IE594 Industrial AI and Applications for Machine Health Diagnosis and Prognosis
Spring 2024
Course Objectives:
This course is intended for graduate students across multiple disciplines such as engineering, business,
public health, and medicine. The goal of this course is threefold:
(1) To provide both a theoretical and practical understanding of the key industrial AI techniques of
classification, prediction, and data exploration that are crucial to solving problems in our engineering
and enterprise systems;
(2) To provide students an application context for these techniques;
(3) Using real-world machine health monitoring, diagnosis, and prognosis problems to illustrate the
application and implementation of these techniques.
Course Topics:
1. Introduction
2. Overview of Industrial AI
3. Evaluating Classification and Predictive Performance
4. Supervised Learning
5. Unsupervised Learning
6. Deep Learning
7. Transfer Learning
8. Generative AI and large language model (LLM)
