1. Do you prefer talking on the phone or chatting online?

Generally, I prefer chatting online to talking on the phone because we can send smileys, photos
and even videos. It’s so exciting. What I particularly like doing is using skype, tango, bee talk,
some things like this to show our emotions when chatting online to someone. Needless to say, it
is much cheaper than talking on the phone. Also, I nearly always find that chatting online can be
more sociable as you can speak to more than one person at the same time.
2. Do you prefer to travel by bike or by bus?
I prefer cycling to travelling by bus. Cycling is much more fun than taking the bus if we’re not
travelling too far. Actually, it’s so convenient to stop at any place we like to enjoy natural
environment, sightseeing, taking more photos. Cycling is also better for our health than all other
means of transport, including buses; in addition, travelling by bike is the most environmentally
friendly in comparison to the other means of transport. Interestingly, it’s often faster to go by
bike because we don’t get stuck in traffic jams. Also, it is much cheaper.
3. Tell me about your usual daily routine.
Well, normally I get up fairly early and have a run in the local park before doing anything else.
After taking a quick shower, I throw some really comfortable clothes on. Then, I find something
to eat, usually instant noodles or steamed buns, something like this. After that, I always have a
cup of coffee with my friends and we gossip a bit about life and school. After school, I always go
straight home and then start to prepare lessons for the following day. What I particularly enjoy
doing is playing tennis with my friends in the evening – it’s so exciting. I usually go to bed at
about 11 p.m.
4. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Well, I have lots of hobbies I like to do in my free time. However what I particularly enjoy
doing are reading books, listening music and playing tennis. To be honest, reading books is like
enjoying a cup of coffee, and I usually do that in my leisure time. Especially I like listening to
melodic, country, and blue music while I am reading books, which helps me gain more
concentration for the best effectiveness. I really like to get involved in team sports like tennis and
football. They are particularly good for building up co-operative skills and healthy competition,
playing tennis helps me relax, reenergize myself and strenghten our relationships. I do this a few
times a week.
5. What do you like to do in the evening?
I really like to get involved in team sports like tennis and football. They are particularly good for
building up co-operative skills and healthy competition, playing tennis helps me relax,
reenergize myself and strenghten our relationships. I do this a few times a week. Sometimes, my
family likes shopping or going to the parks or visiting my parents and relatives. It’s like this, you
see. Sometimes, I watch movies at a cinema with my friends and family. However, we almost
never go out dancing. I also like playing some games with the members of my family at home
such as chess, video games, quiz, etc.
6. What do you dislike about parties?
Well, I generally enjoy the parties I go to, but there are a few things I don’t like. I’m not keen on
meeting lots of new people at parties. If there are too many strangers at a party, I find myself
having the same conversation again and again: Something like where are you from? What’s your
major? What’s your job? And so on. I can’t stand repeating myself and this kind of conversation
is very superficial. We don’t really get know to the person at all. Moreover, in some places,
music is turned on too loud, so it is hard for us to gossip a bit about life and work
7. How often do you socialize with friends?
I used to go out with my friends twice a day or more. Some activities that I used to do with my
friends included having coffee in the moring, playing tennis in the evening, having breakfast or
dinner, and so on. In recent months, however, I have been really busy studying and working. I
don’t have the opportunity to take a break and spend time with my friends. Currently, about three
times a week I have coffee with my classmates to practice English. With others I might just meet
at the weekends. I hope I’ll have more time to socialize after I finish my study
8. How often do you read books?
For me, it is likely to read books everyday. Because I am working as a student, I need to
frequently work with books. Reading books is like enjoying a cup of coffee, and I usually do that
when I have free time or when I compile lessons. I’m a complete bookworm. I usually read
physics books which helps me broaden my professional knowledge and feel more confident. I
also read moral books that provide me with the ways to educate my students. Also, I like to read
short stories and fiction. When I am sitting doing nothing, I read magazines on various topics
fashion, health, films etc.
9. What do you like most about student life?
What I particularly like about student life is the golden opportunity to expand my horizons.
From my experience, persuing educational university promotes intellectual and emotional
growth. Actually, studying at university helps me train critical, creative, and independent
thinking as well as widen my knowledge. Moreover, we are allowed to be more creative in our
attitude and express ourselves more. Also, it is a good chance for university students to adapt to
independent life. Indeed, in a new place with numerous challenges, young people like me are
beginning to think for themselves and are old enough to be independent. I very much prefer
