MERCEDES WIS EPC INSTALLATION GUIDE

Follow the instructions stage by stage, completing one stage before


moving onto the next stage

Stage 1: EXTRACTING THE DOWNLOAD FILES

Only use 7zip for the extraction, do not use WinZip or WinRAR. 7Zip can be download
from here, choose 32bit or 64bit depending on the Windows version you have.

STAGE 2: HOW TO EXTRACT THE DOWNLOADED FILES.

Right-click on the 001 file and select “Extract here” or “extract to”, do not select all the files.

You are wasting your time if you try to extract any of the other files, all the extraction is
handled by the 001 file.

If the extraction will not work reply to this message with a screengrab of the Windows
folder that contains all the downloaded files, making sure that file extensions, file sizes
and full file name are shown. Do not send any pictures via eBay as they will be
unreadable.

When the extraction is complete, you should see a file named “MERCEDES16 Clone-
disk1.vdi”.

STAGE 3: INSTALLING VIRTUAL BOX

To install Virtual Box, run the VirtualBox exe file which you have just extracted

When you install Virtual box is must be installed as an administrator, Right-click Virtualbox
and choose "run as administrator”

STAGE 4: FINAL STAGE

Now left click the file called “MERCEDES16 Clone.vbox” Virtual Box will now open.
If you use any other method of loading WIS into Virtual box other the then method
above WIS will not work.

Do not change the operating system of the virtual machine from Windows 7, if you do
then the virtual machine will fail to work. Virtual box has to know the operating system
of the virtual machine not your operating system

Select the Mercedes clone from the left hand pane

Go to settings and then system option.

Motherboard tab select how much ram you want allocate to the Virtual machine. Do not
allocate all your computers ram to the virtual machine. So if your computer has 2048mbs
of ram, do not tell the virtual machine to use 2048mbs, it will not work. For the virtual
machine to work you must allocate at least 1495mbs of ram

Next start the Mercedes virtual machine

Username is Admin and the password is 12345 for the Mercedes


WIS shortcut on the virtual desktop.

DO NOT let the virtual Windows update Java as the updated Java will
prevent WIS from working.

IF YOU DO NOT SEE 3 ICONS AFTER LOGGING INTO WIS

The license/startup key is linked to the address of the network card for
the virtual machine and if you do not use the correct method of loading
Mercedes WIS into Virtual Box then the link is broken and the program
will never work

Solution

Remove the current Mercedes virtual machine from Virtual Box (delete
the files when asked), extract the download files again, you do not need
to download the files again. Follow this part of the instructions.

Now left click the file called “MERCEDES16 Clone.vbox” to start


the virtual machine. Virtual Box will now open.
TO CHANGE THE LANGUAGE IN WIS.

1. Log into WIS


2. Press F2
3. Change the language
