    Look at the alphabet in English:

    These vowels and consonants have different sounds in English:


    Vowels : Example: A
    Apple-Airport (é) / Austin (á) / April (êi)/ Always
    (Ó)

    Example : E
    Eight 8 ( ê) / Expert (é) / engineer

    Example : I
    Life (ái) / Live (i)

    Example : O
    Oxford (ó) / Old (ô)

    Example : U
    Uniform ( iu) / Umbrella (ã) / U FO (u)

    Consonants:
    Example : H
    H ouse/ H ome/homeland (r aspirado) / Shame (x)/Shower/Chimney
    Obs: O “h” não tem som, mas vai formar novos sons junto a outras consoantes.

    Example : TH

    Thoughts / think ( som parecido com F/S, sem vibração das cordas vocais)
    That/This/ Those ( som com vibração nas cordas vocais)

    Example : D

    Sound (t ) : words ended in s/k/p/sh/ch /tch -


    missED; walkED; watchED; H elped; WashED.
    Sound (d ): words ended in vowels and other consonantes like
    m/h/ g/r/l/b/z/v - StudieD; ReaD; LoadED…
    Sound (Id ) : verbs with two syllables : Wai - ted; Wed - dED.