student life to working life.
10. What is the best thing about your hometown?
My hometown is Ca Mau city, which is located in a coastal area. The best thing about my
hometown is its location. It is located in the southern extremity of Vietnam. There are lots of
rivers and with three sides bordering the sea. Thus, there are a number of beautiful views of the
sea. Although we get many odd typhoons every year because we are by the seaside, we also
enjoy light sea breezes during the summer. But what I especially value about Ca Mau’s location
is the fresh sea food we can eat all year round.
11. Is football popular in your country?
Sure, there are several popular sports in Vietnam such as martial arts, badminton, tennis,
running, and even more. However, football is definitely the most common sport and is being
played by thousands of Vietnamese on a daily basis. Since the early 20th century, football has
been a popular sport in Vietnam. The Vietnam Football Federation is responsible for all of the
men’s, women’s, children’s football competitions. I found that the majority of high school and
university male students regularly play football.
12. Is music popular in Vietnam?
Definitely, I think it depends on what kind of music you are talking about. Most people in
Vietnam listen to music every day. As a rule, the young generation usually listens to pop, rock or
hip-hop music, whereas the older people tend to listen to older Vietnamese songs or folk music.
It can be said that music is an indispensable part of Vietnamese’s life. Music has been an
important means of displaying the ideas, experiences, and feeling of different societies and
cultures.
13. What’s the weather like where you live?
Ok. I live in subequatorial warm area. Camau, my hometown in the Mekong Delta, has a
pleasant tropical climate with two alternative seasons: the dry and the rainy seasons. In reality to
some extent, the dry season runs from November through April with average temperatures
around 28 degrees celsius and the rainy season from May through October. The rainy season,
however, never lasts too long while the sun is not too hot. In fact, temperatures soaring to 38
degrees celsius in the south during the dry season.
14. What do you do when the weather is bad?
Let’s see now, when the weather is too hot, during the summer months, it is a great time to go
swimming in the sea or swimming pool. If I have free time, I will travel to the countryside to
enjoy fresh air, which is associated with fishing. In contrast, the rainy season is associated with
dirty, muddy streets; people are often caught in the rain and become wet on the way to work or
to school. Thus, it would be good to stay at home or not to travel far from home. At that time, I
enjoy watching TV, listening to music, reading books, something like that.
15. What type of weather do you like best?
I suppose every season has its own mysterious and magical beauty. I simply adore the spring
because of its pleasing weather. I feel that the spring is the most beautiful, symbolic and
meaningful season. In the spring, people spend more time with others and are encouraged to take
part in more activities to enrich their lives. At that time, the weather is neither too hot nor too
cold, so it allows me to have the best concentration for the best effectiveness. I also have a short
break in spring for the new-year festival, which is enough for me to reenergize myself.
16. What kinds of things make you happy?
Well to be honest, I love watching my children when they are sleeping. That makes me feel very
happy and peaceful. My days usually are extremely busy, so while my children are sleeping, I
would have time to plan lessons or rest. In addition, I am happy when I'm with friends talking
about funny things that have happened to us. I also like watching comedians and comedies. It's
also a nice feeling when I can make someone laugh because I can see that I have made them
happy. It's great to share a funny moments with someone. Yes, of course. It's important to see the
funny side of things; humour helps us forget sorrows, pressure, or tension. I think that laughter is
good for our health.
17. What do you do if you feel unhappy?
Yes, when I feel depressed, or anxious, I would do the following things. First of all, I would
remind myself of reasons to live. Indeed, when things look really dark, it’s hard to feel grateful,
but remembering what’s good in our life can help us forget sorrows, pressure, or tension.
Second, I could remember my body, I would take a twenty-minute walk outside to boost my
energy and dissolve stress. I would not let myself get too hungry, and I should get enough sleep.
Finally, I would do something fun; for example, watching a funny movie is a reliable way to give
myself a pleasant break, and listening to my favorite music is one of the quickest ways to change
my mood.
18. Is happiness always a good thing?
I don't think so. To start with, we should understand so-called “happiness”. From my
knowledge, happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or
pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Therefore, when we hear the word
“happiness”, we always think of good things such as material wealth, spiritual wealth, emotional
balance, financial stability, etc. However, it has reported that happiness may not always be as
pleasant as it sounds. In fact, people who set a goal of achieving happiness often fall short,
leading to unhappiness and depression. Moreover, too much happiness is not healthy. Extremely
happy people, for example, who do not have positive thinking will take more risks than less
