Legal information
Warning notice system

This manual contains notices you have to observe in order to ensure your personal safety, as
well as to prevent damage to property. The notices referring to your personal safety are
highlighted in the manual by a safety alert symbol, notices referring only to property damage
have no safety alert symbol. These notices shown below are graded according to the degree of
danger.

DANGER

indicates that death or severe personal injury will result if proper precautions are not taken.

WARNING

indicates that death or severe personal injury may result if proper precautions are not taken.

CAUTION

indicates that minor personal injury can result if proper precautions are not taken.

NOTICE

indicates that property damage can result if proper precautions are not taken.

If more than one degree of danger is present, the warning notice representing the highest
degree of danger will be used. A notice warning of injury to persons with a safety alert symbol
may also include a warning relating to property damage.

Qualified Personnel

The product/system described in this documentation may be operated only by personnel


qualified for the specific task in accordance with the relevant documentation, in particular its
warning notices and safety instructions. Qualified personnel are those who, based on their
training and experience, are capable of identifying risks and avoiding potential hazards when
working with these products/systems.

Proper use of Siemens products

The SIMATIC Visualization Architect (SiVArc) enables easy, fast and flexible automated creation
of HMI content based on the STEP 7 user program.

What's new in V19


The following functions are newly available with SIMATIC Visualization Architect V19:
Rule editor: "Advanced Tag Rule Editor"

The new rule editor offers full control for the generation of HMI tags, e.g. generation of

multiplex tags.

Support of additional screen objects for WinCC Unified

PLC code view

Graph overview

Screen windows

Improvement of SiVArc expressions

The expression "FolderPath" now provides better results when using S7 units.

The expression Block.Parameters("Name") can now also read the value of PLC user constants.

The "Split" function now also works with strings in addition to individual characters.

Evaluations based on the key words True and False are no longer case-sensitive. The

comparison value is interpreted, e.g.

when "false", "False", or 0 = False, the result would be correct

Other properties that can be changed by SiVArc:

"Mode" property for the symbolic IO field.

Logging tags are supported for the trend control.

Improvement of the Property configurator:

The resource type can be selected for the symbolic IO field.

Improved handling of alarms.

Improvement of the generation of multilingual texts:

SiVArc now generates the languages based on the project languages. As a result,

regeneration is no longer necessary after adding another Runtime language to a device.

Improvement of usability

Cut & Paste is supported in the rule editors.

The SiVArc expression at the interface or event of a Unified faceplate is retained even after

the interface or event is renamed.

Entries for the rules in a rule group can be specified in the row of the rule group. This

reduces maintenance effort.

Deleted objects are listed by name in the log file.
