(a) In a fund-raising lottery for the high school. 42% of the money collected is given as cash
prize. There are eight cash prizes altogether. The first prize winner gets K3500, the
second gets K3100, the third gets K2700 and so in arithmetical progression.
(i) How much money does the eighth person get? [2]
(ii) How much prize money is there altogether? [2]
(iii) How much money does the school receive? [2]
(b) The first and second terms of an arithmetic progression are 100 and 95 respectively. Find:
(i) Tenth term [2]
(ii) The sum of the first ten terms [2]