happy people. So, when it comes to seeking happiness, setting low expectations might be the
key.
19. What time of year is best for outdoor activities where you live?
I think the best time of the year for outdoor activities is the beginning of spring because of its
pleasing weather in my hometown. I feel that the spring is the most beautiful, symbolic and
meaningful season. In the spring, the weather is neither too hot nor too cold, so it allows people
to spend more time with others and is encouraged to take part in more activities to enrich their
lives. Some activities like organising sports competitions, going to the beach, camping,
swimming, and fishing are popular in spring. Moreover, at that time the Vietnamese people also
have a short break for the new-year festival, the longest and most important traditional holiday of
Vietnamese; therefore, it is definitely a good opportunity for people to get involved in activites.
20. What is the best time of day to study?
I think the best time of day to study is in the early morning. At that time, there is no one else
around and everywhere is completely silent. This means I am able to really get into what I’m
studying and I am not distracted by friends or family. In addition, my mind is absolutely fresh, so
I can gain more concentration for the best effectiveness. It’s definitely the most productive time
of day for me.
24. Why do some people like cooking?
I think many people enjoy cooking, especially women. I also like cooking, so I personally think
there are three great reasons why people like cooking. First of all, people love to create new
things, cooking provides a great way to express themselves as they can experiment with different
dishes and ingredients. Second, when people cook, they will have meals at home, so they would
have family interactions, which makes their family much cosier. Finally, some people feel bored,
especially old people or retired people or housewives because they have nothing to do.
Therefore, they like to spend time cooking, but it is a quite essential activity for their family.
25. Why do some people like gardening?
Gardening is one of the most populuar activities with many people, especially middle aged and
elderly people, probably because gardening is considered to be a relaxing and therapeutic
activity for many people. In fact, some people enjoy cultivating trees, nurturing them, seeing
them grow, etc; there is nothing that gives a gardener more satisfaction. Another purpose of
gardeners which should be taken into account is planting as a means of obtaining food or
making-money.
26. When was the last time you went on holiday?
The last time I went on holiday was about two years ago. My family and I went to Da Lat city
for one week during the summer holiday. Dalat is definitely an ideal destination for romantic
people and those who love windy highland climate. Those were impressions of my first time
when I traveled there. I was surprised at seeing a lot of beautiful landscapes, such as Valley of
Love, Cam Ly waterfall, Than Thở Lake, LangBiang Peak, etc. How wonderful! Another
surprise for me was that the weather is quite ideal as well. Thus, DaLat is located in the highland
of Vietnam, so the weather was very cool. That was, in the early morning at Xuan Huong Lake, I
viewed/witnessed the fog, a part of beautiful and romantic sights in Dalat, etc. I really can’t wait
to go back there!
27. When was the last time visitors came to your house?
The last time visitors came to my house was about six months ago. Some of my friends secretly
arranged and suddenly came to my house while I was preparing lessons for the following day. I
found it’s surprising because I did not find out reason why we had that party. After drinking a
couple of glasses of beverages, they told me that it was my birthday for that day and then I saw a
big birthday cake. It was definitely a really memorable evening.
28. Are bikes popular in your country?
Definitely, in my country the majority of primary school, secondary school, and high school
students come to school by bicycles. Moreover, most of blue-collar workers and low
socioeconomic classes are familiar with riding a motorbike. Although some people can afford for
a motorbike, they still prefer cycling to riding a motor. That may be cycling is the most
environmetally friendly in comparison to all means of transport; in addition, cycling is also better
for their health. I mean bikes are quite popular in Vietnam.
29. Is watching team sports popular where you live?
Sure, people, myself included, in my hometown are also quite into watching team sports like
football, volleyball, etc. In fact, whenever organising sports competitions, the stadiums are
always jam-packed with people. More noticeably, the majority of people in my city are big fan
of football matches directly showed on TV; if their favourite teams win, they would congratulate
with numerous activities. Generally speaking, watching team sports is an activity attracting many
people in Camau city.
30. Is playing sports popular in your school?
Well, I am in high/primary/secondary school, and the majority of students regularly play sports
such as football, volleyball, table tennis, martial arts, long jump, high jump, etc. The sports
facilities are quite enough and modern for most of kinds of sports, this enables players taking
part in playing sports enormously. I personally think playing sports in high school is now more
popular than before.
31. Did you ever learn to ride a bike as a child?
Yes, I did! As far as I remembered, my father bought me a really wonderful new bike as a gift
