Considering the development of today's society, big changes have

taken place in architecture, too. Some of it is built with different

materials or in different styles, but it's still important to remember
where the history, both of society and architecture, started, to keep
the traditions.
First of all, historical buildings surrounded by ancient houses act
as reminders of the past and the beauty of the architecture. People
in the past focused on unique and valuable styles of buildings and
decorations, so now these structures give us a nostalgic and intimate
feeling. They also serve educational and tourist purposes by showing
insights into historical events and cultures drawing the attention of
the visitors of the city. However, these buildings often cost a lot of
money because of the maintenance.
On the other hand, historical areas in cities dominated by
skyscrapers make one think about the evolutions of the city and
about what it took to get from one place to another. Also, they give
the city a greater diversity and improves the aesthetic of it. In big
cities, many people need to meet with each other, so historical
monuments are a great choice for that. Most of the modern
buildings are mainly built with iron, steel or concrete, so it can be
cheaper to maintain, but spending more on keeping the ancient
structures in shape is way more important.
In conclusion, historical monuments, buildings and areas are
significant for today's and future society to keep us reminded of how
much improvement have we made, but that does not mean that we
should stay in one place and not improve
