9 cm and the vessel is turned upside down. Find the volume of the liquid and to what height will it
reach in the cylindrical part.

(b) Mohan has a recurring deposit account in a bank for 2 years


at 6% per annum simple interest. If the gets ₹1200 as interest at the time of maturity, then find
(i) The monthly installment.
(ii) The amount of maturity.
(c) Prove that :

(a) A man invests ₹3960 in shares of a company which pays 15%
dividend at a time when a ₹25 share costs ₹33. Find :
(i) The number of shares he bought.
(ii) The annual income from his shares.
(iii) The rate of interest which he gets on his investment.

(c) Water Tower : A water tower is a building that is used to hold and give out water. It is almost
always built on a high place. It works because a pump gives water to the tower, and gravity makes
the saved water go out to the places that need water. Those places are connected to the tower by
pipes. A water tower is good when there is no power because it uses gravity to send out the water.
A water tower is located 60 meter from a building (see the figure). From a window in the
building, an observer notes that the angle of elevation to the top of the tower is and that the
angle of depression to the bottom of the tower is .

(b) Trading House A sells a TV set to Retailer B in Maharashtra for Rs 60,000. Retailer B sells the TV
to Mr Gonsalves at a profit of Rs 8,000. Mr Gonsalves uses the TV for his personal use in his
Bungalow. If all the transactions are under GST system at the rate of 12%, find:
(i) Total SGST paid by Retailer B
(ii) Total amount paid by Mr Gonsalves
(iii) Total tax paid by Trading House A
(c) In the figure given below, O is the centre of the circle. PQ ∥ SR,
SQP = 260. Find :
(i) SPQ
(ii) SRQ
(iii) STR

(a) The 5th , 8th and 11th terms of a G.P. are p, q and s, respectively. Show that = ps.
(b) A cylindrical glass container of diameter 16cm has water to a height 10cm. A metal cone of radius
4cm and height 5cm is immersed in it completely. Calculate the height by which water will rise in
the glass container.
(c) The marks obtained (out of 100) by 400 students in an examination are given below:

(b) In the figure, l and m are two parallel tangents to a circle with centre O,
touching the circle at A and B respectively. Another tangent at C
intersects the line I at D and m at E. Prove that DOE = 90°.

(a) Solve the quadratic equation : – ,


using quadratic formula. Write the answer upto two
significant figures.
(b) Construct an isosceles triangle ABC such that AB = 6 cm, BC = AC = 4 cm. Bisect C internally
and mark a point P on this bisector such that CP = 5 cm. Find the points Q and R which are 5 cm
from P and also 5 cm from the line AB
(c) The figure above shows three straight lines L1 , L2 and L3 .
i) Find an equation of the straight line L1 ,
given that it passes through the points
A(7,3) and B(9,9) . L2 is perpendicular to L1
and passes through A .
ii) Find an equation of L2 .
L3 meets L1 at the point B and L2 at the point C .
The equation of L3 is .
iii)Determine the coordinates of C .

(a) Solve the following inequation, write down the solution set and represent it on the real number
line: –
(b) The co-ordinate of the rectangle PQRS having its vertices P (-4, 5), Q (-1, 5), R (-1, -2), S (-4, -2).
Draw the image of the figure when reflected in y-axis.
(c) A plane left 40 minutes late due to bad weather and in order to reach the destination, 1600 km
away in time, it had to increase its speed by 400 km/hr from its usual speed. Find the usual speed
of the plane.
