Municipal Health Officer

Dear Hon. Dela Cruz :

Greetings from IMAP Officers and the Board of Trustees!

IMAP has been an accredited training institution by the DOH to conduct Family Planning training for
midwives since 2016. DOH accreditation is good for three (3) years and is renewable. IMAP, as a DOH-
accredited training institution, has prepared the ground for the regional/local chapters in FCBT
training of midwives.

We are delighted to inform you that the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines, Inc.
(IMAP) has been granted another subcontract project entitled: “Training and Certification of Health
Service Providers in Family Planning Service Delivery” by Reach Health. The project aims to support
the training and certification of health service providers (HSPs) in various family planning (FP)
services, with a focus on Reach Health sites with limited access to FP training providers. This initiative
particularly targets HSPs from primary care facilities, including private lying-in clinics.

The project commenced on June 16, 2023, and is scheduled to conclude on December 15, 2023. To
enhance the family planning services provided by private clinics in the region, the project has outlined
a blended method of training programs covering FCBT 1, 2, Postpartum IUD Insertion, and Progestin
Subdermal Implant Insertion. These programs are designed for selected private practicing midwives.

We are pleased to extend an invitation to you and your staff to participate in the Family Planning
Competency-Based Training for Region 6, which will be conducted on the following dates:

• FPCBT 1 - October 2 - 6 , 2023

• FPCBT 2 – PSI Insertion - October 26 - 27 , 2023
• FPCBT 2 IUD Insertion (PPIUD) - November 13 - 17 , 2023

We have also attached the list of participants, along with the training dates for your reference. Your
presence and support would be highly valuable in ensuring the success of these training initiatives.

Furthermore, we are pleased to inform you that the Family Planning Coordinators of the provinces of
Iloilo and Negros Occidental have expressed their agreement and support for the proposed trainings,
recognizing their relevance and importance in their respective provinces.

Thank you for considering this invitation, and we anticipate your favorable response to this matter.
Should you have any questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out
to us. Your commitment to improving family planning services is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

,