for my 7th birthday. I was fascinated by that bike although I could not ride. I was taught to ride
by my father, who was patient, helpful, kind, and determined to teach me to ride. I found it hard
to learn to ride at first, but my father was remarkably supportive, always encouraging me and
praising me whenever I rode well. It took me 3 days to ride well, and I would ride that bike every
late afternoon around my building complex.
32. Did you learn to swim when you were in school?
I did not learn to swim at school because my school was in the countryside where there was not
any swimming pool, but I had been able to swim before I came to school. To be more precise, I
was taught to swim by my parents in the rivers and ponds. I found it hard to swim at first, with
my parents’ patience and encouragement, I got to grips with it. Now, I am able to swim well
although I am not professional.
33. How has your hometown changed in recent years?
Camau, my hometown, has changed a lot in recent years. In fact, lots of low-rise buildings and
narrow streets have been replaced with tall apartment buildings with better facilities and much
wider streets. Now, there are more modern shopping centers, expensive restaurants and hotels as
well as small sidewalk eateries. Not long ago, there was not public transport, but now it is a
popular means of transport in my hometown. The government has spent a lot of money on
planting thousants of trees in the streets, so the city is more beautiful.
34. How have restaurants changed in your country since you were a child?
Actually, restaurants and eateries in my country have undergone tremendous changes for the past
few years. In particular, when I was a young, there were few restaurants in my city, most of them
were cheap and quite simple. Now, however, a wide range of restaurants line every street, some
of them are expensive luxurious restaurants. These are a lot cleaner and more elegant than the
small eateries. Nowadays, more and more people like enjoying luxury life at expensive
restaurants.
35. How would you improve your apartment?
The place I’m living in now is quite messy with too much stuff, and it makes it hard to keep
track of things. The roof has run-down; therefore, when it rains we can’t stand the rain water
falling down the floor. So, firstly, I would have the roof replaced and the walls painted a new
color. Then, I need to have a big tidy-up by getting rid of some of my things, and everything
must be well-organized. The members of my family should have more personal spaces. I think
my house would be much tidier and cozier.
36. How would you improve your school to make it better?
My university has really run-down. I suggest the authorities improve it by spending more money
on modernizing the classrooms and equipment. If I were an authority, I would have new
classrooms built, and the facilities should be innovative in an electronic environment such as
smartboards, projectors, video conferencing, laptop, and digital library. I find it necessary for
modern teaching approach. I would also hire more caretakers, and have more trees planted.
Having a more modern campus would make our life more pleasant and the place more appealing
to visitors.
37. How important is art in life?
I think art is exceedingly vital for our lives, especially for young children today. In fact, art can
help young children learn about the world around and about colors and shapes, which is useful
for children’s development. Actually, people need to see beauty everyday, so the value of art
should not be ignored. Beautiful paintings, sculptures and even buildings help us think more
deeply about life. Art is particularly important in life.
38. What do you want to do when you finish school?
What I really hope to do is to travel to some places of interest in my country with my family. It
would be a wonderful opportunity for my parents and my two children to experience new things,
enjoy luxury life, and widen knowledge. I think it would be so rewarding to do because my
parents have worked hard to bring up their children and have almost never traveled around. In
addition, I’d love to fulfill my father’s dream, which is visiting the Uncle Ho Mausoleum. I think
this would give my parents a great sense of satisfastion. Moreover, my children would have
worthwhile experiences. I will save up enough money to do that.
39. Tell me about your future ambitions
I’m happy that my profession is to teach physics, and I would like to become a good physics
teacher in the future. I think most teachers including myself feel that we have a sacred mission
which helps the young generation to be useful citizens for society. I always believe that the better
the teachers are, the better the students are. For that reason, if I could become a talented teacher,
I could help adolescents to construct a better country and a better future. I am studying seriously
to fulfill my dream. It would give me a great sense of achievement and job satisfaction.
40. Do people do enough physical exercise where you come from?
I think it depends on which age groups and social classes you are talking about. In my opinion,
the majority of young people and the working class don’t get enough exercise. In fact, in my
country, children are nowadays quite busy with endless homework, so they don’t have enough
time for doing exercise. Moreover, many children sitting in front of the screen play video games,
to name just a few. As for blue-collar workers, they have to work hard to earn their living, and
even when they get sick, they still have to go to work; otherwise, their family would not survive.
