TRIZ Level 1 Practitioner Workshop

In partnership
Inno Planet Sdn Bhd Information
In today’s knowledge-driven economy, innovation is essential for
success. The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), a renowned
Russian methodology, empowers individuals to enhance problem-solving
and innovation skills to meet international standards.
The Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association (MyTRIZ), in collaboration
with the International TRIZ Association (MATRIZ), offers a two-day TRIZ
Level-1 Workshop. This program provides participants with practical
insights, proven techniques, and tools to drive innovation while achieving
globally recognized certification.
Leading MNCs like 3M, Siemens, Samsung, Intel, Whirlpool, LG, GE,
and Boeing have embraced TRIZ as a strategic innovation tool to
maintain their competitive edge.

Course Outline
TRIZ Methodology and Implementation

▪ In 1946, Genrich Altshuller started studying patents

to deduce general principles governing technical
system evolution.

▪ He developed a systematic approach called TRIZ

for innovation & creative problem-solving.

▪ TRIZ enables systematic analysis, model

structuring, & problem-solving, proving to be
effective in addressing inventive challenges.

▪ The method's success is evident through its

adoption in global enterprises like 3M, Boeing, GE,
IBM, Nestlé, Siemens, Toyota, & more.

▪ TRIZ has become a valuable resource in fostering

innovation and problem-solving across industries.

“You can wait a 100 years for enlightenment, or you can

solve the problem in 15 minutes with these principles.”
~ Genrich Altshuller

Course Outline
Structured Problem Solving Process
▪ Step-by-step process to define a problem, analyze, identify causes,
develop solutions, discuss, standardize, and monitor progress.

Function Analysis
▪ People buy functions (functionality) not products. Understanding
functions is essential for TRIZ success. Function-based knowledge
allows immediate access to diverse solutions as solutions change, but
functions remain.

Cause-Effect Chain Analysis (CECA)

▪ A tool that helps refine problem statements and identify the root cause of
an issue.

Trimming
▪ involves eliminating non-essential components after understanding the
root cause, aiming for a cost-effective system with fewer parts.

39 System Parameters
▪ TRIZ defines 39 parameters that describe system characteristics.

40 Inventive Principles
▪ Altshuller analyzed 200,000 patents, finding solutions to contradictions
in 40,000 and derived 40 inventive principles for TRIZ.

Contradiction Matrix
▪ A fundamental tool in TRIZ. It is a structured chart that helps users
identify suitable inventive principles to resolve contradictions in engineering
systems.
