Syllabus: Explanatory Data Analysis and

Visualization
Program: Associate in Computer Technology
Instructor: [Your Name]
Semester: [Fall/Spring, Year]
Credits: 3
Prerequisites: Introduction to Computing or equivalent

Course Description
This course introduces students to the foundational concepts and techniques of
explanatory data analysis (EDA) and data visualization. Students will learn how to
explore, summarize, and present data effectively using modern tools and methods. The
course emphasizes practical skills in interpreting data, identifying patterns, and
communicating insights visually for technical and non-technical audiences.

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
● Understand the principles and importance of explanatory data analysis.
● Apply statistical and graphical techniques to summarize and interpret datasets.
● Use industry-standard software (e.g., Excel, Python, or R) for data analysis and
visualization.
● Design clear and effective visualizations for various data types.
● Critically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of data visualizations.
● Communicate data-driven findings to diverse audiences.