It would be good if people have good conditions to do exercise and enough awareness about
their health.
41. Do students get enough holidays in your country?
Yes, I believe that most students in my country have several holidays such as a long summer
vacation, a fairly long Tet holiday, national holidays and all sorts of other days off throughout
the year. Because they study hard, they need these vacations to help them gain more energy to
start the new days. I think that this is also necessary because they are chances for people to recall
their ancestors as well as the national traditions. Besides, festivals are also good opportunities for
people to relax their mind after hard days and strengthen their relationships.
42. How can you find out about national/international news?
Nowadays, there are quite a lot of ways people can obtain national news, such as buying a range
of magazines and newspapers at newsstands on street corners, reading in the library, watching
TV, surfing the Internet, etc. But generally, I usually surf the Internet to be informed.
Sometimes, when I am sitting doing nothing I read magazines or newspapers to get information;
these are well-respected sources of information.
43. How can people find out about local events/ entertainment in your city?
In my country, people can obtain local events from different sources of information such as
watching TV, listening to the radio, reading newspapers, surfing the Internet, mobile speakers,
posters, flyers, etc. Some people strongly believe that daily newspapers are an excellent way to
stay up to date with current affairs. Others care for searching on the Internet. I think it really
depends on condition to access information
44. How important is music for people in your country?
In my opinion, music is an indispensable part of people’s life. In general, different people enjoy
different kinds of music. Some types of music are good for escaping from daily life and thinking
about life, and other types are excellent for energizing people. Music has been means of
displaying ideas, experience, and difficulties of life. For example, when we feel sorrowful or
tense listening to our favorite kind of music is one of the quickest ways to change our mood.
45. How important is doing exercise?
Personally I think it is extremely useful for people to do exercise. People who regularly do
exercise can keep fit, healthy and happy. It is especially good for the elderly. In fact, if they
don’t exercise, their bodies would become more and more rigid and aging fast. Therefore, doing
exercise is incredibly important for people’s mental and physical health.
46. Should people be given longer holidays?
Yes, people certainly should! As I see it, nowadays, people spend so much time working or
studying because they are always so busy with their success and making money that they don’t
get enough time to take care of themselves. I strongly believe that people, especially workers
deserve to be given longer paid holidays so that they can relax more, gain more energy as well,
which helps them probably work harder because they are more contended with their jobs.
47. Is it difficult to learn another language?
I think that starting to learn a new language is extremely difficult, probably because it can be
very confusing to lots of unfamilar words and grammar, which learners don’t know how to use
correctly. Definitely, at first, its’s quite hard to get into learning new things, but after a while we
start to get better and more confident. Everything will be much easier and more comfortable if
we have a great approach and are crazy for learning a language. Once we get accustomed to a
new language, we will pick it up quite fast. I strongly believe that nothing is impposible, if we
try to do our best, we will succeed in what we are doing.
48. Do you think it’s difficult for young people to learn to play musical instruments?
Learning to play musical instruments is likely to incredibly hard for many people; however,
personally I think it is pretty easy for a majority of young children. In fact, most children may
often feel a bit awkward at first, but after a while, they will master it and make a steady progress.
From my son’s experience, after a few weeks of piano lessons, he could create his own melodies.
Therefore, it is not too hard for young people to learn how to play musical instruments.
49. Do you think that computer games are suitable for young children?
I believe that it is unsuitable for children to play video games although some people can argue
that playing some kinds of computer games promotes children’s creativity and assertive thinking.
A practical example for this is that my cousin used to play games too much, which led to several
negetive effects such as suffering an eye problem, having bad attitudes and behaviors, and
neglecting his studies. Nevertheless, with educational socialization, nowadays, some games have
educational purposes. So, it would advisable for parents to pay more attention to their children’s
development through playing games.
50. Are outdoors sports suitable for people of all ages?
I think most outdoors sports are appropriate for everyone. However, some vigorous sports like
climbing, abseiling, or white-water rafting are unsuitatble for some people, especially children
and elderly people. It is inadvisable for children to do/play adventurous sports when they do not
have enough experiences and abilities. As for the elderly, although they have useful experieces,
they are not astute and healthy enough to play such sports. I think people should play suitable
sports, which can help them to be fitter and energetic.

