the question paper. All questions are compulsory.
(ii) Section–A - question no. 1 to 10 - all questions and parts thereof are of one mark each.
These questions contain multiple choice questions (MCQs), very short answer questions and
assertion - reason type questions. Answers to these should be given in one word or one
sentence.
(iii) Section–B - question no. 11 to 17 are short answer type questions, carrying 2 marks
each. Answers to these questions should in the range of 30 to 50 words.
(iv) Section–C - question no. 18 to 22 are short answer type questions, carrying 3 marks
each. Answers to these questions should in the range of 50 to 80 words.
(v) Section–D – question no. - 23 to 25 are long answer type questions carrying 5 marks
each. Answer to these questions should be in the range of 80 to 120 words.
(vi) There is no overall choice. However, internal choices have been provided in some
questions. A student has to attempt only one of the alternatives in such questions.
(vii) Wherever necessary, neat and properly labelled diagrams should be drawn

4. What is the unit of physical quantity which is implied by the area of V-T graph?
5. What is called a solution in which no more solute can be added in the particular amount of
solvent?
Directions (Q. Nos. 6 to 8): Each of the following questions consists of two statements; one
is Assertion (A) and the other is Reason (R). Select the correct answer to these questions
from the codes (a), (b), (c) and (d) as given below:
a) Assertion and Reason both are correct and reason is the correct explanation of
assertion.
b) Assertion and Reason both are correct but reason is not the correct explanation of
assertion.
c) Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect.
d) Assertion is incorrect but reason is correct.

6. Assertion: An alloy is considered as a mixture.

Reason: It cannot be se separated into their constituents by physical methods.
7. Assertion: The movement of water molecules through a selectively permeable membrane is
called osmosis.
Reason: The movement of water across the plasma membrane is also affected by the
amount of substance dissolved in water.
8. Assertion: Distance and displacement remains the same when object is travelling in a
straight line.
Reason: Displacement is zero always when object is moving in circular motion.

same.
Newton’s laws of motion, three statements describing the relations between the forces
acting on a body and the motion of the body, first formulated by English physicist and
mathematician Issac Newton which are the foundation of classical mechanics.

i) What laws implies in it?

b) Second laws of motion
c) Third laws of motion
d) Laws of conservation of momentum
ii) Third laws of motion states that,
a) Total momentum before the collision is equal to total momentum after collision.
b) An object continues to be in a state of rest or of uniform motion along a straight
line unless acted upon by an unbalanced force
c) The rate of change of momentum of an object is proportional to the applied
unbalanced force in the direction of the force

same.

Cells are the basic building blocks of all living things. The human body is composed of
trillions of cells. They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert
those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions. Cells also contain the body’s
hereditary material and can make copies of them.
Cells have many parts, each with a different function. Some of these parts, called organelles,
are specialized structures that perform certain tasks within the cell.
