Data Scientist - Intern

As a Data Scientist intern, you will help research, develop and advance the charter for AI
systems at Outplay. You should be able to train models using existing data and use
them creatively to deliver a great experience to customers. You will have to contribute in
developing multiple AI applications that push the threshold of conversational
intelligence.

You should have a high level of attention to detail and find creative ways to provide
analytical insights for multiple projects. You should thrive in a fast, high-energy startup
environment and balance multiple projects at the same time. The thrill of the next big
challenge should drive you, and when faced with an obstacle, you should be resourceful
and relentless in finding clever and creative solutions. You must have the ability and
interest to work on a range of projects, business processes and must have a
background that demonstrates it.

Responsibilities

● Understand AI R&D initiatives which dissects data for creating new solution
prototypes and minimum viable products
● Collaborate with the team to develop new models to be used for classification
and prediction
● Ability to work independently based on the direction provided by senior
colleague.
● Collaborate and provide technical guidance and come up with new ideas, rapid
prototyping and converting prototypes into scalable products
● Work closely with multiple teams on projects using textual and voice data to build
conversational intelligence
● Prototype and demonstrate AI augmented capabilities in the product for
customers
● Conduct experiments to assess the accuracy and recall of language processing
modules and study the effect of such experiments on different application areas
of sales
● Excellent knowledge of Python along with Pandas, ML algorithms.
● Good in writing codes to solve challenging problems
● Build reusable and scalable solutions for use across a varied customer base
Education & Background

● Bachelors or Masters in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics,


Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research or related field with focus on
applied Machine Learning, AI , NLP and data-driven statistical analysis &
modelling
● Experience applying AI/ML/NLP/Deep Learning/ data-driven statistical analysis &
modelling solutions is a plus.
● Excellent grasp on programming languages like Python or R.
● Proficient in analysis using python packages like Pandas, Matplotlib , Numpy
● Strong and proven programming skills in machine learning and deep learning
with experience in frameworks such as TensorFlow, Pytorch, Keras, Caffe, Spark
etc will be a plus.
● Research and implement new machine learning and statistical approaches
● Excellent communication skills to explain complex solutions to stakeholders
across multiple disciplines
● Experience in SQL, RDBMS is a plus
● It's good to have some prior relevant internship or project experience.

Accomplishments

● Exposure to Deep Learning, Neural Networks or related fields


● Knowledge in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) or
Machine Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence).
● Passion for solving NLP problems for both textual and voice data
● Fast learner, with great written and verbal communication skills, and be able to
work independently as well as in a team environment with good written and
verbal communication skills
Software Engineer Intern (Platform)

We are looking for a software engineer intern to develop, deliver and scale the core
platform services at Outplay. If you love distributed, event driven architecture dealing
with huge amount of data, come join us

Responsibilities

● Good knowledge cloud agnostic services deployable across multiple cloud


vendors
● Responsible for contributing in building core platform and maintaining different
low level services
● Contribute to design discussions and decisions around building scalable and
modular software systems
● Knowledge on security and performance is a plus.
● Ready to be on top of the software engineering ecosystem and propose new
technologies/methodologies that can be adopted
● Ability to learn robust frameworks, stacks and toolset for application development
and delivery
● Build clean, modular and scalable backend services with good design patterns

Requirements

● Excellent command over data structure and algorithms


● Ability to write maintainable, scalable and unit testable code
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Understanding on micro-services and distributed systems
● Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns is a plus
Education & Background

● Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science related field.


● Extensive knowledge in at least one of the programming languages
(Python/Golang/C#) while ready to explore and learn new technologies
● Good understanding about APIs using REST/gRPC
● Knowledge with relational and distributed database systems like PostgreSQL,
SQL server or Cassandra

UI Engineer Intern

Responsibilities

● Responsibilities include contribution to front-end development for


customer-facing dashboard, websites, applications and translation of the UI/UX
design wireframes to actual code, as well as building the logic that powers these
visual elements.
● Provide inputs for software design, testing, and deployment.
● Contribute to design discussions and decisions around building scalable and
modular software systems.
● Stay on top of the software engineering ecosystem and propose new
technologies/methodologies that can be adopted.

Requirements

● Good understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript/TypeScript. CSS,


HTML5, Angular, REST/JSON API is a must.
● Clear understanding of Javascript ES6, oops concept.
● Knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL etc.
● Work effectively with cross-functional teams to develop features.
● Ability to write maintainable, scalable and unit testable code.
● Problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to develop
creative/non-traditional solutions for challenging, undefined problems.

Nice To Have

● Basic understanding of frontend frameworks like Angular/React/Vue.


● Familiarity with code versioning tools e.g. git
● Experience with commonly used frontend libraries/frameworks/editors (e.g.,
bootstrap, axios.js, fontawesome, vscode)
● Debugging using Chrome Dev Tools.

Education & Background

● Pursuing Final Year/ completed B.E./ B.Tech degree in Computer Science related
field.
● It's good to have some prior relevant internship or project experience.
● Good understanding of data structures, algorithms and system design.
