We are pleased to offer the opportunity to participate in our Dual Degree Program, which
allows you to earn two Master degrees within 2 years. This unique opportunity is tailor-made
and offered to you by Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance with our partner university -
Aston University, UK. Before applying, please ensure that you have carefully read the
following:

1. Admission Requirements: Admission criteria for the dual degree program may differ
between institutions. You must meet the requirements set forth by Symbiosis School of
Banking and Finance and the partner university Aston. Failure to meet the criteria of either
institution will lead to disqualification for the program.

2. Academic Regulations: You must comply with both institutions' academic regulations,
policies, and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance, assessment, grading
systems, and degree completion requirements.
3. Eligibility:
The candidate should be a graduate from any recognised University/ Institution and should
not have any backlogs. Candidate should be able to furnish required academic records on
demand.
Dual degree with Aston University, UK
Eligibility Requirement at SIU (as per SIU norms)
• Graduate from any recognised University/ Institution of National Importance
with aminimum of 65% marks or equivalent grade
• A candidate who has completed a qualifying degree from any Foreign University must
obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before
seeking admission to any program of SIU.
• The Evaluation Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) issues
equivalence certificate for foreign degrees/qualifications.
• Additionally for dual degree programme student needs to secure at least 6.5 GPA in
the first semester at SSBF

Eligibility Requirement at Aston University (in addition to the above)


• 60% overall in Bachelor’s Degree | 6 out of 10 GPA |4.2 out of 7 GPA + a
content minimum of 50% from each of the following areas:
Economics(micro/macro), Statistics, Quantitative Methods, Mathematics,
Finance
• A minimum of 75% (CBSE/ISC) or 80% (State Board/NIOS) in Standard
12th English for the reasons of compliance OR 6.5 (3 bands at 6.0, and 1 band
at 5.5) in IELTS
• Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from your previous institute or employer.
• Prior work experience is preferred however not mandatory. Work
experience/Internship document to be provided, if applicable.

3. Financial Obligations: Tuition fees and other associated costs will be determined by both
universities. Refer to the fees and funding options with the respective institutes. It's your
responsibility to get adequate funding for the program.

Fees for International students for the year 2024-25 is £23,500. However, there might be an
approximate increase of 3-7% increase in the fees for AY 2025-26. The same shall be
communicated in due course and when published by the university.
Scholarship:
15% Scholarship for 50-59% and 20% Scholarship for 60% or above
5. Valid Passport: The candidate should have a valid passport with a validity of minimum two
years. In case of any visa rejection from UK, Australia or any other country in the past, students
must present a Copy of visa refusal notice and a note explaining reason for visa refusal.
6. Visa and Immigration: Candidates applying for the dual degree program should hold a
valid passport with at least 2 years of validity. Upon securing admission, candidate will need
to apply for visa and should to comply with the immigration regulations of the host country.
Candidate will be responsible for securing the necessary documentation and maintaining their
legal status throughout the study period. Candidates will need to comply with the language
proficiency requirements of the host institute and provide IELTS score if required.

7. Travel and Accommodation: Arrangements for travel, accommodation, and other living
expenses are the responsibility of the student. It is advisable to research and plan these aspects
thoroughly to ensure a smooth transition and stay in the host country.
8. Health and Safety: Candidate must obtain appropriate health insurance coverage for the
duration of your stay abroad and should familiarize oneself with the healthcare system and
safety regulations of the host country to ensure your well-being.
9. Cultural and Social Adaptation: Living and studying in a foreign country involves
significant cultural and social adjustments. It is important to be prepared for these changes and
seek support when needed to ensure a positive and enriching experience.
10. Transfer of Credits: Credit Transfers shall be done as per SIU’s Credit Equivalency
policy. The transfer of credits between Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance and the
partner universities is subject to approval by both institutions. It is your responsibility to ensure
that the courses you take abroad will be recognized and accepted towards the completion of
your degree requirements. Please ensure that you submit the grade sheets/marks cards given to
you by the partner university after completion of your courses at the partner university for the
purpose of verification and credit transfer. To be eligible for degree from SSBF and the partner
university, there should be no backlog in any of the subjects. There should be no backlog in
Year 1 at SIU and any pending disciplinary action against the student at the time of application
to the partner university. If any arise subsequently, it may lead to disqualification of the student
from the dual degree program. Students must maintain at least 75% attendance record
throughout the duration of study at SIU.

11. Program Changes and Termination: Both SSBF and the partner university reserve the
right to make changes to the dual degree program, including curriculum modifications, changes
in partnership agreements, and termination of the program. Students will be notified of any
significant changes well in advance.
12 Placement Assistance: No direct placement assistance will be provided by SSBF and the
partner university. Students can appear for ONLINE PLACEMENT PROCESS, on the surety
to join if selected.

13. Standard of Passing:


SIU-Aston University
No backlogs
The assessment of the student for each examination is done, based on relative performance.
Maximum Grade Point (GP) is 10 corresponding to O (Outstanding). For all courses, a student
is required to pass both internal and external examinations separately with a minimum Grade
Point of 4 corresponding to Grade P. Students scoring less than 40% absolute marks in each
head of passing will be declared FAIL. The University awards a degree to the student who has
achieved a minimum CGPA of 4 out of maximum of 10 CGPA for the program.

At Aston University, you will be assessed through a combination of written and oral
examinations, class tests, individual and group coursework, projects, presentations and

14. Award of Degree:


SIU-Aston University
Master of Business Administration (Banking and Finance) with specialization in Financial
Services will be awarded at the end of semester IV examination by taking into consideration
the performance of first and fourth semester examinations after obtaining minimum CGPA of
4 out of maximum of 10 CGPA and successfully completing two semesters (one year including
internship) examinations at Aston University, UK in completing MSc in Finance program.

or equivalent. Students must submit SIU-certified mark sheets – Class 12 and
Bachelor’s Degree Certificate
• Minimum Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.0 in each band,
or equivalent

Projected Fees for 2026 and approximate cost of living – Fees for 2025 has been set at
A$45,100 p.a. For 2026, the fee increase is expected to be within 7%. Cost of living estimate
set by the Australian Government is currently A$29,710 p.a. (Please note that these are
projected and approximate numbers and are subject to change).
