ANNUAL ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN TECHNICAL-VOCATIONAL
LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION (SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING)
S.Y 2023-2024
I. INTRODUCTION
The Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) program for the academic year
2023-2024 has been marked by significant achievements and milestones. As an
integral part of our commitment to excellence in vocational education, we are
pleased to present this annual accomplishment report highlighting the key
activities, achievements, and developments throughout the year.

The SMAW program aims to equip students with the necessary skills,
knowledge, and techniques in shielded metal arc welding, commonly known as
stick welding. Throughout the academic year, students undergo comprehensive
training, both theoretical and practical, to prepare them for successful careers in
welding and related industries.

II. OBJECTIVES
This report intends to:
1. To equip students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and
safety awareness necessary to proficiently perform shielded metal arc
welding (SMAW) techniques, preparing them for successful careers in the
welding industry.
2. Offer ample opportunities for hands-on practice in SMAW, allowing
students to develop proficiency in striking and maintaining the arc,
controlling the weld puddle, and executing various weld joint
configurations across different materials and thicknesses
3. Provide students with comprehensive instruction covering the
principles, techniques, and applications of SMAW, including electrode
selection, joint preparation, welding positions, and troubleshooting
common welding defects.

III. HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

A. Student Development
1.We are proud to report that sixteen (16) students successfully completed
the SMAW program during the 2023-2024 academic year.
2. Sixteen (16) students achieved industry-recognized certifications,
demonstrating their proficiency in SMAW techniques.
3. Strengthened its partnerships with local industries and welding
professionals, providing students with valuable opportunities for
internships, job placements, and hands-on experience.
4. Industry workshops, and visits were organized to expose students to
real-world welding applications and trends, fostering a deeper
understanding of the field.
5. Safety measures were reinforced, including the implementation of
rigorous safety protocols and the provision of personal protective
equipment (PPE) to all students and instructors.

6. Completed at least 5 major projects, including fabricated band
instrument organizer/ hanger and SSG trash bins, etc.
7. Completed the work immersion program.

B. Teacher Development
1.Attended trainings and seminars on the latest teaching practices and
technologies to improve teaching quality.
2.Participated in continuing education programs, workshops, and
seminars focused on advancements in welding technology, industry
trends, and best practices in teaching welding techniques.
3.Established partnerships with local fashion business and professionals
for knowledge exchange and student internship/ immersion opportunities.
4. Provided personalized guidance and support to students facing
challenges, ensuring that all learners could progress at their own pace and
overcome difficulties.
5.Implemented formative assessment practices, such as regular quizzes,
hands-on demonstrations, and performance evaluations, to gauge student
progress and provide timely feedback. By regularly assessing student
learning outcomes, I was able to adjust instruction and support struggling
students more effectively.
6. Solicited feedback from students through surveys, focus groups, and
informal discussions to assess teaching effectiveness and identify areas
for improvement.
7. Explored the integration of new technologies, such as Television (TV)
and social media videos are welding simulators into the SMAW curriculum.
These technologies provide students with immersive learning experiences
and enhance their understanding of welding processes and techniques.
8. Pursued additional certifications and credentials relevant to SMAW
instruction, such as TMCI certificate. These credentials not only validate
their expertise but also equip them with specialized knowledge to better
prepare students for certification exams and industry standards.

C. Curriculum Development
1. Established clear, measurable learning outcomes that align with
industry standards.
2. Conducted quarterly review and making necessary adjustments to keep
the curriculum relevant and effective.
3.The curriculum was updated to incorporate the latest industry standards,
techniques, and safety protocols, ensuring that students receive relevant
and up-to-date training.
4. New modules were introduced to provide students with advanced
welding skills, including pipe welding and specialized joint configurations.

D. Physical Facilities Development

1. Provided conducive learning environment and ensuring they have
access to modern equipment and facilities.
