WHAT IS JAVA ?
JAVA is high-level, object-oriented programming language
It’s platform-independent, meaning programs can run on
any device with Java Virtual Machine (JVM).

enterprise applications.
ORIGIN
Developed as "Oak" in 1991 by James Gosling and team at
Sun Microsystems.
Renamed to Java in 1995 after the coffee that inspired the
name.
Initially designed for consumer electronics but later
adapted for internet applications.
