CH 1

The document discusses business profiles, processes, and modeling; whether computer transactions will eventually replace person-to-person contact; and a summary of agile system development approaches and the spiral model from research conducted online. A business profile outlines a company while business processes describe transactions and events. Research found agile systems use short iterative cycles to reduce risks and typically employ a spiral model.

Discussion Topics
4. Computers perform many jobs that previously were performed by people. Will computer-based transactions and expanded e-commerce eventually replace personto-person contact? From a customers point of view, is this better? Why or why not?
From a customers point of view, I do think computers will eventually replace person to person contact. Look at holidays, Christmas for instance more and more people shop online for there gifts. Either because its more convenient or theres better offers online.

Projects
3. Do a search on the Web to learn more about agile system development approaches and spiral models. Prepare a summary of the results and a list of the sites you visited.

Agile system breaks development process down into cycles, or iterations that add functionality. Each iteration is designed, built, and tested in an ongoing process. Attempts to reduce major risks by incremental steps in short time intervals. Typically uses a spiral model.
