This HOT WORK PERMIT is required for any operation involving open flames or producing heat and/or sparks. This includes, but is not limited
to: Brazing, Cutting, Grinding, Soldering, Thawing Pipe Torch - Applied Roofing, and Welding

REQUIRED PRECAUTIONS CHECKLIST


Available Sprinklers, hose streams, and extinguishers
are in service Remove other combustible where possible.

Hot Work equipment in good condition & within the


standards Floor swept clean of combustibles
Flammable liquids, dust, lint, and oil deposits removed Fans and Conveyors isolated or shut down
All wall and floor openings covered Combustibles on other side of walls moved away
Enclosed equipment clear of all combustibles Confine space or lockout / tagout pemit required
Area smoke or heat detection had been covered
properly Spark retardant covers are suspended between works to collect sparks.
Barriers/ Fire Curtains to be set up to prevent direct eye
contact by other person with the arc of flame. All Oxy-acetylene units must be fitted with an anti-flashback arrestors.
No painting during hot work activity Assigned workers should be equipped with complete PPE
Tenant Safety Officer will be provided during the activity.
Tenant Safety Officer is equipped with suitable fire extinguishers and Fire blankets
Tenant Safety Officer is trained in the use of fire extinguishing equipments and in sounding the alarm
Monitor hot work area periodically for 1 hour after job is completed
Upon completion of works Tenant Safety Officer of the work area and all adjacent will be maintained to ensure no fire conditions occur.
Property Management/Security will be notified on completion of hot works.
Final Checks to be carried out by the Property Management
A fire check of the work area and all adjacent areas where sparks may spread, ensuring no fire conditions occurred.
De-Isolation of smoke detectors in within hot works area within 45 minutes of completion of works.
The work area has been cleaned and clear to prevent any trip or slip hazards
