On your self-guided tour, you can omit stops that you do not wish to visit and go to the next location.
Walking: From Yonge Street, head north and turn right onto Gould Street.
Connected to the Library Building, the SLC is a building dedicated to students. It is home to Student
Learning Support and Academic Accommodation. The School of Performance and their state-of-
the-art performance studios are also located on the lower level.
Walking: Continue east along Gould Street toward Church Street, pausing at the intersection of Gould Street and
Victoria Street.

The University Library provides academic supports and bookable study spaces, including computer
stations, experiential learning labs and digital and print collections.
b) Podium (POD)

Located here is the ServiceHub, a one-stop location for prospective students, current students
and alumni to get information on financial assistance, enrolment services and fees, as well as
undergraduate admissions and recruitment. The student support services located here include the
Tri-Mentoring Program, Aboriginal Student Services, International Student Services and the Career
and Co-op Centre.
This building is home to the School of Fashion’s state-of-the-art labs and studios, as well as the
Chemical Engineering offices. Starting at the Rogers Communication Centre, extending through Kerr
Hall South and ending at the Student Learning Centre, there is an above ground connection tunnel
that spans over four city blocks — a perfect way to navigate through campus during the colder
winter months.
Walking: Continue walking east on Gould Street toward Church Street. Cross at the intersection to the north-east
corner of Church Street and Gould Street.
This building is home to The Creative School, an impactful education hub and innovation ecosystem
at the heart of Canada’s media, design and creative industries. This is where you’ll find many of
Canada’s top schools and programs in their field, many of which are recognized as leading programs
around the world. It has four television studios.

Walking: Continue walking east along Gould Street toward Mutual Street.
The ILC is an 11-storey, former Ibis hotel that was built in 1987. It can accommodate 256 residence
students in its extra-large rooms, and also features a community kitchenette on each floor, a
common lounge with cable TV and laundry facilities. There is also a cafeteria and lounge space on
the main floor of the building.
Walking: Head north on the west side of Mutual Street, toward Gerrard Street. Take the path between RCC and
PIT, and you will arrive at Pitman Quad — an outdoor court gathering space.
This residence was built in 1991 and has 14 floors and 565 rooms. Pitman Hall features a community
kitchenette on each floor, a common lounge with cable TV and laundry facilities. The main floor
houses a cafeteria and the Housing & Residence Life offices. The second floor has community
lounges for larger events. Outside of Pitman Hall is the Pitman Quad, which is a green space for
students to connect and gather for events.
Walking: Continue walking west through Pitman Quad turning north toward the stairway path. To avoid stairs,
continue to walk west to Church Street and turn north to navigate to the next stop.
This building was built in 1981 and designed by Ron Thom, one of Canada’s best-known architects
who also designed the Shaw Festival Theatre and the Toronto Zoo. Home to the Department of
Architectural Science, this building contains drafting studios, workshops, a gallery and labs, and is
host to symposia, exhibitions, guest lectures and other events throughout the year.
This building includes seven state-of-the-art electronic classrooms, a computer lab and a video
conferencing classroom. Home to the School of Social Work office and classroom spaces, as well as
Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering offices, labs and classrooms spaces.
In 2002, two floors were added to Eric Palin Hall to house the Sally Horsfall Eaton Centre for Studies
in Community Health. It is home to the School of Social Work, School of Child and Youth Care, the
School of Disability Studies and Urban Health (PhD).
Walking: Head west toward Church Street and cross at the intersection to the west side. Cross at the lights again
to head north on Church Street to continue toward Carlton Street. Cross the intersection at Carlton Street to head
north, and then head west along Carlton Street to arrive at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (next to Loblaws).

Mattamy Athletic Centre (MAC)

This iconic landmark, the former Maple Leaf Gardens, is now our university’s Mattamy Athletic
Centre. It houses a world-class fitness and recreation facility, where you can take advantage of the
high-performance gym and community wellness spaces. Support our nationally ranked teams in
basketball, volleyball and hockey, who all play here. During the final exam period many students will
write exams on the Coca-Cola Court, as well as on our home ice rink (without the ice). The ice rink
is also used as a large event space that hosts important ceremonies such as convocation, student-
run initiatives including The School of Fashion’s Mass Exodus year end fashion show and community
events with incredible speakers such as Chris Hadfield and Michelle Obama.
Walking: Head south along Church Street toward Gerrard Street, turn right onto Gerrard Street and continue west.
The CUI is a state-of-the-art research, incubation and commercialization hub focused on finding
solutions to urban infrastructure issues to define cities of the next century. This collaborative
research space is 65,000 square feet in the centre of the city and utilizes our industry connections
for research and innovation in areas such as alternative energy, water management, food production,
artificial intelligence, data analytics, transportation and smart urban infrastructure.
Walking: Head east back to the intersection of Church Street and Gerrard Street, cross south at the intersection
and turn right to approach Kerr Hall North and continue west. Turn left to enter the open gates to continue into the
Quad.
Kerr Hall East (KHE), Kerr Hall North (KHN) and Kerr Hall West (KHW)

