Chapter 4 and 5
Chapter 4 and 5
This study will focus on the Grade 10 EIM students, perception in Hazard
and Risk in Electrical Installation and Maintenance at Lantungan National high
School. This study seeks to explore this central questions.
What are the perception in Hazard and Risk in electrical installation and
maintenance?
Sub-Questions
1. What are the most common hazard associated with Electrical Installation and
Maintenance?
Results
The result of this study were obtain through interviews (5) five EIM students.
Based on the results obtained in response to the overall researcch questions of
Grade 10 EIM students, perception in Hazard and Risk in Electrical Installation and
Maintenance. Themes and Sub-Themes are extracted. More complete results can
be seen in Table 1.
Table 1.
THEMES SUB-THEMES
Damaging the circuit breaker The circuit breaker will be burning if the
connection are not perfect.
It will cause a short circuit
The wrong connection of wire will cause
Electrocuted short circuit.
This Themes has two Sub-Themes including "The students will be electrocuted
if they not know how to connecting the wire" and "If the wire are not perfect in
connecting it will give the student electric shock"
The students will be electrocuted if they not know how to connecting the wire
"Para sakin ang isang halimbawa ng panganib ng EIM, pwede kang masaktan
ang iyon Sarili dahil sa Kuryente o iba pang mga bagay na aksidente" [ For me an
example of danger of EIM is you can hurt your self due to electricity or other
accidents ]- E.I.M C
"Ang posible nga hinongdan nga naay disgrasya kabang wa ka kabantay nga
ga wiring nga naay ga dikit nga mga wire". [ The possible cause of the accidents is
that careless wiring with sticky wires ]- E.I.M B
If the wire are not perfect in connecting it will give the student electric shock
"Sama anang mag wiring mo sa inyong eskwelahan dli gyud nato ma hibal-an
Ang mga mahitabo" [ It's like when you do wing in school we don't know what will
happen ]- E.I.M E.
This Theme has four Sub-Themes including "Wearing a safety gears PPE
can protect our body and prevent electrocuted", checking the breakers is need to
prevent accident", "Use self protective equipment to prevent accident", " proper
timing in connecting wires".
Wearing a safety gears PPE can protect our body and prevent electrocuted.
"Before ka mag wiring chekon daan namo ang breaker kung naka on ba or
naka of, Di raka ma kurentehan dayun inig naka wiring naka chekon sa daan nimo or
testeran".[Before you do wiring check the breaker if it is on of off. It won't turn on and
if you do wiring check the breaker]." E.I.M B.
"Ona dyud ana kaylangan dyud naa tay pang protection sa atong kalawasan ". [ First
of all need to protect our body]. E.I.M.
Damaging the circuit breaker,It will cause a short circuit, Electrocuted and
electric shock.
The theme has four Sub-Themes including "the circuit breaker will be

The circuit breaker will be burning if the connection are not perfect.
Posible nga masunog ang source Kung gapataka rakag Kuan sa mga wire."[It's
possible that the source will burn when the wire are cut].E.I.M.B.
The student's will be electrocuted if they not know how to connecting the wire.
"Dili napud nato mahibal-an sa atong pag wiring nga ang uban diay naay
mga panit nga wire".[ We don't know about our wiring that other's have thin wires]
E.I.M E
If the wire are not perfect in connecting it will give the student electric shock.
" Mapipigilan ito sa pamamagitan nang pag alam sa mga Panganib at mga
hakbang para maiwasan ang mga panganib".[ It can be prevented by knowing the
risks and taking steps to avoid the risks.] E.I.M B
CHAPTER V
Summary
1. The results in determining of what steps can be taken to minimize the risk of
electrical installation and maintenance?
Most of the respondents said that to minimize the risk make sure the breaker is
off to prevent electrocuted and wearing a self/personal protective equipment.
2. Based on the result of How EIM students can be prevented the hazard and risk
associated with the electrical installation?
Most of the respondents said that in doing wiring just carefull to prevent
electrocuted and safety comes first to avoid your life in danger.
3. Based on the result of How effective are the methods for controlling and mitigating
electrical risk in workplace?
Most of the respondents say that this can have a big impact because it will help
for the safety of the students and accident or danger can be prevented.
4. The result in determining of Can you provide me a common hazard while taking a
electrical installation?
Most of the respondents said that some of hazard are burning, electrical
shock, explosions, fire and etc. and the common hazard while participating in wiring
is electrocuted.
Conclusion
1. Understand the difference between hazards and risks: Teach students that a
hazard is something that has the potential to cause harm, while a risk is the
likelihood of that harm actually occurring.
2. Use real-life examples: Provide students with examples of hazards and risks in
electrical installation and maintenance, such as working with live wires or climbing
ladders.
3. Emphasize the importance of safety precautions: Teach students about the safety
measures that should be taken to minimize hazards and mitigate risks, such as
wearing proper protective equipment and following proper procedures.
4. Teach basic electrical safety rules: Educate students about fundamental safety
rules, such as turning off the power before working on electrical systems and never
working alone.