1. Are you a student or do you have a job?
Oh, I think I’m a student. Although I have taught physics in a senior high school for eleven

people stand by my side to comfort and give me support. I really love my great leadership who
gives his teachers the tools and freedom they need to succeed. Also, he is a good listener and

creates a great work environment.

I come from Cà Mau province, which is located in the southern extremety of Vietnam. It is far
from Cần Thơ city about 180 kilometers and takes about three hours by motorbike. Ca Mau is a
developing city, transforming from agriculture to industry based economy. For that reason,
besides mainly agricultural activities with rice and seafood as the key products, people in my
hometown has got started with industrial productions. The consequent characteristic of that,
which visitors can easily recognize when coming to my hometown, is the combination of
classical and modern infrastructures. There are a large number of factories among uncountable
rice fields and mangrove forests so that it can satisfy both people like an active life of city and
those who prefer the peaceful life of countryside. My hometown is famous for seafood with
some kinds exported such as shrimp, crap, octopus etc. There are many sea food restaurants and
sea food is very fresh and delicious. Besides, in my hometown there are plenty of fantastic
scenery and particular creatures thanks to diversified ecosystem. Especially, it has an abundant
animal and plant species area which is recognize the biosphere reserve of the world. For
example, DaBac island, CM cape, U Minh national forest, Hon Khoai islet. They are very
famous. So, thousands of people come here to visit every year. They like U Minh national forest
because it famous for honey as local food. Honey is delicious and natural. Especially Camau

resource.
9. Do you prefer writing letters or sending emails?
I prefer sending emails to writing letters. Actually, sending an email is faster and more
convenient than writing a letter because with only a mouse click we can send it immidiately. On
the other hand, it takes a few days to send and receive a letter; in addition, we have to use the
postal service for writing letters. Moreover, if we compose an email, we can correct spelling and
grammatical mistakes easier, and we can attach smileys, photos, icons to email, how interesting.
In the ever-changing world today, few people do not how to use an email, so it is so essential.
Last but not least, we can send an email to as many people as possible.

Well, there are many activities I like to do on holidays such as hanging out with my friends,
visiting my parents or relatives, taking the opportunity to visit some places of interests in or
outside my hometown, etc. However, the most attractive place is cafe shops or restaurants. My
family and my friends and I usually make appointments there to enjoy luxurious life, and gossip

