Course Outcomes:
After successful completion of the course students will be able to:

CO1 Understand the concepts of addressing modes & instruction set of 8085 & 8051.
CO2 Develop skills in simple program writing in assembly languages.
CO3 Understand commonly used peripheral/ interfacing ICs.
CO4 Understand typical applications of micro-processors and micro-controllers.

Indexed addressing, Bit inherent addressing, bit direct addressing. 8051 Instruction set,
Instruction timings. Data transfer instructions, Arithmetic instructions, Logical instructions,
Branch instructions, Subroutine instructions, Bit manipulation instruction. Assembly
language programs, Assemblers and compilers. Programming and debugging tools.
Module V: Memory and I/O Interfacing (12 Lectures)
Memory and I/O expansion buses, control signals, memory wait states. Interfacing of
peripheral devices such as General Purpose I/O, ADC, DAC, timers, counters, memory
devices.
External Communication Interface
Asynchronous Communication. RS232, SPI, I2C. Introduction and interfacing to protocols
like Blue-tooth and Zig-bee. Module6: Applications (06 Hours) LED, LCD and keyboard
interfacing. Stepper motor interfacing, DC Motor interfacing, sensor interfacing.
