    When talking about cultural values, innovation, and religion, art and architecture have always

    played an integral role in their sustainability and success. This paper will therefore seek elaborate
    on culture, innovation, and religion as expressed through art and architecture. The paper will
    serve the purpose of exploring how historical innovations in art and architecture built based on
    old historical developments lead to modern arrangements and styles. The paper will further focus
    on a specific example to give a clear understanding on how innovations do not just serve their
    purpose but also shape cultural and religious norms. The research will be based on formal
    analysis while including other elements such as the color, shape, line, and mode so as to give a
    detailed understanding on the innovation. It is also true that art and architecture have evolved
    over the years with now improved structural innovations which greatly impact the related fields.
    The focus here will be on two different structural innovations which are the development of the
    Dome Architecture of the Roman Empire and the Gothic Cathedral Design which was introduced
    in Medieval Europe. The two innovations illustrate how structures in the past were designed to
    develop memorable architectural works.
