VLAB EXERCISES for Applied Numerical Methods

The document provides instructions for accessing and using VLAB for Applied Numerical Methods. It outlines the steps to register, navigate to the Numerical Methods section, and explore various experiments related to roots of equations, integration, and differential equations. Users are advised to review the theory and procedure before performing simulations and to submit feedback afterward.

VLAB EXERCISES for Applied Numerical Methods

I hope you have registered yourself for VLab. If not, do it. Your EMAIL ID will be
your USERNAME and PASSWORD as set by you while registering. Refer the PDF,
“VLAB Notice” which I have shared with SY BTech Group on WhatsApp.

Visit, vlabs.iitb.ac.in/vlabs-dev/approved_labs.php

1. Click, DISCPLINE to arrange the list as per the Branch.

2. Now, under MATHEMATICS, you will find NUMERICAL METHODS enlisted.

Click it.

3. Page of NUMERICAL METHODS will be opened. Click “EXPLORE”. Following

list appears:

Roots of Equation: Bracketing Methods

Roots of Equation: Open Methods

Simultaneous Equations: Gauss Elimination Method

Simultaneous Equations: Gauss Siedel Method

Single Integration

Double Integration (This is not the part of our Syllabus)

Lagrange’s Interpolation

Newton Forward Interpolation (This is not the part of our Syllabus)

Straight Line Curve Fitting

Second Order Curve Fitting

First Order Ordinary Differential Equation

Second Order Ordinary Differential Equation

Finite Difference Method: Elliptical Equation

Finite Difference Method: Parabolic Equation

Click any of the above Experiments; the page of that particular experiment will
open.

You will see the options HOME ABOUT LABS followed by an icon

Click this icon to get following options revealed:

AIM

THEORY

PRE TEST

PROCEDURE

SIMULATION

POST TEST

REFERENCES

Clicking the above options would reveal its contents. Importantly go through
THEORY and PROCEDURE before you select SIMULATION. In THEORY, you will
find C Program of that Experiment alongwith the fundamentals of the
experiment. SIMULATION offers to input your own values and solve the
problem. It also gives a few Numericals to solve.

After performing, all the Experiments follow STEP 3, as explained in VLAB

NOTICE.pdf and submit the feedback.
