I. OBJECTIVE
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other text types serve as
sources of wisdom in expressing and resolving conflicts among individuals, groups and nature;
also how to use evaluative reading, listening and viewing strategies, special speeches for
occasion, pronouns and structures of modification.
B. Performance Standard The learner skillfully delivers a speech for a special occasion through utilizing effective verbal and
non-verbal strategies and ICT resources.

C. Learning Competencies Compose an argumentative essay. (EN10wc-IIh-13)

D. Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:

1. Identify the six elements of an Argumentative Essay.

C. Motivation The teacher will divide the students into two based on which stand they want to be. The topic is
“Should students be required to wear uniforms in school?”
The winner will be identified by these criteria.

D. Lesson Presentation The teacher will paste the meaning on the board and the students will guess the word that it
describes. There are blank spaces under the meaning to write their answer.
