Nature of the Business
Torta de Riso is a cottage enterprise food manufacturing business that
combines the founders' passion for cooking with their skills and abilities in
Entrepreneurship. The business model involves buying goods and creating new
products, which are then sold at affordable prices to customers. The motivation
behind establishing Torta de Riso is to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in
Entrepreneurship, with the founders' passion for cooking serving as the driving
force to turn their skills into a successful business venture.
In the short term, Torta de Riso aims to establish a stable business
operation, meet the desired profit margin, and refine its products and services to
meet customer needs. Once these goals are achieved, the business plans to
expand its operations to increase market share, become globally competitive in the
food industry, and continuously innovate and improve products to stay ahead in the
market. To achieve its goals, Torta de Riso will focus on developing a unique value
proposition, building a strong brand identity, establishing strategic partnerships, and
continuously monitoring and evaluating business performance to make data-driven
decisions.
To become globally competitive, Torta de Riso will need to stay up-to-date
with the latest trends and technologies in the food industry, develop a robust online
presence, ensure compliance with international food safety and quality standards,
and develop a competitive pricing strategy to attract customers from diverse

CHAPTER 1

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Torta de Riso is a new food business located in Barangay Sampaloc I,

Dasmarinas, Cavite. It is a rice balls filled with chocolate and dried mango,

designed to balance the sweetness of each ingredients. The food business

provides a combination of excellent food at a lower price. Torta de Riso is a ready

to eat food to be consumed wherever you are, as an answer to the increasing

demand of ready to eat foods. The ultimate goal of the business is to be the

destination spot of every consumer around the area and to always offer the best

food product.

The business aims to target all the students, kids, parents and workers to

buy and patronize the product. The entrepreneurs will go to promote Torta de

Riso to all consumers by innovating the food products. Appeal to the lower

income and attract customers who are good in purchasing decisions, price

sensitivity, and also customer's loyalty. The tagline “Dito ka sa Riso, Limampiso

mo Panalo”, indicates the tasty rice balls with its affordable price. Torta de Riso

offers authenticity and uniqueness to the consumer’s preferences. The pricing

strategy of the business is with a retail price of five pesos (P5). The food business

makes use of broadcast media (social media), face to face, and word of mouth as

a promotion strategy which helps to promote the product to possible customer.


CHAPTER II
MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION

A. Company Name : Delicacix Corporation

Torta de Riso is a food business founded in 2019 and was proposed by

Grade 12 students of Accountancy, Business and Management as a requirement

for their subject Entrepreneurship. Through innovation the team come up with the

name Torta de Riso which means fried rice balls. The business introduces a new

delicacies that their customers will surely love. Because of its uniqueness, the

product will capture the customer's preference of their comfort food since it has a

different taste. And for it to succeed we offer variety of strategies to maintain our

profit and provide good services to our customers.

B. Address

Our business will be located beside CS2 Royal King Properties

Inc. Bldg., along Emilio Agunaldo Highway, Sitio Pala-pala, Brgy. Sampaloc

1, Dasmariñas, 4114, Cavite. We decided to put our business in this location


since many people walk along these way and wait for a ride to take them home.

Which technically a perfect location for a delicacies store since they can purchase

our product for "pasalubong".

To offer and serve the best food product in an affordable and

reasonable price and to make our customers always remember the

authenticity and uniqueness of our product.

The manager is an employee who is responsible for planning,

directing and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of a business

unit, division, department, or an operating unit within an organization. The

manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the work of a group of

people in many instances

C. Workforce and Personnel Support

- Finance Manager

Financial managers are responsible for the financial health of an

organization. They produce financial reports, direct investment activities, and

develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of their
organization. Financial managers work in many places, including banks and

insurance companies.

• Marketing Manager

Marketing managers control all of the communication between a

company and its customers. They manage internal teams in order to craft

promotional messages, and they work to publish media across multiple

channels. Marketing managers work with many different forms of media,

from more traditional newspapers and billboards to digital advertising and

social platforms.

• Production Manager

The main role of a Production Manager is to oversee the

manufacturing process within a company and to ensure that production

lines run without any problems and minimum downtime. Working together

with supervisors and top management, they also ensure that products are

manufactured to a certain quality standard and adheres to other

safety/industry-related regulations.

