 Career and Placement Cell
Career and Placement Cell (CnP cell) in IIT Mandi helps students with
their careers.
It does so in two ways:
1. The first is by spreading awareness among students about the
plethora of fields that exist in the professional world and helping
them prepare for the fields of their choice. For this purpose, the
CnP cell organizes career and guidance sessions, workshops, and so
on throughout the year.
2. The second is by connecting the institute with the industry and
maintaining a strong relationship between the two. This is done by
inviting companies to the campus for hiring interns and full-time
employees. The CnP cell organizes campus internship and
placement drives every year, in which companies from various
domains participate and recruit interns and employees from
among the supremely talented community of IIT Mandi.

This report presents a brief overview of the internship and placement

drives organized by the CnP cell over the last few years, starting from the
academic year 2016-17. The statistics are presented in the form of tables
and graphs.

 Year-wise Internship Statistics
For students of the Bachelor of Technology program at IIT Mandi, doing an
internship is mandatory, and so all B.Tech students do internships. The Career
and Placement Cell inviting companies for hiring interns from IIT Mandi.
Internship season comes around every year and a large number of students
get their internships through the campus drive, even as there are still students
who prefer to apply on their own.
Some well-known companies that have visited IIT Mandi for hiring interns in
the internship drives include Google, Schrodinger, Walmart, Uber, TI, Flipkart,
Indeed, Sprinklr, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Samsung Bangalore, Siemens,
Intel, AMD, etc.
Note: In view of the Covid-19 situation, the internship was made optional
for B.Tech 2017-21 and 2018-22 batches.
