I. Overview
Many power systems, railway systems, large-scale petrochemical plants and

enterprises have a lot of electrical equipment whose internal insulation are mostly oil-filled

insulation type, and therefore, test on insulating oil dielectric strength is common and

necessary. To meet the needs of the market, we have developed and produced a series of

insulating oil dielectric strength testers according to national standard GB/T507-2002,

industry standard DL429.9-91 and the latest Electric Power Industry Standard

DL/T846.7-2004 by ourselves. This instrument, by using a single-chip microcomputer as

the core, can operate in full automation with high accuracy, greatly improving work

efficiency and reducing the labor intensity of workers. Moreover, it is small in size and

convenient to carry.

II.Key Function And Feature

1. With a microprocessor, automatically fulfill the withstand voltage test for oil circulation

with a range of 0 ～ 80KV (including boosting, maintaining, mixing, standing,

calculation, printing and other operations)

2. Display by large-screen LCD and prompt by English menu.

3. Simple operation. The machine will automatically complete the withstand voltage test

on one cup of sample oil after simple setting by the operator. Breakdown voltage

value of 1 to 9 times and recurrent times will be automatically saved. After the test,

the thermal printer will print each breakdown voltage value and average value.

4. Power-down preservation. It can save 100 tested results.

5. Adopt a single-chip microcomputer to boost the voltage at an even speed. The

voltage is accurate at 50HZ, ensuring the whole process easy for control.

6. Equipped with over-voltage, over-current and limit protections to ensure the safety of

operators.

7. With the function of displaying the measured temperature and system clock.

8. Communicate with computer with a standard RS232 interface.（Optional）

IV. Operational Approach

1.Preparation Before Test
1) Connect the earth terminal (on the right side of the equipment) to the earth wire firmly

before start the equipment.

2) Sample the oil according to relevant standard. Adjust the electrode distance inside

the oil cup with standard gauge. Clean the cup according to relevant requirements.

Pour the sample into the cup and close the cap.

3) Switch on AC220V power supply after the above items are confirmed, ready for the

test.

If you choose "Cust om" , you can choose boos t condit ions accor ding to

③ Test:

Press the “Test” key to enter the following interface:

“ ” to exit the test int erf ace and ret urn to the main inter f ace.

Click the "P gUp" or "PgD n" but t on to flip pages to display test dat a at

Click on the "D el" but t on to delet e the test dat a displayed in the curr ent

int erf ace, but if you click on the blue icon in the upper right corner of the

int erf ace, you can delet e all test dat a stor ed in the inst rum ent. Please

oper at e with caution.

By select ing the "US B " but t on, all test dat a st ored by the inst rum ent can be

impor t ed into the U disk. How ever, bef or e clicking the but ton, make sur e

that the inst rum ent is inser ted int o the U disk.

V. Precautions
1) The select ion, placing and elect rode dist ance of the oil sam ple bef ore

test ing shall meet relevant nat ional and indust rial st andar ds.

2) The oper ator s or ot her per sonnel ar e st r ict ly for bidden to touch the

 casing af t er the pow er is swit ched on to av oid accident s.

3) The pow er shall be cut off imm ediat ely if any abnor mal ev ent is found

dur ing the oper at ion.

4) New oil cup or cleaning the oil cup should be 24 times br eakdown af t er

test ex ecution. When oil cup don't do exper iment s should us e clean oil

imm ersion

VI. Maintenance
1) This equipment shall not be ex posed in moist env ir onment .

2) Keep the oil cup and the elect rodes clean. Fill the cup with fr esh

tr ansfor mer oil for pr ot ection dur ing it s idle. Check the elect rode dist ance

and check the tight ness bet ween the elect rode tip and elect rode bar screw

thr ead bef or e the cup is used again.

VII. Oil Cup Cleaning Method and Common Fault

Clearances
1. Oil Cup Cleaning Method
1) Wipe the elect rode surf aces and bar s again and again with clean silk

clot h.

2) Adjust the elect rode dist ance with standar d gauge.

3) Use pet r oleum et her (ot her or ganic solvent s ar e for bidden) to clean

thr ice. Each tim e shall follow the bellow pr ocedur es:

a) Pour the pet r oleum et her int o the oil cup till the cup is 1/ 4 ～ 1/ 3 full.

b) Cover the cup mouth with a piece of glass cleaned by pet r oleum et her.

Shake the cup ev enly for one minut e wit h cer t ain force.

c) Pour aw ay the pet r oleum et her and dr y the cup with a blow er for 2~ 3

minut es.

4) Use the oil sample to be test ed to clean the cup for 1~ 3 times.

a) Pour the pet r oleum et her int o the oil cup till the cup is 1/ 4 ～ 1/ 3 full.

b) Cover the cup mouth with a piece of glass cleaned by pet r oleum et her.

Shake the cup ev enly for one minut e wit h cer t ain force.

c) Pour aw ay the lef t oil sam ple and then the test st art s.

2. Agitating Blade Cleaning Method

1) Wipe the agit at ing blade again and again with clean silk clot h unt il fine

par t icles ar e not found on their surf aces. It is for bidden to touch the

surf aces wit h hands .

2) Use for ceps to clam p the blade; put them int o pet r oleum et her and

wash.

3) Use for ceps to clam p the blade and dr y them with a blow er.

4) Use for ceps to clam p the blade; put them int o the oil sample to be

test ed and wash.

3. Oil Cup Storage

Meth o d 1 Fill the cup wit h good insulat ing oil af ter the test is finished and

place it stable.

Meth o d 2 Clean and dr y the cup under the above pr ocedur es and then put

it int o a vacuum dr yer.

No te: The oil cup and agit at ing blade shall be cleaned under the above

pr ocedur es af t er the first test and test s with poor oil.

4. Common Fault Clearances

1) Pow er light off, sc reen display off

① Check the plugging of pow er plug.

② Check the condit ion of the pr ot ector tube inside the pow er plug.

③ Check the socket elect ricit y.

2) No punch through oil cup

① Check inser ting of connector s on cir cuit boar d.

② Check contact ing of cap high- voltage sw itch.

④ Check br eak of high- voltage line.

3) Pr int er failure

① Check plugging of pr inter pow er line.

② Check plugging of pr inter dat a line.
