USE: 2 – 80 mm2 THHN Cu + 1 – 22 mm2 THHN Cu (G) IN 50 mmØ RIGID METAL CONDUIT
Where:
I = Line Current (Amperes)
V = Distance of device from source (m)
K = Constant (2 for 1Ø, 1.7732 for 3Ø)
R = Line resistance
X = Line reactance
L = 15 m
R = 0.079, X = 0.052 or Z @85% = 0.094 STEEL CONDUIT
As per PEC, Article 2.15 FEEDERS, FPN No. 2: Conductors for feeders as defined in Article 1.1,
sized to prevent voltage drop exceeding 3%at the farthest outlet of power, heating and lighting
loads, or combinations of such loads, where maximum total voltage drop on both feeders and
branch circuits to the farthest outlet does not exceed 5%, will provide reasonable efficiency of
operation.
%R = 0.75
%X = 0.60
%Z = 3.5
2 2
ZC MAIN = [L× (√(R +X ))] ×2 / (n×305)
2 2
ZC MAIN = [15× (√(0.079 +0.052 ))] ×2 / (1×305) = 0.009303 Ω
ZA = ZT + ZC-MAIN
ZA = 0.035 + 0.00879 = 0.04379 pu
Say 200 Amps Circuit Breaker should be rated not less than 5,000 AIC system for main. (22KAIC
is used).