• Chef

A chef is in charge of the kitchen in restaurants or other places

where food is served. They watch all activity and food preparation with

any staff that would assist in the kitchen. They supervise the preparation

of food for its garnishing and presentation, as well as, the seasonings for a

perfect taste.

• Cashier

A Cashier's primary role is to assist customers in the in-store check-


out process. Main duties include ringing up sales, bagging items,

requesting price checks, honoring coupons, collecting payment and giving

appropriate change.

PRODUCT PLAN
A. Purpose of the Product

The main purpose of our product is to be the best food product that

can be offered and served to in an affordable price to make sure that

everyone can buy and be satisfied with it. Additionally, it can be served as

an appetizer, dessert, and merienda which makes it more suitable anytime

and for everyone.

B. Product’s Unique Features

- For as low as five pesos you can get a snack that has health benefits.

- Sticky rice also known as glutinous rice serves as a good source of

selenium, a beneficial mineral. It offers antioxidant protection for your

tissues, shielding your cells from damage caused by free radicals.

- Sticky rice also offers health benefits due to its manganese content.

- We need manganese for a healthy metabolism.

- We use different ingredients that makes it unique from the existing

delicacies in the market. Like bread crumbs to make it crispy in every

bite, chocolate and dried mango filling for a balanced sweet and sour

taste.

D. Production Process and Controls that will be Used to Manufacture

the Product

Below is the procedure to create a Torta de Riso:

Step 1. Making the Dough


In a mixing bowl, put the glutinous rice flour and add a water little by little
while mixing them. Be careful on adding water so that you can meet the exact
texture of the dough.

Step 2. Filling with Chocolate and Mango


Get a mixture of the rice flour and water. Flatten it and put a right amount of
chocolate and mango. Make it looks like a ball and make sure that the mixture
covered all the chocolate and mango inside.

Step 3. Dipping
Whisk the egg to blend it perfectly. Then dip the balls in it.

Step 4. Coating
Roll it on the flour

Step 5. Dipping
Dip it again on the egg.

Step 6. Coating
After dipping, roll it on a bread crumbs for a crunchy feeling.
Step 7. Frying

In a low to moderate heat, wait until the oil is ready for frying. Afterwards
deep fry the rice balls until it become golden brown.

E. Distribution Logistics

Our business has its own stall beside CS2 Royal King Properties

Inc. Bldg., along Emilio Agunaldo Highway, Sitio Pala-pala, Brgy.

Sampaloc 1, Dasmariñas, 4114, Cavite so you can directly visit it. We also

use social media for means of ordering. The customers will have the option

to pick-up their merchandise or have it delivered in their homes. It will

also be available to schools and companies if they choose to sell our

product.

F. Regulatory and other Compliance Issues

Torta De Riso business will be registered as a partnership

enterprise with Security and Exchange Commission (SEC). A duly

notarized articles of partnership. The BIR registration will also be done

after the procurement of licenses and clearances from necessary

government offices. A registration with government offices is also needed

because we're employing individuals and lastly, acquisition of business

permit and mayor's license should also be done.


CHAPTER IV
MARKET PLAN

A. The Competitor

Competition in the local area is somewhat sparse and does not


provide nearly the level of product quality and customer service as
Delicacix Corporation. Local customers are looking for a high quality
product in a relaxing atmosphere. They desire a unique, and classy
experience. Leading competitors purchase Buko Pie, Siomai, and other
delicacies products like puto, bibingka and other kakanin product. In
addition leading competitors sell other kakanin products, buko pie, and
siomai through other channels of distribution like brochures, television,
radio, and and also through social media. Larger chains vary their product
mix depending upon the size of each store and its location.

B. Marketing and Sales Strategies


• Product
Torta de Riso ensures the high quality of the product ensuring the
safety and compliance to the sanitation and proper conduct of cleanliness
of the product. The company foresee every operation to ensure nothing
goes wrong to the production. All ingredients, equipment and tools are
guaranteed safe. The product is homemade with a unique concept of
innovation but still have a plausible standard authentic taste. Torta de Riso
is naturally made to meet the healthy standards of the society as it includes
healthy ingredients like mango and glutinous rice flour.
Lastly, the company will not just stick with the same innovation. As
time goes by, the company will also expand and continue to try different
twist in the product for the continuous improvement to ensure a good
quality product.