East: Kerr Hall East is home to the Faculty of Science’s programs including Medical Physics
(undergraduate), and Biomedical Physics, CAMPEP Medical Physics and Complex Systems
(graduate). Many physics labs where students participate in research can be found here.
North: Kerr Hall North is home to The Theatre at The Creative School, a multifunctional venue that
can accommodate 1,237 audience members. One of the largest theatres in Toronto, it hosts Toronto
International Film Festival screenings. This wing of Kerr Hall is also home to the Faculty of Science
offices.
West: Inside Kerr Hall West are two of our university gym spaces where students can participate
in intramural sports. Outside the doors of Kerr Hall West, you can see the Early Learning Centre
playground. Early Childhood Studies students can have their field placement experience working
with children ages 18-months to four-years-old here.
Walking: Head south along the Quad path toward Kerr Hall South and exit to Gould Street. Continue east along
Gould Street toward Church Street. Cross to the south-eat corner of Church Street at the intersection.
The ENG building is a $70-million facility that is home to the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural
Science’s Aerospace, Biomedical, Computer and Electrical Engineering programs, our Faculty of
Science’s Computer Science labs and general lecture halls. On the roof, there is the award-winning
Andrew and Valerie Pringle Environmental Green Roof. The Urban Farm grows plants and vegetables
here, as well as in several additional gardens across campus.

Walking: Cross intersection heading west on Gould Street and turn left (south) on Church Street.
The first eight floors are classes and labs for Nursing, Occupational and Public Health, Nutrition and
Food and Midwifery. Beyond the eight floors is an 18-floor residential tower, providing on-campus
accommodation for students in either two-bedroom or four-bedroom apartments.
Our Interior Design program is top-ranked in the world, and calls this building home. Here you’ll find
three floors of dedicated studio and maker spaces equipped with technology that allows for the
development and testing of ideas.
Our all-ages campus pub is a space for students to connect with the community, relax, play pool or
get on the dance floor. This dynamic space can host social events like viewing parties for Raptors
and Blue Jays playoff games, dances or even board game nights.
Walking: Continue north on Church Street toward Gould Street, turn left on Gould Street, remain on the south
Gould Street and continue west.
This building is home to Oakham Cafe, an on-campus gem. It offers a calm environment, views
of student artwork on display and laid-back music. All menu items are selected and priced with a
student’s budget in mind.
Our Student Union and Equity Service Centre are located in this building for students to get involved
with initiatives like the Racialized Students Collective, The Good Food Centre, the Centre for Women
and Trans People and more.
Walking: Continue west on Gould Street toward Bond Street, turn left on Bond Street, continue walking south.
Home to the School of Urban and Regional Planning and our Faculty of Arts: Psychology Research
and Training Centre.

Walking: Turn around and head back north on Bond Street.
The Heidelberg Centre is home to Graphic Communications Management at The Creative School,
the only degree-granting program for future managers in the printing industry. This $12-million
facility was funded by industry and features state-of-the-art software, hardware, pre-media labs and
post-press lab equipment including bindery, digital, instrumentation, packaging and press labs.
This is home to the School of Image Arts’ Photography and Film Studies programs. Also located
in this building is Balzac’s Coffee Roasters, a proudly Canadian and female-founded cafe chain
franchise with a loyal, local following across 14 different locations in Ontario.
Walking: Continue north and turn left onto Gould Street, continue west.
An international centre of excellence open for free admission to the public. It includes the Black Star
Collection — 292,000 photo journalistic prints, a sizable fine art photographic collection and several
world-renowned artist archives. At night, the exterior wall facing Lake Devo has LED screen panels
that light up in an array of different colours.
Gould Plaza
Intersection of Gould Street and Victoria Street
With signature lighting and outdoor furniture, our pedestrian-only path offers a special place of pride
in the heart of downtown Toronto. Events held here include orientation activities, a summer farmers
market and free skating during the winter months on Lake Devo.
Walking: Continue west on Gould Street and turn left on Victoria Street.
Home to The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, Canada’s leading provider of
university-based adult education.
This is where students get their textbooks and any supplies they may need for their classes.

Walking: Turn left and continue west on Gould Street. Turn left and continue south on Yonge Street toward Dundas
Street, turn left on Dundas Street.
The Cineplex Theatre hosts many of our classes during daytime hours. Students can grab some
movie popcorn before heading to class and can lounge in plush leather chairs during class.
Walking: Cross intersection heading south on Yonge Street. Continue west toward the Ted Rogers School of
Management, cross intersections to get to the south-west corner of Yonge and Dundas, continue west on Dundas
Street.
This building is located at the intersection of Bay and Dundas, steps away from Canada’s biggest
financial district. The Ted Rogers School of Management is accredited by the International
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of only 10 business programs in
Ontario that is AACSB accredited, and one of the seven per cent of business schools worldwide that
hold this prestigious accreditation.