To be honest, I am an academically oriented person; however, there are a few things I don’t like
about my study such as going to school is to business, staying up all night to cram for an
upcoming exam, getting school punctual, etc. In fact, my student life is sometimes tortured by
an overload of homework, succesive midterms and final exams, so I am always busy studying.
As a result, I don’t have enough time to take part in social activities or getting involved in team
sports, which can keep me fit and make me strong.
12. How long have you been learning English?
Well, in truth, I have learned English for 15 years. Unfortunately, in primary school, in
secondary school, or even in high school, I hadn’t learned English. I had studied English for a
year when I was in university. From that time on, I had not learned English for a long long time
until I had to take an entrance exam for master’s degree in 2005. From 2006 to 2013, I didn’t
study English. Until recent months, I have studied English correctly means. I mean that I have
been learning English for 10 months.
13. What advice would you give to someone starting to learn English?
Of course learning anything is difficult and English is no exception. However, there are some
ways to make the situation easier. I am keen on some following ways to learn English. First of
all, learning English takes time and patience. It cannot be rushed. Try to relax and take it easy.
Second, the most important thing you need at the beginning is a good vocabulary; without
words, you have nothing to work with. Third, learn English phrases, not individual words
because phrases give you a lot of information, much more information. In fact, phrases are
easier to remember because they have meaning, they have a kind of a picture, a story; especially
when you get them from something that you're reading or listening to. Furthermore, when you
learn phrases, you are learning grammar and how to use that word correctly also. A noticeable
way is that learn deeply. What does that mean? Well, deep learning basically means repeating
what you learn again and again and again, many, many times. In fact, students learn a lot of
stuff, but then they forget it, they forget what they learnt. It's because they never mastered it,
they never learned it very, very deeply. Last, but not least, learn English with your ears, not with
your eyes. If you want to speak excellent English, you should learn with your ears. Listening,
listening, listening and more listening is the key to speaking excellent English, it's the most
important thing, because if you listen a lot, you're are going to learn vocabulary, you will learn
grammar, you will get faster and you will understand better.
14. Would you like to learn another language in the future?
Actually, I’m quite enthusiastic about learning English, so I prefer to learn in English speaking
countries such as America, England, Australia, Newzealand, etc to improve my English skills
deeply. However, if not possible, I would like to learn Japanese because I would like to widen
my knowledge in Japan, In fact, Japan has the second largest economy in the world, so knowing
Japanese brings business opportunities. Moreover, Japanese is a gateway to other Asian
languages & cultures, which help me find out more about other cultures. Anyway, I am inspired
with studying English.
15. Tell me about the school that you went to when you were younger?
Let me tell you about my high School. That’s the best school in CM province, gifted and
specialized senior high school. When I was in my school it was quite scruffy and run-down and
even lacking of facilities and some rooms such having no laboratories, sports facilities, etc.
However, my school has undergone tremendous changes for the past few years. In fact, the local
government authorities have improved it by spending more money on up-keeping the grounds
and modernizing the classrooms and facilities. Especially there has been significant
improvement in education. I love my school very much and am proud to be a student of that
school.
16. What subject did you like best at that school?
When I was in PNH high school, I liked physics the best because I simply adore my physics
teacher who inspired me. He taught us by setting a good example for students us such as kind,
affectionate, how to teach, how to control a class, qualifications, future aspiration, etc, so many
students wanted to become teachers including me. Moreover, he was a kind of motivation.
Indeed, he was always enthusiastic about the subjects that he taught. That’s a good way instill
his students’ learning and help his students chose their future aspiration. That’s why I am now a
physics teacher.
17. What would you like to change about that school?
My university is really run-down.
Well, fortunately, I am now a colleague of my teachers being in that school. I hope
my school would be improved day by day. I personally think the tools such as te blackboard,
chalk, notebooks, hardcopy books, libraries with shelves of books should be innovative new
facilities in an electronic environment such as video projectors, electronic storage devices,
smartboard, digital libraries, video conferencing. Moreover, the main problem is the teaching
approach in Vietnam. In fact, the majority teachers and students work for exam in schools. To
my mind, that is the biggest problem that educational people of Vietnam should make necessity
challenges.
18. Do you like animals?
Yes, I do, especially cat, dog, fish and bird. Obviously, different people have different attitudes

