PREFACE

Part of the implementation of the Senior High School program is the conduct
of work immersion. This provides opportunity to Senior High School students to
experience the actual work environment. This experience will give them ideas
and learnings that can be useful in deciding for their future careers.
This workbook is designed to enhance the students’ understanding of work
immersion and make them ready for the actual work environment. This will also
keep the record of their learnings which will make their work immersion
experience more meaningful.

Activity 1 UNDERSTANDING WORK IMMERSION

Work immersion is one way of letting the students experience the actual work place
and condition. In order for them to fully understand how it is to become an employee of
any institution, it is important that they understand work ethics, safety and health, and
confidentiality in the workplace, workplace rights and responsibilities, and conflict
resolution and teamwork.

Objective:
Understand work immersion by learning and realizing the importance of work ethics,
safety and confidentiality in the workplace and conflict resolution and teamwork skills.

Instructions:
Students must attend a work immersion orientation on the following:

C. Workplace Rights and Responsibilities
D. Confidentiality in the Work Place

In applying for a job, one of the most important documents to present to the employer
is the resume and cover letter. Resume contains the summary of the personal
background, trainings, abilities, and skills of the applicant and shows the employer if the
applicant is fit for the position he/she is applying for.

Objective:
Appreciate the importance of credentials in applying a job.

Instructions:
Students must write a resume and application letter and secure the required documents for
immersion.
