5 Categories of Abuse in family relationships

The types of abuse that a family may encounter include;

Domestic Violence, Spousal Abuse, Child Abuse, Elder
Abuse, and Neglect.
Domestic Violence
If the person has taken action to hurt you then calling the police is the best way to
distance yourself from the abuse. Telling a loved is also a reliable option to stop
abuse. If you have called police, but still fear that your abuser is after you, you can
file for a restraining order forbidding them from contacting you in anyway, but the
first step in the process is to recognize the abuse. Many try to cope by convincing
themselves they aren’t being abused when they really are so recognizing is the
most important step. The 2nd step is resisting this can be by showing small signs of
resistance towards the abuser. Finally the last R is to report. This one you have to
take action by reporting it to an authority figure.
Spousal Abuse
Spousal Abuse is when in the relationship they hurt each other. Usually it is one
side which it doing it. This leads to them getting divorced and they one who got
abused is hurt for life.
Child Abuse
Child Abuse is not good and it hurts the child mentally and physically. They will be
afraid all the time and they will not be social because of this. In the long term they
will not care about the parents anymore and probably leave them. They also will be
more afraid to do things in life since they were abused.
Elder Abuse
Its when you abuse the elderly and exploit them either mentally, umm or physically
abuse them as they are unable to defend themselves and do anything to stop it. In
the long term the elders will leave if they can and they will not contact or interact
with them ever again. Also they will probably not leave them anything as they were
abused.
Neglect
Neglect is when you treat something or someone with disrespect. An example of
this is when you don't feed your dog. In the long term if you don't feed your dog it
will die.
