Overview
SSCR (SAP Software Change Registration) is a procedure, starting in Release 3.0A, for registering all manual changes to SAP source coding and SAP Dictionary objects. Exempted from the registration process are SAP matchcodes and tuning measures, such as the configuration of database indices and buffers. Changes to SAP-owned objects are known as modifications. Repairs are also modifications. Though not recommended, you may find it necessary to adjust an SAP object to either correct a problem or provide additional functionality. To eliminate the need to perform modifications for a code fix, SAP offers patches. Using the Enhancement Concepts of R/3, additional functionality can be provided without modifying the original object. The following steps show you how to obtain the Developer Key and the SAP Object Key . Before these steps can be performed, please ensure the following: 1. an SAP License has been applied for and installed, and 2. OSS is registered and its connection has been installed and tested.

1. To go to the SAP Online Service System logon screen, enter the transaction code /nOSS1.
If you are getting a developer key because the system is asking for it, you can open a separate session by entering /o instead of /n before the transaction code (for example, /oOSS1). When you get the key, simply copy and paste it into your original session window. 2. Click the Logon button.
