1: Introduction
The fully automated solar grass cutter is a grass cutting robotic vehicle powered by solar energy that also
avoids obstacles and is capable of grass cutting without the need of any human interaction and also play
important role in spraying the pesticide.
This method is time-consuming and often results in uneven cutting.

With the advancement of technology, grass cutting is now achieved through the use of single or multiple
blades, which can cut the grass surface to a uniform height.

This approach allows for efficient trimming of grass while minimizing the amount of human power required.

Modern grass-cutting with sprinkling technologies incorporate energy sources such as petrol, electricity ,etc.

Solar power grass cutting robots are innovative machines designed to automate lawn care by using solar energy
as a power source.
They offer a sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective solution to the challenges associated with manual
lawn maintenance.
Applications

A Solar Powered Automatic Grass Cutting and Pesticide Spreading robot project is mainly to reduce the
manpower and usage of electricity.
It is used to maintain and upkeep lawns in gardens, schools, playground, college’s,park etc.
It is used to spraying the pesticide for irrigation .

It can operate three mechanism at a time like grass cutting, pesticide sprinkling and avoid obstacle .

It can operates in less time .

It reduces labour cost.

It reduces time of farmers and they can also done different works
It produces less noise pollution than the conventional grass cutter.
There is no fuel cost as it uses only solar energy.
The initial cost of a solar-powered grass cutter may be higher than traditional lawn mowers .
Depends on sunlight for power.
Requires regular maintenance.
3: Methodology
WORKING PRINCIPLE.
The first operation is grass cutting, the grass cutting blade is connected a DC Motor. The second operation is the
spreading of water/pesticide, here we use a water pump connected to the spreading nozzle by the means of hoses.
The battery is connected to the bluetooth Module with controls all the motors.

When a high-speed rotation to the grass cutting sharp edge, it drives kinetic energy while the rpm
increases. A motor which is DC is associated to the lead acid battery to translate the electrical energy into
mechanical energy to perform grass cutting operation and wheel rotation. The second operation of water
spraying is done by fitting a rotary water pump to the bottom of the water tank that is placed at the back
end. The pump is connected to sprayers by means of the hoses. Thus, water/pesticide is sprayed onto the
ground uniformly and effectively.

In this project the main part is the Arduino UNO R3 which control the all assembly of project. The user is with the
Bluetooth module , the user has to select that in which mode the system has to operate either it is in manual
mode and the auto mode in manual mode the user has to decide that where to move robot but in auto mode the
robot will decide that where it wants to go . By using ultrasonic sensor the robot will move. The blade of the
robot is hand made design the motor used for the cutter is the brush less dc motor and it has the rpm of 35000 it
operates on 12v dc supply.
The battery is source part for the project the battery is supplying the 12v dc for the motor and pump. The
Charged on the solar plate once the battery is fully charged the robot will move properly.

Also the second application is the pesticide spreading here we use the 12v dc operated pump with the 1.5m
length pipe and the spreading nozzle is connected at the one end of the pipe.

For supplying water to the and storing pesticide we use the water tank of 2 liter.

Bluetooth module control used here has the range of 30ft. In this range the use has to give instruction to the
robot.

Fabrication

Solar panels convert the sun's energy into electricity. Batteries are now used to storethis electrical energy.Through
connecting wires, the motor is connected to the batteries. We used four motors in total. The machine is driven by two
motors.

Grass cutting is done with two motors to which blades are attached. The power from these motors is transmitted to the
blade, which rotates at a high speed and cuts the grass. There is also a provision for height adjustment of cutterblades at
three different levels above ground level, namely at 3 cm, 4.5 cm, and 6 cm.

The motor driver connects the two motors that are attached to the wheels. Its movements are well coordinated due to the
assistance of the motor driver. The motors are connected to an Arduino Uno, which regulates their direction of movement.
The relay, which is interfaced with Arduino Uno, is attached to the two grass cutting motors that are connected in series, as
well as the water pump.

The Arduino Uno has been pre-programmed to send signals through Bluetooth transceiver, allowing it to be easily
detected by mobile phones. The connecting pins connect the Arduino, motor controller, and relay to the Bluetooth
transceiver, allowing data to be sent to the configured device.
The system uses 12V battery to power the vehicle movement motors as well as the grass cutter motor and water pump. The
Blade is kept at the Angle of 90 Degree forflexible operation.

The grass cutter motors and water pump are interfaced to Arduino Uno through relay which will perform grass cutting and
spraying of pesticide sprayer.

CONCLUSION:-

These days the importance of automation is been drastically increasing, there

are so many machine used in agricultural field for different operations that
need to be performed.

There are machines or robots for grass cutting but only some of them are
affordable and economical.

There are very few robots which can accurately perform multiple tasks. In this
project, both the grass cutting and water sprinkling is being collaborated
together.
FUTURE SCOPE:-

For future work, there are few recommendations can be made to develop a better device.
Instead of using polycrystalline solar panel, it is better to used mono-crystalline solar panel due to the
high efficiency.

The motor for the blade should have both high speed and torque. Higher capacity of rechargeable battery can
lead to more operating time.

Lastly, few types of blades to be considered to cut different types of grasses. Also, in future we can
implement lawn cutter by making arrangement to collect the grass that is cut off in order to reduce further
manpower.

Area covered, efficiency, estimates of time, required can be calculated and sent to the user’s phone.
