
to an end. Daily we turn to the Blessed Virgin Mary and sought her motherly
protection the way she loving and carefully protected her Son Jesus.
May this Virtual Concert in Honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary bring us hope and
solace as we find healing in the current situation of our world. Let us move
forward with Mary: Avanti con Mary…

MUSIC OFFERING 1: MAGDIWANG
In this episode, we reminisce our Christmas celebration as we recall Mary’s
unfathomable joy of Jesus’ birth despite the challenges and pain she went
through.
Sound….
We have celebrated Christmas in simplicity and in its true essence. This season
allowed us to realize that true joy is not about abundance of food or decorations
or lavish gifts, or boisterous laughter with friends, instead, JOY “is a gift of the
Spirit" and also vibrates "in the moment of trouble, in the moment of trial".
Christian joy is peace, peace that is deeply rooted, peace in the heart, the peace
that only God can give.
Mary, the Mother of God stands out as a woman of deep joy even in her pains.
She was the first to recognize God in her infant son through her faith in the words
of the Angel Gabriel, “The Lord is with you.”

MUSIC OFFERING 2: LUMABAN
Here, we recall the sacrifices of the frontlines particularly those in the medical
fields who fearlessly and selflessly faced the virus even with less protection gears
and how these heroes hold on to their faith and sought Mary’s intercession and
protection.
Gong ….
Due to the prevailing spread of COVID-19 in the country, nearly all the nurses,
doctors and other health personnel fought the disease to save lives. Armed with
medical skills and faith, they risk exposure to themselves and their loved ones for
the safety of the wider community.
We fight for the normal life leading us to brighter 2021. This fight made us even
more dependent on prayer especially in our devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary
to protect us. Undeniably, Our Lady, Health of the Sick, embraced and comforted
us in our moments of fear and distress.
Let us then be a source of strength and comfort for those who are feeling the
spiritual, emotional and physical strains of caring for the victims and bearing the
heartbreak of death and suffering of many. Let us continue to pray for all
healthcare workers that through Mary’s intercession, God will bless their heroic
efforts with His peace and love.
