Question 1:How would you use Excel to analyze and visualize large datasets in your field of ex-
pertise?

Expected Answer:I would use Excel to clean, filter, and sort large datasets efficiently. Pivot tables
help summarize and extract key insights, while charts like histograms, scatter plots, and trendlines
visualize patterns. Additionally, conditional formatting and data validation ensure accurate interpre-
tation of the data.

Candidates Answer:So Excel definitely helps in analysing the data. So once we get the data in a
raw excel format, we need to clean the data. So that can be done using excel and there are lot
of tools MATLAB and many more. Then in excel we can plot we can plot the data then we can by
plotting the data data we can get the key understandings of the data and we can. In the VBA to
there is a VBA tool in Excel which can be which leverages the capacity of the XA.

Question 2:Can you explain the use of pivot tables and VLOOKUP in Excel?

Expected Answer:Pivot tables allow dynamic summarization of large datasets by grouping, filtering,
and aggregating values, making analysis faster. VLOOKUP is used for searching specific data in a
table by matching values from a reference column. Together, they enhance data retrieval, compar-
ison, and decision-making processes.

Candidates Answer:So I basically have a 3 years of experience in Tata Motors RLD. So there I have
used excel, have used some of the tools like we look up. Then I used to use some formulas to do
mathematical calculations. Then I used formulas in excel the to calculate some design require-
ments. Apart from that plotting of the graphs the use charts, scatter plots. There's where some
of the tools that I use in the Excel. Yes pivot tables. Once we have our data we can put up pivot
table. So with the help of pivot table we can get the key understandings of the data. So like you can
arrange the data as a pivot table in terms of rows or columns. Then you can sum up the data. Then
you can count the data. With the help of pivot table we can summarise the data then we look up if
we did we. Data in 2 different sheets. Then we can compare the 2 different data sheets. Then we
can merge or we can get the required. We can get the data required from one sheet to the other
considering one of them as one of the column as a reference column, yes.

Question 1:What is Volvo’s approach to sustainability and electric vehicles?

Expected Answer:Volvo is committed to becoming a fully electric car company by 2030 and aims to
be climate-neutral by 2040. They have introduced models like the Volvo XC40 Recharge and EX30,
emphasizing recycled materials, sustainable production processes, and reduced carbon footprints
in their supply chain.

Candidates Answer:Show Volvo is one of the top automobile manufacturer company in the world.
Now it's moved towards sustainability. As the world is moving towards sustainability and electric
vehicles, Volvo is taking a lead in electric vehicles and in sustainability. Currently I'm not aware of
specific initiatives. Definitely I will look on that.

Candidates Answer:Yes, so I am Karthik Kulkarni. I am basically from North Karnataka Kulbhar

ka district. I completed my schooling from there itself. Then I moved to Hubli to pursue my BE
specialized in mechanical engineering. Then through placement I worked for 3 years on site Tata
Motors Pune in automotive sector in commercial vehicle specifically. Then in 2023 I cracked the
gate then now I am pursuing. M Tech in NIT, Calicut.

Question 1:What is the role of sensors and actuators in a mechatronic system?

Expected Answer:Sensors detect environmental changes and convert them into signals, while ac-
tuators respond to control signals by performing mechanical actions. For example, a temperature
sensor in an HVAC system detects temperature changes, and an actuator adjusts the air con-
ditioning accordingly. Together, they form the foundation of automation and intelligent control in

Question 1:Explain the difference between analog and digital circuits with practical applications.

Expected Answer:Analog circuits process continuous signals, while digital circuits work with dis-
crete binary signals (0s and 1s). Analog circuits are used in applications like audio amplification,
whereas digital circuits are found in computers and microcontrollers. Digital systems offer better
noise resistance and are more scalable in modern electronics.

Expected Answer:Power factor correction improves the efficiency of electrical systems by reducing
reactive power and minimizing power losses. Low power factor leads to increased electricity costs
and inefficient power usage, so capacitors or active PFC circuits are used to improve it. Industries
benefit from reduced energy bills and enhanced performance of electrical equipment.
