pronouns. Are you familiar with demonstrative
pronouns?
Demonstrative pronoun refers to a pronoun
that points out a person, place, or thing. There
are four demonstrative pronouns, but today I will
discuss only two. It will be this and that.
I will show you a table for you to understand
the difference between this and that.

We use this if we our pointing to something

that is near to us and also if it is singular. When
we say singular, it means one person, place or
thing.
Example:
This is my pencil.
This is my book. Yes, Ma’am.
This is a bag.
This is a chair.
Always remember if you are going to use this This is my lunch bag.
in a sentence make sure that your subject is
singular and you are near to what you are This is my friend Ana.
referring to. Do you understand?
Okay, can you use demonstrative pronoun
this in a sentence? Billie.
Good job, Billie. How about Cathy?
Great answer!
Okay, now let us proceed to demonstrative
pronoun that. Unlike this, we use that if we are
pointing to something that is far from us and also
singular.
Example: Yes, Ma’am.
That is an apple. That is my hat.
That is a bird. That is my bag.
That is my bike.
That is my friend. Yes, Ma’am.
Do you understand? None.
Good! Can you give me an example, Mish?
Great! How about Lexine?
