PART 1

SET 1: An important conversation I had was with my best friend last

year. We talked about our future plans, and I was feeling confused
about my career choices. My friend listened carefully and shared their
experiences, giving me advice that helped me gain clarity. This
conversation was crucial because it helped me understand my goals
and made me more confident in making decisions. I realized that
talking to someone you trust can offer new perspectives and support
when you’re uncertain. It was a turning point for me, and I’ll always be
grateful for that moment.

SET 2: A time I felt very lucky was when I won a small prize in a raffle
last month. I was attending an event with my friends, and I never
expected to win anything. When my name was called, I felt both
surprised and excited. The prize was a gift voucher for a nice
restaurant, and I decided to share it with my friends. We had a great
time together, enjoying good food and each other’s company. I felt
lucky because not only did I win, but I was able to spend quality time
with the people I care about. It was a fun and unexpected experience.

SET 3: A time I had to see a doctor was last year when I caught a bad
cold that lasted for several days. It was a very uncomfortable time
because I had a sore throat, a headache, and a high fever. After trying
home remedies for a few days without improvement, I decided to visit
the doctor. The doctor prescribed some medication and advised me to
rest and drink plenty of fluids. This meeting was important because it
reminded me how crucial it is to listen to my body and seek
professional help when I’m not feeling well. I also realized how
important it is to prioritize my health and well-being, especially during
stressful times.

SET 4: An old and wise person I know is my grandmother, who is 85

years old. She has always been a source of wisdom in my life. What I
admire most about her is her calmness and the way she handles
difficult situations. She is always ready to listen to others and give
advice, drawing from her long life experience. My grandmother has
taught me the value of patience, perseverance, and how to maintain a
positive attitude in the face of challenges. I often go to her for advice,
especially when I am uncertain about a decision. Her perspective on
life has influenced me greatly, and I feel lucky to have her as a role
model.
SET 5: One of the most memorable trips in my life was a family trip to
the countryside last summer. It was a simple trip, but it left a lasting
impression on me. We spent the day hiking, enjoying nature, and
having a picnic by a beautiful lake. The air was fresh, and we could
hear the sounds of birds and flowing water all around us. What made
this trip special was the time we spent together as a family, away from
our busy lives. We shared stories, laughed, and enjoyed each other’s
company. This trip was memorable not only because of the stunning
scenery but also because it gave us a chance to reconnect and
appreciate the small joys in life.

SET 6: One environmental problem in my city is air pollution, mainly

caused by cars and industrial activities. The increasing number of
vehicles on the streets, combined with the emissions from factories,
has created serious pollution. The effects are evident in the form of
smog, which affects visibility and makes it harder to breathe. People
with respiratory conditions, like asthma, are especially vulnerable. To
solve this problem, I think the city should promote the use of public
transportation and electric vehicles. Additionally, more green spaces
and trees should be planted to help absorb the pollutants. People
should also be encouraged to reduce their carbon footprint by using
bicycles or walking whenever possible.

SET 7: To stay fit, I regularly practice yoga every morning. I started

doing yoga about a year ago, and it has become a part of my daily
routine. I do a series of stretches and breathing exercises that help me
feel more flexible and relaxed. Yoga has not only improved my physical
health but also my mental well-being. It helps me manage stress and
focus better throughout the day. I also feel more energized and ready
to face the challenges ahead. The most successful part of my yoga
practice is how much it has improved my posture and flexibility, and it
has become an important habit for me to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

SET 8: A teacher who had a significant impact on my education was

my high school literature teacher. She was passionate about teaching
and had a unique way of bringing literature to life. I loved how she
made every lesson interesting by connecting the themes of the stories
to real-life experiences. She taught us to think critically and express
our opinions clearly. This teacher influenced me not only in terms of
academics but also in how I approach learning and life. Her
encouragement and support made me more confident in my abilities,
and I still carry the lessons she taught me with me today.
SET 9: A cultural event I am interested in is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It
takes place every year in the fall, and it’s a celebration of family,
togetherness, and the harvest moon. During the event, people gather
to eat mooncakes, light lanterns, and enjoy performances. I find this
cultural event interesting because it connects me with my heritage and
allows me to appreciate traditional customs. It’s a time when families
reunite and share moments of joy. The festival not only celebrates the
moon but also emphasizes the importance of family and unity, making
it a meaningful tradition for many people.

SET 10: A project I had to do as part of my studies was a group

presentation about the impact of social media on communication. We
were divided into teams, and each team was responsible for
researching different aspects of social media, like its influence on
relationships and business. My role was to focus on the negative
effects of social media, especially in terms of mental health. The
project was successful because we all contributed ideas, and our
presentation was well-received. I learned a lot about teamwork,
research, and how to effectively present information. It was an
enjoyable experience that helped me improve my skills in
communication and collaboration.

PART 2
SET 1: I don’t agree with the idea that social media is harmful to our
relationships. While it can sometimes cause misunderstandings, it also
allows people to stay connected across distances. Social media helps
us share important moments and keep in touch with friends and family
who live far away. It can even help people find support and advice
from online communities. So, I think the positives outweigh the
negatives if used properly.

SET 2: I disagree with the idea that schools should only teach
academic subjects. While math, science, and language are important, I
think schools should also focus on teaching life skills. These include
things like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Learning
about arts, music, and sports can also help students develop a well-
rounded personality, which is essential for success in life.

SET 3: I don’t agree with the idea of using animals in scientific

experiments. Even though it can lead to important discoveries, it’s not
fair to harm animals for human benefits. Many alternatives, such as
computer simulations and cell cultures, are now available and can
provide similar results without the need to test on animals. We should
focus on finding more ethical ways to conduct research.

SET 4: I don’t think video games are harmful to children. In fact, many
video games can teach problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity.
Some games also help improve hand-eye coordination and cognitive
skills. As long as children play games in moderation and balance them
with other activities, video games can be a positive influence.

SET 5: I don’t agree with the idea that people should always follow the
crowd. While it’s true that we should consider the opinions of others,
we should also think for ourselves. It’s important to have the courage
to make decisions based on our own values and beliefs, even if they
are different from what others expect. Being true to yourself is more
important than fitting in.

SET 6: I don’t believe that technology is making people less social.

While it’s true that people spend more time on their devices,
technology also helps people stay in touch with others, even when
they are far apart. Video calls, social media, and messaging apps allow
us to communicate instantly and share our lives. Technology can bring
people closer, as long as we don’t let it replace face-to-face
interactions.

SET 7: I don’t agree with the idea that books are outdated in today’s
digital age. While technology has made information more accessible,
books still have an important role in education and entertainment.
Reading books allows us to focus and imagine, and it helps develop our
language skills. Books are also a source of comfort, and many people
still prefer the feeling of reading a physical book over a screen.

SET 8: I believe that homework is essential for students’ success. It

helps reinforce what they learn in class and teaches them discipline
and time management. Homework also provides an opportunity for
students to practice problem-solving on their own, which is a valuable
skill. As long as the homework is manageable and relevant, it plays an
important role in education.

SET 9: I don’t think that eating fast food is bad as long as it’s in
moderation. Fast food is convenient, affordable, and can be part of a
balanced diet. It’s not about avoiding fast food completely, but about
making healthier choices when we do eat it. For example, choosing
grilled chicken instead of fried or opting for a salad instead of fries can
make a big difference.

SET 10: I believe that everyone should be responsible for their own
actions. No one can control the choices we make but ourselves. Taking
responsibility for what we do shows maturity and helps us learn from
our mistakes. Blaming others or external factors only prevents us from
growing and improving. We need to accept accountability if we want to
succeed.