19. What kinds of animal do people keep as pets in your country?
You see, there’s an extensive diversity of pets in my country, such as dogs, cats, monkeys,
geege, abundand kinds of birds, diversity kinds of fish, etc. If this question comes to my mind,
my answer is it depends on areas. I mean that in the rural areas people like keeping dogs, fish,
monkey, birds as pets. However, in the urban areas, people like dogs, geege, cats.
20. How do most people feel about animals in your country?
Nowadays, people in my country are paying more and more attention to animals. Just like
people in some foreign countries, the Vietnamese people are more aware of the endangered
species and they are trying to build some natural reserves, they also have pub. Established
organisations specialised in protecting animals. Also, the government is trying their best to
publish some news to attract more attention to animals. So anyways, our selection on pet
adoption helps us understand the responsibility that is required to adopt a pet. It also tells you
the numerous benefits that pet adoption can have, not only for the animal, but also for people.
21. What time do you usually get up in the morning?
Well to be honest. I nearly always get up early about 4 oclock. That’s my habit because I think
the best time of day to study is in the early morning. At that time there is no one else around and
everywhere is completely silent. This mean I am able to really get into what I am studying and I
am not distracted by friends or family. That’s why I try to get up early although it is hard for at
the beginning.
22. Who does the housework in your family?
Well to be fair, I live in nuclear family with my wife and two sons, I am the head of the family
and I run the family. My wife does most of chores, but when I have free time, I would share
chores and take care of our children.
23. Would you prefer to have a larger or smaller family?
To be honest, I prefer living in a small family to living in an extended family. There are many
reasons to explain it. First of all, people are living in a pravite house with small family which
allows all members to have a privacy to do what they want, such as save money, reduce
expenses, make adjustment to do chores, having peaceful enviroment. Secondly, it cannot be
denied that today parents don’t want to live with their grown-up children, in addition, we think
that fewer children is better life therefore size of family is smaller. Finally, more and more
people work in companies and large bussinsses in city. They, included myself, must be married
and start their own family.
24. How much traveling have you done?
Well to be honest. I am a big fan of tourism. Besides working to earn a living, travelling is an

not travelled to a different country but I wish to and will do that in near future.
25. Do you prefer traveling alone or in a group?
Well, in my opinion, it depends on the purpose of the journeys. If it is completely for tourisms,
I prefer to travel in a group rather than alone; in contrast, if I travel with a survey, I like
travelling alone. Usually, I go tour with my family and friends so we can share experience and
tighten our relationship and make more fun. However, I did it alone sometimes and I recognized
that travelling alone helps me with new experience of discovery and strong feeling of “DIY”
(Do it yourself).
26. When you visit new places, what do you like to do?
I enjoy visiting somewhere because I could do lots of things I like. In fact, I like learning new
things while traveling, such as experiencing customs and cultures in a new place. Moreover,

when I am upset or bored with work, I take a look at the photos I took with them. It eases the
tension. In addition, I like shopping while travelling. To be more precise, I prefer buying new
and strange things. Items often change depending where you go. Also, whenever I’m away, I

working and end up buying fast food at the last minute. Because of fast food’s numerous
benefits, there are many restaurants of fast food, opened in Vietnam.
29. Do you think people eat healthier nowadays?
I don’t think so. In my opinion, healthy eating means two things: One is eating a balanced diet
and eating the right amount of food. Why don’t people eat properly? First of all, to have a
balanced diet, you have to plan your meals in advance and then buy the right food, and then take
time to cook it properly. But, these days people are so busy working, they don’t have time to go
shopping, so they end up buying fast food at the last minute. Second, another reason why people
don’t eat well nowadays is that it’s actually cheaper to buy food already prepared in a packet.
So, people who haven’t got much money will buy packet food rather than cook something fresh.
Finally, and a final reason why people don’t eat healthily is that they don’t know how to cook. I
personally think schools don’t do nearly enough to educate their pupils in healthy eating habits.
That’s why people nowadays don’t eat healthily.

although there’s a wide range of hotel and hostels ranking from motels to three-star totels. It is
easy for travelers to find a convenient and reasonable-priced accommodation. There are not
luxury resorts and hotels which offer you the most private and comfortable accommodation. Or
even if when making a trip to these areas, for example, to visit ethnic minority villages, you

about the traditions and culture of Vietnam.

convenient.

Staying in hotels will definitely satisfy your travel needs. Obviously, hotels are establishments
that provide lodging and services to clientele in return for payment. In fact, hotels contain
features that make them the preferred accommodation for travelers. They provide security,
comfort and luxury. Hotels will cost more than motels, camping facilities, or hostels. However,
this will usually guarantee a cleaner room, a more comfortable bed, and more amenities, such as
a hotel swimming pool, sauna, gym, restaurant, gift shop, and laundry. In some cases, hotels will
offer extra services for an agreed fee, such as room services for meals, or dry cleaning that takes
place in-house.

price, and guaranteed quality.
40. What kinds of shopping are there in the area where you live?
