- Windows 1.0 is the first version of the Windows operating system. It was
released in 1985 and introduced a graphical user interface (GUI) to IBM-
compatible PCs. It included features like a calculator, calendar and notepad.

Evolution -Windows 2.0 was released in 1987 and introduced overlapping windows and
improved graphics capabilities.

-Windows 3.0 introduced significant improvement to the user interface, making

of Icons which allowed users to easily navigate files .It also included application
like File Manager.

- it introduced new visual style with updated icons, transparent
window frames, It implemented improved security measures
including User Account Control and Windows Defender. It
introduced calendar.
•Windows 7
- It introduced improved User Interface and enhanced
performance and introduced touch input allowing users to interact
with their devices using touch gestures.
•Windows8
- Released in 2012, introduced a new interface designed for touch
devices, included features like Start screen and full-screen apps.
• Windows 10
-Released in 2015, introduced a more unified operating system
across different devices, it included the virtual assistant Cortana
and also introduced the Microsoft Edge web Browser which
offered improved performance, security and compatibility with
modern web standards.