• Place
The place where the seller will sell the product Torta de Riso is
beside the CS2 Royal King Properties Inc. Bldg., along Emilio Agunaldo
Highway, Sitio Pala-pala, Brgy. Sampaloc 1, Dasmariñas, 4114, Cavite.. It
is the places where the seller start-up their business. The company
decides to sell in this place because it is the ideal place with growing and
diverse population. And also, We decided to put our business in this
location since many people walk along these way and wait for a ride to
take them home. Which technically a perfect location for a delicacies store
since they can purchase our product for "pasalubong".
The entrepreneurs envision business prosperity; we aim to be
credible enough for you to be able to sell in other public and private
establishment which shows our business credibility.

Price is very important to the success of the business. Torta de Riso
(Delicacix Corporation) aims to meet the customers’ satisfaction that’s why
the price five pesos (P5) is budget friendly with a unique and high quality
authentic taste. The financial aspect of the company is well planned
because the operations are well monitored. The company also budgets the
needed supply for the operations while also foreseeing the outflows and
inflows of cash that being use for the starting up of the business.

• Promotion
Torta de Riso wants to promote the unique concept of rice balls with
its striking taste to the beloved customers. The business ensures the high
quality of the product for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the
operation. The price is affordable and showcases the authentic and
uniqueness of its taste. Promotion objective of Torta de Riso consists of
costumers’ satisfactions, costumers’ relationships and continuous
improvement which is important for the customer’s guaranteed purchasing.

The company have advertising strategies to promote the business
product in the public. These are the following methods that the company
used to promote the product.

Broadcast Media is the most advantageous means to promote and
transmit the information to much possible audience. It is widely viewed by
many people; however Internet currently shows relevance in terms of
showcasing much possible content which competes to the primary
source of information which is television. Social Media is arguably popular
in promoting food related product such as face book and you tube. The
information about the business will be posted to social media which can
also showcase the viewers’ feedback about the business. It is easy and
convenient way to promote business to the society because of the widely
use of technology.

The company will also relay with the customers ‘’word of mouth’’ or
the customers passing of information to other people which also helps the
company to introduce the business to the people they know.
➢ Face-to-Face
The company will also conduct a face to face interaction to
the customers by hiring people who can communicate with the
customers to introduce the business. This kind of promotion is
efficient to promote and get customers.

The sales strategy will emphasize that buying in Delicacix
Corporation is very easy, accessible and a pleasing experience. It will be
quite important to have a friendly and approachable staffs in the future
course of the business.
Delicacix Corporation will also rely on other factors to help boost
sales. The first is exemplary customer service. Having excellent service will
provide the customer with the feeling that the business is looking out for
the customer’s interest. And, sales will be boosted by offering customers a
very good product. Delicacix Corporation will ensure economical value for
a food without sacrificing its quality.

E. Market Analysis Summary

It was observed that high school students, college students, and by-

passers are among the biggest market for the product. These market segments

favor the product in an affordable price especially the students. Moreover, an


aggressive marketing campaign through the use of social media, face to face

and tapping various schools and companies will be done to increase the

visibility of Torta de Riso. The business offers different prices based on the

size with price ranging from 5 pesos to 1,200.

F. Assessment Risk

There are lot of delicacies available anywhere today. Torta de Riso is


new and an ambitious product but because of its meticulous preparation, its
quality is assured and the taste will not be compromised. It will surely keep up
with the competition.

STRENGHTS
First and foremost, Torta de Riso tastes so good and is authentic. It is
made of quality ingredients which are locally made and has nutritional value,
and it is worth its price. The factors that can counts to the advantage of this
business are the strong employee attitudes and their skills in making their
specialty which is the Torta de Riso. This product will promote through social
media and they can sell this product to a bigger audience with the used of
social media. Another factor for this business is the excellent customer service
and the personal relationship of the employees with the customers that can
help to boost their sales.

WEAKNESSES
There are lot of competitors which is usual in a food industry. As a start
up business, it can be a disadvantage, since the crunchiness of this product
lose when the time passes. In addition, new normal might be a practice now in
every community. With this, it would be a disadvantage too if the product will
not be sold in a certain period due to limited people traffic.
