A fear I have about my college experience as an international student is feeling

homesick and struggling to adapt to a new culture. Being far from family, friends, and
everything familiar can be overwhelming. I feared about the time management like
cooking managing daily activities and going to university for five days a week, doing
groceries and every step of the life by myself while I was in my home country my work
was just to study as well I worry about missing important moments back home or
feeling isolated in an unfamiliar environment. Additionally, the academic system here is
different from what I am used to, and I fear I will fall behind or not meet expectations.
The pressure to succeed while adjusting to a new country feels like a lot to handle.

Another fear is not being able to communicate effectively due to language barriers
because even if I know English, I cannot navigate the listening of native speaker and
reply to them fluently Even though I’ve studied English, I’m nervous about
misunderstandings or not being able to express myself clearly in class or social
situations. I also worry about making friends and fitting in, especially when others
might not understand my background. However, I am trying to stay positive and take
small steps to overcome these fears. I have joined international student groups in
Facebook now which helps me a lot to comfort myself like we do not have to be perfect
and am practicing my language skills to build confidence so that I could interact in mass
as well as give my presentation. While these challenges are real, I believe they will help
me grow and improve myself day by day.
