TOURIST ATTRACTION IN BUTUAN CITY, SURIGAO AND SIARGAO

This museum is the


repository of historical and
cultural materials and
artifacts that proves
Butuan’s prehistoric
existence and rich cultural
BUTUAN heritage. There are two
NATIONAL exhibit galleries. The
MUSEUM Archaeological Hall and
Ethnological Hall
Specimens of stone crafts,
metal crafts, woodcrafts,
potteries, goldsmithing,
burial coffins, and other
archaeological diggings are
exhibited. At the
Ethnological Hall are
exhibits of contemporary
cultural materials the
Butuanon or every Filipino
for matter used for a living.

The museum is several

MUSEUM more or less 5 minutes

site /shrine museum
is Sitio Ambangan,
Libertad, Butuan
City where the 320 AD
dated boat is now on
display. The first boat was
discovered in September
06, 1976 and dating was
conducted by Gakushuin

It is the largest and least


disturbed freshwater
AGUSAN MARSH wetland in the country. The
WILDLIFE marsh plays an important
SANCTUARY ecological role in Caraga
Region and has a complex
network of marshes, rivers,
lakes and ponds

Reaching the Banza


Church Ruins is relatively
straightforward. From
Butuan City's center, head
southwest towards
BANZA CHURCH Barangay Banza. The ruins
RUINS are conveniently located,
making it an accessible
attraction for tourists. Many
local transportation options,
such as tricycles and
jeepneys, can take you to
the site. Navigating the
narrow streets of Barangay
Banza will lead you to this
historical treasure.

Magellan's Anchorage,
nestled in the quaint city of
Butuan in the Philippines,

Battle of Surigao Strait
Museum, a historical
museum established in
BATTLE OF Surigao City. It will officially
SURIGAO STRAIT open on the 70th
MUSEUM anniversary of the Battle of
Surigao Strait Museum on
Oct 25, 2014. It is the only
museum in the world that
has a complete display of a
"fired" WW2 Japanese
aerial torpedo which did not
hit its target and instead
dived into the sand, only to
be found 70 years after.

Silop Cave is located at
Brgy. Silop, Surigao City. It
is a 20 minutes ride from
the city center. You can
SILOP MULTI- either take a jeep bound to
CAVES arellano then alight at the
barangay Silop junction or
you can hail a habal-habal
that would take you directly
to Silop Barangay Hall
where the registration
process takes place.

Lake Mainit, located on


the border of Surigao del
Norte and Agusan del Sur
provinces,
northeastern Mindanao, Ph
LAKE MAINIT ilippines. The country’s
fourth largest lake, it has
an area of 58 square miles
(150 square km). Its outlet
is the Tubay River, which
flows southward before
entering Butuan Bay of
the Mindanao Sea. Lake
Mainit is skirted on the east
by the Philippine-Japan
Friendship Highway,
connecting Surigao and
Davao. The area has
secondary forests, and
rice, corn (maize), and
bananas are grown.

Siargao is a teardrop-
shaped island located on
the northeastern coast of
Mindanao. It is best known
for its reliable surfing

between U.S. and
Australian warships and

Museum in Balanga City stands

Shrine stands as a top
