    PERSONAL STATEMENT FOR MASTERS IN CLIMATE CHANGE AND DIVERSITY


    UNDER THE ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARSHIP

    I am writing to express my strong interest in pursuing a Masters in Climate Change and Diversity
    under the Erasmus Mundus scholarship program. My name is Mbara Cham, and I am currently a
    Master’s degree student at the University of Indonesia, where I am furthering my studies in
    Marine Science Research.

    My educational background has provided me with a solid foundation in the field of agriculture
    and environmental science. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of The Gambia,
    where I gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricate relationship between agriculture,
    the environment, and sustainable practices. My time at Gambia College also exposed me to the
    Higher Teachers Certificate program in agriculture and science, enhancing my skills in
    effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.

    Throughout my academic journey, I developed a deep passion for understanding the impact of
    climate change on marine ecosystems. This fascination led me to pursue my current Master's
    program at the University of Indonesia, where I am delving deeper into the intricate dynamics
    between climate change and its effects on marine life. Through my coursework, research
    projects, and fieldwork experiences, I have gained valuable insights into environmental impacts,
    mitigation strategies, and the importance of diversity in the face of climate change.

    In addition to my academic pursuits, I have actively engaged in extracurricular activities related


    to environmental conservation. I have participated in various volunteer and community-based
    projects aimed at raising awareness about climate change and advocating for its mitigation.
    These experiences have not only solidified my commitment to addressing the challenges posed
    by climate change but have also strengthened my ability to work effectively within multi-
    disciplinary teams, demonstrating my strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

    The Erasmus Mundus scholarship offers an unparalleled opportunity for me to further expand
    my knowledge and skills in climate change and diversity. The program's focus on
    interdisciplinary approaches, coupled with its diverse academic and cultural environment, will
    enable me to gain a comprehensive understanding of the global implications of climate change
    and contribute to innovative solutions.

    I hope to bring my unique perspective as a student from The Gambia to the program, sharing
    experiences and knowledge from my home country, where the impacts of climate change are
    acutely felt. Through this scholarship, I aspire to develop a deeper understanding of the
    challenges faced in different regions of the world, and contribute to implementing effective
    strategies to mitigate climate change and promote diversity.

    I am grateful for the opportunity to apply for the Masters in Climate Change and Diversity
    program under the Erasmus Mundus scholarship. I firmly believe that my academic background,
    research experiences, and unwavering dedication make me a strong candidate for this program. I
    look forward to the possibility of joining your esteemed institution and collaborating with like-
